LOL- I read the pages you posted on gary's thread...I still didn't understand. I am just dense like that.

I've bothered that poor man more times than I'd like to admit and he always comes through. I would take his recommendations on the Ethos' as gospel. C/S at its finest. Quoted for THE TRUTH. Quenten is da man.

I just read another thread on here...I am going to stick to my original plan- it was recomended by Q in the first plase...and he know his speakers best. Thanks for all the info. /close thread. lol

Everything I have studied for 2 hrs basically says you're seled side privides deep solid bass, while the ported/open end tuning boosts upper frequencies. Also read the open side is generally a 2-3:1 ratio. I looked at a formula for calculateing bandpass boxes and mind melted.LOL I have the room in my AV to try one- but I just don't know if I'll be better just sticking to my ported design. The 4th order bandpass would be easier to build IMO when you take into account that it would only be 1 hole through my 'show' baffle. Anyone interested in designing something for 2 15" DSS Ethos...48wx20hx deep as you need.
-
Thats because you don't have near enough port area... the smaller the ports- the shorter for the port length for desired tuning. I don't deal with port tubes...so i cant camment on how much port area you should have...but I SERIOUSLY doubt 14 cubic inches is enough for 2 31mm xmax subs. Edit: LOL He beat me to it....

Man! you could eat of those things. Gotta love some slow speeds. Our Cooper at my last platform ran at a whopping 250-275 rpm....but she would just chug right along. Looked pretty much the same, just not nearly so clean/pretty. The salty offshore environment is rough on the surfaces. Wish I had some pics to share. -

yep Bassink...that is what he said in the 10's thread. It just confused me cause I was under the impression that the Ethos 18's were coming sooner than this fall/winter...

There are several advantages, but they come at great expense in comparison to regular lead acid. Thanks for clarifying...I was confused for a moment. I knew that going from a standard Bat to a blue top Optima in my Vitara made a big difference in my lights dimming. But i done the Big 3 at the same time. -
Love German wagons for some reason. Looks nice.

You assume higher than rated power. It is quite possible that after rise his amp might be seeing more like 3.2ohms or so. I'm somewhat sure that i'd say there's ISN'T a full 5800rms going to this thing. I'd say if it did go overpowered that it wouldn't be by as much as you'd think. Ahh- I see. -

not sure if that was sarcasm or not....but I figure a year of pounding on much higher that 'rated' power is decent...maybe I am missing something being rather novice compared to you guys. -

So their is no advantage of running AGM's over Lead acid other than being leak proof? Wow- mind is blown.
