Need some 4 ga? I have a 100' roll I'll sell for $1/ft. Must buy whole roll. How about 5.5' for 4.50 man? I'm on a budget bro. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=See-All-Categories&_from=R40&_nkw=cadence%204%20gauge&_sop=15

No way to do this easily....unless you spend a SHIT ton of cash. One option CAN make this easier, it's mono Wasn't the point of the minidsp to make it cheap? Cheap with future flexibility. And yes, it's pissing me off. A $10 pot would be fine, but $50. FUCK. so theses wont work? http://www.minidsp.com/onlinestore/detail/8-accessories/flypage/78-volume-control-pot?sef=hcfp i probably missed something, haha

i dont think there has ever been an option on a Q which would restrict it to a ported box. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/7155-q-enclosure-recommendations/

this is giving me some good ideas if i ever decide to downsize the number of amps i have installed in my current car. dont think the olds will be with us much longer... after finals are finished in 2 weeks i'll probably post another thread involving some problems the car having wish i hadn't beat on this car as much as have over the years

kicker sx? http://www.ebay.com/...&_nkw=kicker+sx edit: this action is kind of strange but maybe a possibility. http://www.ebay.com/...6#ht_500wt_1170 idk what the processing built into the amp is capable of Had originally thought of the kickers as in general I am a huge fan, but they do power at 2ohm bridged and not 4ohm which creates a driver problem for me. Otherwise I'd already have some... Love the ideas though, feel bad I am shooting most down. Figured I overlooked something when I did it and so far I have. The 900.4 I am rather interested in. Curious to know more from Darin. I've met him before, heard his car, heard his buddies and know a bunch of his work history. If he gives me a thumbs up I'm open to trying. Cheap enough that if I have to add a heatsink I am thinking about it. not a problem, im having fun shopping around haha

Not sure if I am frightened or excited. First big 4 chn class D I've seen and that alone is awesome if indeed it does near what it says. Since PPI "died" a while back I haven't followed what has resurrected them, nor do I expect it to be a good thing; however, I'd love to be wrong. not sure how much weight pasmag carries but i'll post this anyways. http://www.pasmag.com/car-audio/test-reports/1805-test-report-precision-power-p9004-amplifier-

gotcha, seems like this amp might be too cheap for what your intending to use it for. as someone who buys cheap amps i've never looked into who's designing what.

could you get away with only using 2 of the 2x4 models?
-
Any idea how they are heat sinked? Only reason I ask is that the Cerwin Vega version of the Arc amps don't fare so well in boat environments due to the heat. I "could" mount them in a different orientation and use a fan but then I have no access to the connections without a bunch of bs time building a flip down something or other to hold them. not sure. are you saying the cadence amp is a rebranded arc amp just like the cerwin vega's?
-
remote on the cadence is only the 3/4 channels if you went with the minidsp you can control it with a knobby http://www.minidsp.c...ol-pot?sef=hcfp

cadence vegas - 450 x 2 bridged. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CADENCE-VEGAS-AMP-4-CH-1800W-CLASS-AB-SPEAKER-AMPLIFIER-/110578970114?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item19bf052e02#ht_4903wt_954 actually i was going to recommend a cadence zrs 3002. 1000 x 1 @ 4ohm. i picked one up for $160 as a refurb from cadence's ebay store but i dont see any close to that price. 4 of them would be overkill i think.

you would probably not notice a difference between the 2 subs but the newest model SSD is rated to handle more power.

so how much depth do you have? the spacer would need to only be 1.5 to 2.25 inches depending on the subwoofers excursion capability. -
New "SQL" system for a metalhead - Right direction?

here's an idea to keep a double din. not sure if it keeps all of your features but it still has video and stuff.. alpine ixa-w404 with pxa-h100 imprint as the dsp. i dont think you would lose much money between selling your current hu and buying these. i dont think pioneer has a similar combination available that would allow you to keep your current hu. my understanding is that the h100 is controlled from the hu, which sean pointed out to be important. the h100 has some auto tune thing like the ms8 but i wouldn't bother with it. here are the dsp specs. Equalizer: 10 typical equalizer settings are preset at the factory for a variety of musical source material. You can select from - Flat, Pops, Rock, News, Jazz & Blues, Electrical Dance, Hip Hop & Rap, Easy Listening, Country, and Classical. The head unit will also save six custom EQ curves you create by adjusting the units built-in EQ. Choose the parametric or graphic EQ: 5- Band Parametric EQ: The built-in Parametric EQ allows you to adjust the following 5 frequency bands in 1/3 octave steps from -6 to +6 dB at a bandwidth Q factor of 1, 1.5, or 3 Band 1: 20 Hz to 80 Hz Band 2: 50 Hz to 200 Hz Band 3: 125 Hz to 3.2 kHz Band 4: 315 Hz to 8 kHz Band 5: 800 Hz to 20 kHz [*]7-Band Graphic EQ: The built-in Graphic EQ allows you to adjust the following 7 frequencies from -6 to +6 dB Band 1: 63 Hz Band 2: 150 Hz Band 3: 400 Hz Band 4: 1 kHz Band 5: 2.5 kHz Band 6: 6.3 kHz Band 7: 17.5 kHz Crossover: The active crossover can be used as a 2.2 channel (3-way; low-pass subwoofer, band-pass midrange, high-pass tweeter) or a 4.2 channel (2-way; high-pass front and rear, low-pass subwoofer). A crossover limits the frequencies delivered to a given speaker, so you send only the frequencies for which the speaker is well suited. The crossover adjusts the high pass filter or low pass filter of each band along with the slope and output level. You can adjust the following crossover settings: 4.2 Channel: High Pass Filter: the front and rear outputs are individually adjustable; crossover from 20 to 200 Hz in 1/3 octave steps with a slope of Flat, 6, 12, 18 or 24 dB/oct, additionally you can adjust the output level from -12 to 0 dB Low Pass Filter: the subwoofer output can be stereo or mono; crossover from 20 to 200 Hz in 1/3 octave steps with a slope of Flat, 6, 12, 18 or 24 dB/oct, additionally you can adjust the output level from -12 to 0 dB [*]2.2 Channel: Tweeter/High Pass Filter: crossover from 1 kHz to 20 kHz in 1/3 octave steps with a slope of 6, 12, 18, or 24 dB/oct, additionally you can adjust the output level from -12 to 0 dB Midrange/Band Pass Filter: a band pass has both high pass and low pass filters; HPF 20 to 200 Hz in 1/3 octave steps with a slope of Flat, 6, 12, 18 or 24 dB/oct; LPF from 20 Hz to 20 kHz in 1/3 octave steps with a slope of Flat, 6, 12, 18 or 24 dB/oct, additionally you can adjust the output level from -12 to 0 dB Subwoofer/Low Pass Filter: the subwoofer output can be stereo or mono; crossover from 20 to 200 Hz in 1/3 octave steps with a slope of Flat, 6, 12, 18 or 24 dB/oct, additionally you can adjust the output level from -12 to 0 dB Time Correction: The time correction feature delays the audio signal to the speakers closer to the listener. This effectively creates a perception of increased distance for those speakers. Time Correction allows the listener to be placed at an equal distance from all speakers for optimum staging. You can adjust the distance of each speaker and subwoofer (6-channel) to the listener from 0 to 132.7 inches. -
9887 + Mp3 player
lithium replied to emh9009's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
those two wires are essentually the same thing. if the 9887 is simlar to the 9855 that i used in my bro's install then i think there is an aux sensitivity setting you could play with. check your phone doesnt have some sort of EQ setting turned on. -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resistor#Series_and_parallel_resistors simple electronics my friend. for a single subwoofer with two 2 ohm coils you would wire them in parallel to get 1 ohm load at the amplifier. again if you want a final 1 ohm load at the amp then you want the dual 2 ohm coil configuration (for 1 subwoofer)

if your worried about size the Zed audio amps might be a better choice (or similar class D amps). precision power p900.4 looks like a good option if you dont want to spend so much on amps. i see its out of stock on a few sites so perhaps a pair of the 2 channel p600.2's. then what ever sub amp you like. a certain forum member is selling some very nice black jl amps in the f/s section as well. Don is pretty busy guy, perhaps he missed your email or he is very behind. i would resend it. i've made a few purchases with him, excellent service! edit: parts express has a return option that will allow you to send back the drivers you dont like if they show no signs of mounting, etc. So it may be best, once you have a few options selected, to test them out. -

OP, you could try making something of a manifold to allow you to mate a large driver 12"+ with the smaller diameter hole. it would require you to allow some extra room for the subwoofer to move, so it would be about 3-4 layers of mdf. 1 subwoofer baffle, 1 or 2 layers spacers, 1 baffle meeting up with the oem hole. something like this
