    Incriminator Audio 187 Review

It is also tuned high for a daily sub, IMO. Mine is tuned at 30, because I would rather not have a big peak in response, I kind of like being able to hear my mids without needing an assload of power per side. As I said, that's just my .02. If it sounds good to you, then that is what matters. Kef

Just me, but it is tuned too high, hope that Directed has a SSF on it... Kef

    Incriminator Audio 187 Review

I killed my 187 with 400ish watts, in a sealed enclosure. Granted, it was slightly clipped and the box was a little leaky around the cutout. FWIW, I enjoyed my 187, but it is no match for my DR, but it shouldn't be at the respective price points. Kef

    40.1 still around

No, they don't. We also heard something about the 2nd edition of the Dirt Sheet and haven't seen it either. CES is/was going on. Kef

need some help picking an enclosure

If you are running a pair of subs, you want dual 2's. Either parallel/series or series parallel will get you your 2 ohm mono final load. Kef

Bigger volume will be a little bit better low end but at the sacrifice of a bit lower power handling. Kef

need some help picking an enclosure

The smaller, tuned lower should be fine. IA recommends 2.0 per 12, 30 sq inches of port, tuned between 28 an 35 hertz. 2.0 each tuned to 32 would be a good start. Kef

    couple DP 21" questions

I think that 1500 daily is a good start. Personally, I wouldn't do 2k unless you have the right box, set your gains right, and don't go apeshit with the volume. Then again, I killed my first IA Kef

    Picture Tour?

Nick, THAT is what I would want from a company. All you had to say was that the OEM customer would have a hand in things. The way you made it out to be was "If you OEM with us, you will not get to see how things are done, see progress, etc.". If I am going to be dropping serious coin on having products built for me, I am going to make damn sure that everything is the best I can get for my money. I already acknowledged your reasoning behind not providing pictures, and I applaud you for taking time out of your busy schedule to address these questions and comments. Now, when is the new Dirt Sheet coming? Kef
  12. I don't know if they will just sell you a basket/softparts. Best I can say is give them a call, it would be much quicker.

    Picture Tour?

Point taken, but how about a thought: suppose a potential OEM customer comes calling and wants to see behind the scenes. You can't provide pics, but another company can and will. Who looks better to te customer then? Not saying anything bad, but if I were in the market or OEM gear, I would like to see where it is being made, what kind of facilities and machinery being used, security in place, etc. OEM is a very expensive business. Vote for me!

Nice install, good to see IA getting some love. I hate the SMD forums though. Ugly design, too many ads, and to top it of Steve is a tool. I'll leave it at that. Good luck. Kef

Non disclosure agreements. Not to be an ass, but if everything is made in house, how or why do you have NDA's? You would think as a Made In The USA company you would be proud to show the others how it's done... Just my .02. Kef

    need help on system choice

The two 12's would have slightly more cone area, which means they would be as loud or louder off the same power. I suggested one sub though more for the impressive factor. People can't believe that mine is as loud as it is off one sub and 500 watts. It's really your call more than anything. I just threw my two pennies in. I think that whatever way you end up going you'll be happy with the IA products. Kef

    need help on system choice

I did a 139.2 in a trunk car with a single DR15 and 500 watts. My vote is a single DR15 or 18, whatever you have room for. Mine is in 3.0 tuned to 30. It's nasty Kef

So, I've had the sub for a little while now, and thought I'd post some pics, scores, and some thoughts. In the enclosure, built by thegreatestpenn, 3.0 net tuned to 30 hertz: The first time on the meter, at the headrest with the A/C on blast: The first time on the TL, I didn't get a pic of my dash score, but it was a 138.4. The second time, with the air off: On music (Flo Rida's Sugar): Trunk class results at the 1st show I went to: Now for thoughts/impressions/comments. First things first, it is really, REALLY, REALLLLLLLY efficient. I'm only giving it about 500-600 watts, judging by my voltage drops. To be doing that kind of score off such little power makes me happy Second, the guy who did the 144.1 did so with a single Fi BTL 15, SAZ-3000D, 2 Group 31 Deka's, 1/0, etc. I did mine with a bone stock electrical and the stupid 5/9 gauge kit from Wal-Mart. I think that I did fairly well for what I've got in the car. Third, it doesn't sound bad at all. It does have moments where it's a little sloppy, but I think that's more due to the enclosure than anything. But otherwise, I'm completely happy with my DR. Or both. My question for you is what has/will be done with the electrical, and what amps are you going to run? Is it strictly a burp box, or is this going to be a daily car? Kef

3.0 tuned to 30 is a nice enclosure for the DR15. I have mine in that volume and tuning, did a 139.2 in a Neon with 500 watts. Kef

I know, I know, I know. More power. That's all I am thinking. But without any electrical upgrades, I doubt it's going to happen. I've been looking at a new car, and it would help, since it's a hatch. Kef
