Hell Q- since you are bored.... If you had 50w x 20T x up to 48L, Subs and port forward. What would you do? We had talked about tuning to 22 for the flattest response...(IIRC)

My Rockford amp
Lee Carter replied to Heisenberg's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
That is cool!! Love some gut pics... -
So far I love it. The interior is far nicer than anything I have owned before. Plus I am a LARGE guy- 6'1" 400 lbs. My lil Zuki was a tad tight.LOL. I forgot my other plans for it. Needs a new Windshied- it is cracked.(The sales lady advertised it for 2 grand less than the dealer wanted...so they had to honor it. But would only sell it to me as is) Front inner fender is damaged- but the replacement part is in the bed. Then- Tint the windows Drop it at least 3" in front, and do a self leveling air ride out back. Probably run 22's with some 285/45's. Probably do the chrome grille and tailgat handle cover Maybe smooth and paint the rear plastics

Jeep Wrangler build (4th order, Octaport, under window line)
Lee Carter replied to Miles's topic in Build Logs
sweet- love TJ's. Like the bedlined box and the stained pot too- looks very nice. -
I was space limited to 6.9 at 33. Same box I built at the beginning of this thread. I am thinking maybe I have the SSF too high on the nendo. I am at work right now without the truck. I'll try some different things when I get back in.

I was figureing that maybe the higher wattage helped to drive out the lower notes. The old sub would bounce the wiper blades on the ow notes...not this setup. BUT it still hits very hard. I am not complaining.

Happy born on date!

It is a bit strange honestly. Completely different sound than my first xcon...but it is at roughly half the power I had before. It sounds way more like the IA DR than it does the first Xcon. the 'higher' bass really tickles your throat...but it doesn't seem to like the low notes as much. I think it is power related. Thought about wiring it to 1 ohm....but I am not taking any chances on blowing another sub.

All the better i feel bout ordering mine. Bought a 07 Avalanche today....can't wait to start putting it all together. Looking forward to the next metering.

You should try to make the Fbody Gathering in ATL in may(memorial day weekend). It rocks...been to 11 straight.

I have to admit the new ford trucks are 'nicer' IMO than the new chevy's. But I don't buy new vehicles.... A couple of my coworkers have newer('11 or '12) F150 4x4's...the interior on those trucks are sweet(for an american truck).

the volvo is sick! The dishwasher is sweet too!

Woohoo, Just ordered a crescendo 1100.4 on their Cyber Monday sale! yay! That takes care of my amps. Now to pay off my DSS 15's I have on the lay a way plan. M5- Since you are looking a Chevy trucks....I have been looking at the Avalanche myself. I have owned a 04 Yukon XL, 04 silverado ex cab, and currently have a 01 Burb Z71. my burb has over 300K miles. I put a junkyard 5.3 in it at 297K. I love chevy trucks. ut I really like the 07-up Avalanches. I will have one by this spring. Probably where all this audio gear will wind up.

IA-20.1 Input/opinions from you guy's
Lee Carter replied to Heisenberg's topic in Incriminator Audio
Nice! I almost bought a 40.1 during the sale, bout ran across a Crescendo 3500 I couldn't pass up... -
man- the CF wrap looks real in the pics. got me thinking....lol. where do you get it from?
-
Makes me feel better...it sounds good for '1000' watts. for sure...we pounded it pretty good a couple of times. Anyone repair Skar amps?
-
It is something with the amp. Ran the RCA's to the Mid amp and had output to my mids. So then I pulled the Sub to check the internal wiring, looked ok. next, I drug out my box with my 10" redlines and wired them up...Nada. At this point I knew the amp was the issue. Well- guess what I JUST had arrive....my BC3500 I bought from Sean(W140). Wired the sub to 4 ohms and hooked up the crescendo. we had boom again. the crecendo at 'only' 900-1000 rms at 4 ohms slams the xcon. though it is only temporary. Now I did find something that was concerning to me...the Xcon I just recieved, is quite a bit different from my first one. My first one had triple leads ran under the spider pack, and the spider pack was black, and flush to the top of the recess. My first X- 18"D1 The new one is altogether different. First is the exposed leads. Looks like an Icon the someone posted a few days ago with a piece of felt to soften lead slap. The spider is down in the bottom of the recess. you can see bare metal were it appears to have been ground and scraped clean. I feel like it was reconed...Anyone else find this weird? I think Joe bought it straight from SSA, I could be mistaken. Pic of Xcon I have now- 18"D2
