my suggestion is the 187 15 for 120 + knukoncepts 4 gauge kit for something like 40 shipped + some half decent amp.. heres afew options that could work. hifonics phoenix gold rsd mtx rf prime the knukoncepts kit is pretty nice. used it in a friend car. definitely better then the one included in that link u mentioned.

i put a 15" solobaric in my bro's 00 mercury sable. same car assuming your talking about the sedan? some things i noticed are that the rear deck doesn't handle the bass well at all. our plan is to wall off the ski pass. we would still have to deaden the rear deck.. if you dont wish to do a wall then i would heavily recommend deadening the rear deck and trunk lid followed with spray foam in all the gaps.

could take a piece of mdf and do a giant kerf to make a cylinder. i've seen it done but not for an 18. i think it could stand up quite well if u reinforce it with fg inside and build it well. as for a sono tube of that size i have no clue..

just cut some strands off the 12 gauge so it fits in the terminal. no need to buy smaller wire..

trying to figure out what went wrong with my brother sub. box is 3.85 cubes net turned to 30 hz. (2 4" diameter pvc pipes... yes i know that not enough port area.. was suppose to be a temp box). amp is a kole qx1 3000d wired at 2 ohm but turned way down.. i was planning to redo the box and everything. i measured voltage to be 17v at amp terminals with a 55hz test tone recorded at -3 db. you can do the math on that if you like but its not much power at all.. its in a mercury sable with stock system. installed ----------> stock head unit - stock amp - mtx req - amp (i told him to not turn the headunit volume past half as it starts to clip and distort) current condition is the vc is locked up... coils still read 2 ohm which i thought was odd.. this sub was once thrown around in his trunk (car accident) while it was in a smaller sealed box.. it was ripped from the box so im thinking the coil might have been miss aligned. other possibility is he didnt listen to me and send it a nasty clipped signal and played some fucked up song from this ipod that was recorded louder then others.. also his previous amp was a kenwood amp rated at 900rms that got fried (possible from low voltage), could that have caused any damage that lead to this. any thought on what went wrong? my thoughts are that the sub was damaged in the car accident and it just finally went out of wack. i havent pulled the sub to look at it yet but plan to soon

he ran this sub for quite awhile. even after the accident it seemed fine. now i gota find him a replacement sub.. maybe a used bl or something along those lines

my sls 8's took some time to loosen up and hit the harder. id just give them some break in time. also playing with xover points and phase might help.

thank you. actually i should have been for specific. they will be pods sitting in the corners where the a pillar meets the dash.. i think will be more forgiving if i mess up. going to the junk yard is a good idea as well. ill think about that. checking the sites you posted now

ill be fg'ing some a pillar pods as well as sealing large (roughly 2' by 1.5') holes the 2 fronts doors. the A pillar pods are for one 3" fullrange driver (on each side). im looking for a good site or store to buy the amount of products i will need to complete these projects? later ill be posting question on how to do the fiberglass since this will be my first time.. i have a rough idea of how to do it but im sure ill run into problems... so im just just looking for some rough figures on how much shit i need to buy to get this done, as well as, a cheap retailer. thanks
