So you never put sealant in the inside of your boxes? just glue on the edges?

Do you have to sand? just curious.. and also, i really dont want to carpet my box, but i saw a nice paint job, real thick and protective it seemed on a freinds box. almost looked like a rhino bedliner, any idea what i could do for that?

    Bl 18" BOX

I have made up plans for a 6cu ft box, after port and displacement. The port would be 4" Wide and tuned about in between 33 and 34hz. If i made the port 5" wide, it would take the box all the way down to 5.1 cu ft or so to be tuned to 34. The port would be 21.5 in tall. It just seems to me that 4" is small, but then again thats a lot of box volume to take up. I'm really hoping i'm just more worried than i should be about port size, and the 6 cu ft will work out. Any suggestions?

    18" Bl

Yes i read the sticky at the top of the page, but i just wanted to see what people thought. I haven't bought anything yet, but what about a hifonics bxi2006d (yeah i know its not sundown or anything), at 1ohm (1800-1900 watts im guessing?), on a bl 18 with p chamfer and flatwind? would that be enough to handle 1800 rms? I know i could turn the amp down, but i wanted some input.

    18 BL owners.. help!

I need some help. I don't have my bl yet, and i was wondering if anyone on here knew how much clearance i should give my soon-to-be 18. I want my box as big as possible, but the last thing i want is for my baby to hit the passenger seat

    18 BL owners.. help!

Funny. lol i know it doesn't sound like too bright of a question, but i'm workin with a 99 dodge quad cab (those cabs arent big at all) and i'm only wanting to take up two seats. And living in southern indiana i've never been able to see an Fi (just live my dreams through youtube until i get one), so i dont know how far they come out of the box or anything

    Best tuning for 18" BL

Alright so im going to have a pretty big box in the back seat of my quad cab, 35w 31h 17d before displacement of the sub and wood. The cab in a 99 dodge really isnt big, so its a big box and big sub in a small space. What do you think the tuning should be? i want it to get loud and low, and i was thinking 30hz. (actually like 29.7 or something) opinions? Also the sub and port will be on the 31x35 side of the box on opposite ends. Or should i center the sub?

    Best tuning for 18" BL

Alright thanks i'll try that, anyone gotta different opinion on that? another question is, should there be a certain ratio to follow when making a port, like L:W, because i may have a problem with my 4x29 inch port...

    18" Bl box help

Alright so i'm going to buy an 18" fi bl before summer, but i want the plans for the setup before i buy. My box is 31"H 35"W and only 17"H, and will have a 3" port going along the 31"H, tuned to ~30hz. The sub will be on the same side of the box as the port, is that a problem? The only thing i could think of is that, im taking up 2 seats in my quad cab dodge ram for this, and because of the seat it will be set at an angle. Will the sub perform right, and what should i do, if anything, to my box since it will have the strain of an 18" sub on it. The only way i could get around this would be if i put it in the bottom corner opposite the port.. how does where i put the sub on the box affect sound? I know theres a lot to answer, but i want this to be right.. thanks everyond who answers. Also, i was going to use 3/4" MDF if that helps.
