Maybe the 12's take up too much space? That'd be the only reason I'd switch, personally. Personally, for that price range, I'd look into the Tantric LD8's. They are right in that price range shipped.

With that equipment a 140 should be easy out the gate unless it is something terribly wrong with the install. Hate to be the one to agree, but I did a 140.5 with the equipment in my sig in a Neon. Something isn't right. Edit: Never updated my score in my sig, but it's on the MECA website in 2012, if you want to look it up. I guess since everything is subject to criticism then I'd say your score was low too. This was the guys first ever time on the mic. With the information given I am to assume he didn't really know his peak frequency since he claimed to be tuned @ 28hz and metered at 43hz. Hell my first time on the meter I got a 143.8 with a single 15" Obsidian on an AQ2200 at 2 ohm in a pre-fab. Check MECA website in 2013 if you want to look that up in AS2. Truth is as a competitor I'm glad the OP has come out and gotten his system metered because the sport has been in a slow decline over the past 20 years. Every competitor we can get is a new challenge to me. I'm sure he knows that he can do better and I believe he can as well. I just hope he sticks it out and keeps coming to the shows and gets louder each time. *** after edit *** OP - after reading this it had me go back to check my progress with last years numbers. They increased each show mostly lol Just keep up the work and you'll keep gaining. Show 1 - 143.8db Show 2 - 144.9db Show 3 - 145.0db Show 4 - 146.9db Show 5 - 146.8db (Not sure what happened here lol) Show 6 - 147.0db Show 7 - 146.1db (Tried metering on a different side at this show with no 2nd run) Show 8 - 147.7db I never said my score wasn't low. Way to take my post in the wrong way.

preorder pricing will end when the motors arrive or 75 percent of my order is preordered. If orders keep coming like they are I'll be sold out the first week of September. Damn, always a little late for me. I'll be ordering likely towards the end of September.
-
Any idea of when the pre-order pricing will be over?

Well, I was looking at DSP's and such, so if this will end up doing what I need/want it to do, looks like I may end up buying more than just an Ethos from you.
-
Yay, specs soon

Quentin, could you send me that file as well? I'd like to see if I'd be able to fit that in my Explorer Sport. If so, I may do the 18 instead of the 15 I was planning on. Edit: [email protected]

Thanks Sundown for having NO customer support
w00tah replied to BassBaller5's topic in Sundown Audio
Doesn't matter, there is still absolutely no excuse for this. Even if it was announced, the message they are sending to their dealers is that they don't care about them. Furthermore, it was mishanlded after the fact of actually making contact. Whomever answered the phone should have called Jacob or the person who makes the Nightshades and informed them that they need one assembled ASAP and overnighted. That is the only way to make this right, given the OP's comments are the full truth. So, basically, the ONLY way that Sundown can have good CS is to make sure that nothing ever goes wrong. Furthermore, they have to be at work, at all times, to make sure they can answer the phones, emails, and such, 24/7. They also have to make sure that things are fixed immediately, including warranty claims. To me, it sounds like Brandon was trying, by him telling you that they had to file that claim with FedEx, and the NS guy is out for a week as well. Even had he been there, the claim still has to go through. For you to just basically be like "Well, that's not good enough, so you know what, eff you and your company", it's no wonder he said what he did. There's only so much they can do, they are human after all.- 51 replies

Sweet. I'm asking because I'm set on running an Ethos, but I'm debating between 18 or 15. I have an enclosure already if I go 15 (3.0 net tuned to 30). Although, I want to do something different, and 18's are certainly different around here...
-
Specs yet? Inquiring minds want to know
-
Didn't happen to pull specs from it yet, have you?
-
I had mine in 3.0 net tuned to 30hz with ~45 sq inches of port on about 2kw daily. It didn't do bad at all

This is what Nick told me in an email back in February. Nice. Wonder what kind of power handling and price on them. I'm leaning more SQ-ish with my new build, and the "old" Flatlyne was one of my main choices. Hoping this new one will be even better.
-
So is there a new version coming? I loved the one I heard, and I'd like to see whether the new one would be in contention for my install or not.
-
Doesn't explain the lack of images for the "new" ones.

The old line was 1000 RMS, the new 2013 line is 1500. SSA carries the new line.
-
You guys will see my new build later this year, I'm going to be putting a DP21 into my Explorer

no clue on the actual topic but possibly not getting help cuz of the way you ask... maybe you're in a rush cuz you're doing this for someone else but a bit more on the courteous side might help.... I saw your second post as rather d1ck-ish and maybe others did too.... So between his first post and second post, it was 8 hours and 34 views. Then after he got a response (the next morning, mind you), he waits and posts the next day (March 14th) then posts almost a month to the day after no response, and he's the dick? OP, just FYI, this subforum is REALLLY slow. This is from my own experience with Incriminator over the last 5+ years, if you have a question such as this one, call them. 95% of the time, their email response is slow as hell (if at all), and this forum just doesn't get the attention it used to. Nick and the gang are really helpful, at least they always have been when I've called.

Make sure you amp them. I have a pair in my Neon, and they scream when they have substantial power on them. I have mine on an RF P250.2.
-
So my friend Roger decided to throw his LI 15 dual 4 in 3.0 tuned to 30 and his APSM-1500 @ 2 ohm into our friend Kyle's 2001 Mountaineer for giggles, and asked me to put it on the SPL Labs. Results were not shabby: 134.10 on Air Forces 134.66 on a 43hz tone This was with stock alt, battery, and a shitty Walmart wire kit. Just wanted to share the results. Not bad for a amp/sub/box that's less than 400 bucks

This, I'm waiting to see what's coming from my favorite sub company

There are a few of us out there. My most recent scores were a 140.5 in S2 and 119.3 in DB2. At that show, a kid was there with a Probe with 2 Death Penalty 18's on an AB 500.1. One of my good friends runs a Lethal Injection 15 on an APSM-1500 at 2 ohm in his Subaru.

Underpowering isn't bad, as long as the signal is clean. The tendency of people to up the gain to make up for lack of power is where trouble comes in...
