if its a touch phone just hold down on the photo in the text message and it should give you the option to save it. should be saved in your gallery. then you can plug the phone into your pc with the usb cable and transfer that way. or us bluetooth to transfer wirelessly. or get the photobucket app and upload it.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Use lotion and or talcum powder on your arms next time. Don't wash with warm water but I have a suspicion you already did.. I never had issues with rash from sanding FG. i must have sensitive skin because it was already inflamed minutes after sanding and before washing it off. wasn't really sweating as it was about 50 degrees F in the garage. luckily it cleared up within 24 hours, i'll avoid the hot water next time haha.
  5. Yeah it might be tight but I'm pretty sure an 8" would fit. As for the tweeters, they could either be mounted near their current location or up higher in the panel...of course it depends on the size of the tweeter. Here are some pictures of my current driver installed on the plastic factory "support tower", a shot of the back of my trim panel and a shot of the top of the panel where the tweeters could possibly be mounted between the mirror and my gauge (depends on size again). As for install efforts, I'm willing to make the effort to fit an 8" and make a custom mount if required. I've never fabricated custom MDF mounts (doesn't look too hard from what I've seen) nor worked with fiberglass but its something I've always thought of trying, I know its a lot of work (well I think from what I've seen) but I'm not scared of trying. As for eq'ing, I'm willing to do as much as required to get the sound I want or as close to it but I don't have access to an oscilloscope or RTA for tuning...except I've got an iPhone 4 and there's an RTA app that some said is worth it...I tried the free version RTA Lite but don't know how accurate the app is... Thanks! I landed on your CarDomain page and saw your custom fiberglass pods for your doors while searching for "Crescendo XST2" on Google images, they look really nice!! looks like you have the width for an 8" but what sean will probably suggest will be rather deep (4"+ possibly). so pull the mid, lower the window all the way down, and take some depth measurement. try to get an idea of how much space between the window (if it goes down the far in the door) and the door panel. if you dont mind cutting the door panel up then this isn't a problem. dont worry about the RTA or anything like that. its practically useless in car audio. in most cars you could take a measurement at one spot and then move the mic 6 inches and get something completely different. The goal is to reproduce the material in a way that sounds right too you. we can give you a good step by step guide to tuning when your ready. another question, how are the A pillars? do they have air bags behind them? kicks might work too (for tweeters), but we're getting alittle a head of our selves.

I remember when they left the forum. Seemed like a strange decision back then. both the 18 and 21 are priced pretty high but the ixl 15 and 18 are pretty close to what they use to be back when they were sold in the ssa store.

    Welcome to the IHoP

iirc you have a mach 5 ixl? i regret not getting one back in the day, went with an cheaper sub from Ascendant audio. edit: not that i'm interested in buying it, just dont have a use for it.. i just remember random shit haha I have the prototype and initial IXL 12. All others were built based on the one I have. No further changes, but there were none before it either. wow, very cool. I doubt i'll ever part with my mj 18. seems mach 5 has some new drivers in the works as well. http://www.istonline.ca/mach5_ftw_21.html this guy looks like a beast HT sub

looking for 8" free air suggestions

he probably means infinite baffle not free air do you plan to add a new amplifier or use the factory amp for the sub? an 8" sub will not get very loud ib (although it could out perform the oem sub), just not enough displacement. personally i would either do a larger driver ib or run a seal or ported enclosure. also need to know space requirement if you want to move ahead with a oem replacement. considering that if your planning to modify it to allow an 8 inch sub, is it possible to fit something larger? sharing some pictures of the oem location may give us an idea as to what you could do to allow for a large sub. i've have seem some cool baffle designs that allows larger subs to fit oem locations.

And they'd be a huge upgrade, IMO. wish they sold the w4 titanium in a truncated frame.. dealing with clearance around the E-brake is difficult. (in the process of making new kicks). so i bent the e-brake out of the way... If you have a router, you can easily truncate that frame yourself. haha, dont think i have the balls to try that.

They aren't going to fit in your doors or a-pillars... So where do you suggest I mount them? dont they install most horns below the dash

Fi BL and my application ?

cramming an 18 into your trunk might present other problems. for example some have observed that if the box is too large, the box effectively blocks the sound from traveling into cabin. if the rear seats fold down then walling off the trunk might be a better option if you want to stick with a large sub. i remember an install were the sub was down-firing and port forward ( or simply angle the baffle). chances are that a 15 would avoid such problems. and if your inexperienced this might be a safer option. Just because an 18 could be theoretically louder then the 15 does't mean that it will be the case in your install. your dimensions didn't say if you could actually get the box into the trunk. perhaps you could through the back seat but you would have to account for that as well.

    So I built my box,.....

just break it down into right triangles and rectangles and add up the total volume. simple math my friend
  24. lithium

    Which 6.5" components?

check the wiring for breaks or cuts. could be grounding out somewhere. or grounding on the speaker basket.

box for 2 12" zcons in the f150

you could use pvc ports/aero ports and play around with the tuning.
