This. Just set your gains right and you should have no problems with it Kef

100 watts wont really be noticeable and defiantly not worth the price to upgrade. if you looking to increase output maybe invest in deadening. wait for it to break in. you will surely gain output, especially in the low end! My 187 loves the KX400.1 I have on it. I wouldn't do it though just because of the cost, no point in buying a slightly bigger amp to get a little bit of output out of it. That said, wait until break in, and then go from there. Kef

I know the rattles thing all too well. My rear deck and rearview mirror hate me. I'd say that your upper end is the result of the box, because sealed, I have no problems from subsonic up to the crossover point @ 100hz. I love my IA Kef

Review, NAO! Looks nice man, I can't wait to get my second one in. Ain't gonna happen anytime soon though, trying to move..... Kef

Why 3 though? I'm just trying to grasp your reasoning behind it. Your shipping costs would be higher, and you'd have less than ideal airspace versus a pair. You'd also have headroom with your gains on a pair versus 3 on the same amp. Kef

I'd say: 1. Yes, they shouldn't have any problem with that power, at least as long as they build them as good as the 187 I have, which I'm sure they do 2. I'm not certain, since I don't have any experience with them. 3. They have dual 2's, but whether they could do custom coils, you'd have to talk to Nick. I wouldn't see why they couldn't. Might change the T/S a little, but shouldn't be much. If you don't mind me asking, why do you want 3, and why do you want custom coils? Cheers, Kef

So when is Sundown going to have a sweet looking shirt? Lol. Kef Sundown already HAD sweet looking shirts...they say Sundown on them! Wow, I never knew such amazing artwork was available for purchase. I must have one NOW! Kef

I'm in as soon as I have the money. The second 187 is on hold until we get moved though Kef

Just noticed this, but you are from Ohio as well. What parts? I'm from Zanesville. Kef

Pretty, aren't they? Kef

This. I love my 15 off 400 watts sealed. You'll be very, very surprised. Kef

You will be banned for all eternity if you don't post pixs This. What's going to be powering them? I don't believe I read that anywhere. I'd vote on a quartet of 40.1's Kef Well, since they are not IA brand, i will leave the name out, This is a Incriminator audio forum, i will only support IA product on here. But the amps i have are some newer amps on the market, pretty popular and will do about 4500 rms each. ( i have 2 of them) that works out to be about 2250 per DP. This is for a daily Street beater so that should work out pretty good. nothing wrong with saying what brand, IA is not like that, hell you chose their subs so I am sure they're happy lol. so what amps, and pics nao! I had 3 of them but sold one due to running 4 subs. IA or not, lots of power plus lots of cone area is a good thing. That should be a stupid loud setup, now that there's some pics, build pics and then meter vids or face the ban hammer. Kef

This. Any electrical been done or getting done? Kef

Other than maybe the port facing backwards, no. Why not subs up, ports back? What vehicle is it going in? It should be stupid loud, even if you don't give them much power. My single 15 sealed is stupid loud, and I'm adding more power and another sub Kef

Put that amp on them man, mine loves 400+. I wouldn't hesitate putting that amp to them, just set the gains right and don't clip the signal and you'd be okay. Nick told me they'll take 400 daily without any problem, FWIW. Kef
-
Very nice choice, you'll be pleased with them. I'm happy with 1 15" sealed with 400 watts, so a pair ported with the power to match is going to be just a bit louder I'm going for a second 15" sometime this month, a new amp soon, and a new enclosure to house both (aiming for 4.5 cubes for the pair). What kind of power you going to be using? Kef
-
2-3 sealed, 4-5 ported a piece tuned to low 30's, if I remember what Nick told me Kef
-
Uh, my 187 15" does plenty well below 30 hertz, thank you. On that note, Nick, everyone, I'm buying another 15 soon. I'll make a thread when I order it Kef
-
This. More cone area = your friend in this situation. The Wardens are awesome subs, but without more power and in a more optimized box (read: comp tuning), you'd be wasting the potential of the Wardens, IMO. Sure, the Wardens can sound good, but they are meant to get as loud as possible, and with you wanting to play music on them, I'd stick with the DP's. Kef
-
I was going to say, Nick told me 3.0-3.5, 16 square inches per cube, tuned between 32-35 hz. Mine is sealed, so I couldn't tell you, but when mine does get ported, it's getting IA spec'd box. Kef

Hell, I want to do something like this. I've been wanting to get into MECA with my friend Will in Columbus. Kef
-
I'd agree, the LI's would take that power better. Not saying that the 187's wouldn't take that power, but the LI's would be much more comfortable daily than the 187s. Kef
