I have a 12" bl loaded in 2.5 cubes and it booooooooomsssssss! very loud and impressive

Yeah I just receive my bl l12' loaded sub a few days ago and like the other guy I went out to several places to get it put into a custom box. When I walked into the store #1, the rep said he could give two reasons why I shouldn't have paid for that sub.......never got the reason either. He quoted me like 250 for 2.5 cubes? I explained that I am saving up for a Sundown 1500. Again he tried to tell me that he never heard from anyone named FI or Sundown and should stay away from online companies......he asked how many watts will it hold? I said it is recc. for 1500watts so he tries to pull off the shelf some other amp which was like $999.00, and tried to sell it to me (and it was like 500 watts or something) and totaly was downing Sundown because he never heard of it.....needless to say, I left. The next guys shop I went to, the guy was much better and proffessional too, but he was totaly blown away by my Fi bl sub. He did say that it reminded him of the old basket design of I think he said Legacy? he installed and was impressed too. Sent him to Fi's site. I want to say that this single sub in a custom 2.5 box tuned to 32hz. is totally way better than the two alpine type r 12's in had before. Probably twice as loud and twice the low end tones too......I am very impressed with my purchase from FI and I tell everone I come in contact with.....I am currently trying to figure out my new camcorder and make a video to up load .....coming soon.( may have to ask for help getting it posted)......................G

I hope this is posted in right place.... Two questions: 1.) What is the RMS and peak wattage for a single 12" BL with the dual2, flatwind, daily and pchamfer options? The reason I am asking is because I seen on Fi 's site that it says 1000w/rms, but everyone is highly reccomending the sundown 1500d (which i am about to get.) So, why is that so if it is only rated for 1000watts? Does adding those options bring it up? I had a new custom box built by Sound Advice here in florida and the guy who was instlling it says to me that I will not notice too much of a difference in swithcing from a RF Punch 1000w/rms amp to a 1500 watt/rms amp ( in this case to the sundown 1500d)..... 2.) is this so?????? because i was about to purchse one soon. ...................G

Hey thanks bud for all the advice.....i went to a local Sound Advice shop here in central Florida and paid to have a custom 2.5 box built ti FI spec. I did bring up the subject of this noise and let the tech listen to it in the shop.....we discovered that the noise was due to the outer rubber ring of the speaker was not completely sealed and screwed down to the box therefore allowing the air to escape and make the thick rubber ring vibrate and make noise, the louder I took the music, the lounder and higher pitched the sound became...we then pressed down firmly on the rubber piece and the noise dissapeared......also keep in mind this is the only box I had at the time in the garage here and it was old and really filled with screw holes too..... But, thank you to everyone for their speedy response and suggestions ( and beleive me I considered all of them too being pretty new to thisstuff)....good to have all you come together on a problem with help....thanks! ..............g

yeah metal sounding kind of like poing poing poing, i did go to audio unit at best buy and they said it was the box making thwe noise, due to being to small, air pressure something.......G

okk thanks everyone...you guys are great! I did just go to best buy/geek squad audio install unit and the guy said it is my boxmaking that sound..i currently am saving for custom box to be built, but now have the sub in q-logic (ported) bx 1.25 sq./ft (i knw what your going to say, but am on budget)...so as for now I beleive it is the box rattleing apart. g

(copied from e-mail earlier sent to [email protected]) hello, I jsut purchsed a 12" bl with pchamfer, dual2, and flatwind options recently from your company recently.....UPS delivered the speaker on wed. 3/5/08 at 5:30pm. On friday night the 7th I stuck it in a single box for a single 12 and hooked it up to existing amp (rockford fosgate 1oow/rms). Today Saturday I went for a drive to really get a chance to listen to it other than in my neighborhood and I can here a kind of like " pinging" sound....I went home and opened the trunk to get a better listen too and it is even louder in the trunk...it is coming out of the speaker itself!! Is this a "blown" sound? how could this be? I just got it! What should i do? It was shipped out on the 25th and I did notreceive it until the 5th. Why was it so long in shipping? Could something have happened in shipping process? When I was tracking it online, it said the package was redirected? Do I have to send it backalready? If you need any more information, please let me kno..............G

anyone have suggestions for some badasssssssss bassssss that is not rap related(hate it...sorry) bass rules...may be stupid but currently only have old techmaster p.e.b., bass mechanik, and dynamix II...which i like. any suggestions for music along the lines like stuff like mentioned? any help appreciated! eslap that was funny, what is stickie? how to find?

Hey thanks alot sir....I would like your opinion on some of your amps......x Which is the better way to go, one 1500 on each 12"fi bl loaded sub or save up and get the 3000d to power both. I know i might sound stupid but the reason I ask is because i have only got one 12 fi bl loaded sub at this time and I want to buy a re-furb 1500 from the link you sent me, but dont know if it is good to only have one amp one one sub or the big monster 3000D to power both which I do not ahve at this time, but will get once saved. If ok I will buy a second 1500d amp once I get all the stuff it will need (electrical and all), unless you think that is dumb anbd should save.....which will only take longer to make a purchase. I hope you understand all this.....car audio idiot/newbie.......G
