I think you should be able to fit at least a few clowns inside that box.. Now that would be funny to see.

So if I had an amp like the Massive P3000.1 or Directed 2400D, which would give 3000~ and 2400~ W @ 2 ohm respectively, they would last longer? I guess the Orion 2500D won't be any good to me. Unless I had two.
  4. I emailed a bunch of people about them and there in the nearest largest city, and they won't ship them to me..
  5. I have a Pioneer RX-560 home reciever, and speakers. Has MTX Thunder 3000 subs in it, thats it. right side is gone on the unit, only the left works. I was playing tones and it pops when I start stop the tones and a high pitch ringin out of the mids. I just use this thing to play music out of my computer, and I'm using 3.5mm to rca ran under my baseboard to the reciever and it is hooked into the aux. I'll have a video..
  6. Yea guys I think my reciever is finally taking a poopie. Its seems like it somebody is turning up and down the volume a lil bit even though its not being touched.. like it faints. How is this unit? http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=252-125 Not sure how I am going to power the two MTX Thunder 3000s. Plate amp I guess.

Haha. I'd only use it where I don't have a source of power and want some music.

    These are rather neat

I would say they were bottomin' out on 1000W... there only rated for 250W each.

This system would be nice while riding a bike, if you can do so with it on. try a 400w 12" woofer and 200w of tweet (50ea) on a bike lol thats me. Pix of bike? Have you seen the Tang Band oval 6x9 or 8x12" subs on parts express? I've never used them but I think those would be a good use for a backpack stereo cause they would probably fit in better.

4 hours on 30minutes of charge. (6 amp charge rate) 7 hours on 1 hour of charge Thats better than my iPod when it works.. Do you walk around with this thing on and listen to it?

Yeah I've been thinkin of doing something like this, kinda like a portable stereo... but... I don't know how I'd power it.

    Speaker wiring

I've never installed anything other than coaxials in the rear deck of a car... However with my new setup, I'm thinkin of going with 4 Mach 5 MLi-65s. theres going to be tweeters and x-overs aswell. I'm going to be putting one in each factory location. the other two will either go in the pillars, in the dash, or somewhere behind me ( reg cab truck, isn't a rear "stage" useless?) I'm wondering how to wire it up. just been looking at amps online and I'm wondering how it all connects. I have a Pioneer DEH-4900IB for a headunit, and won't be running active.... just a two way component set.

and after looking at the PG RSd's x-over I think I figured most of it out... rcas from deck>amp, amp>crossover, crossover>woofer/tweeter.

nevermind blitz. So what you guys are saying is I should get a passive component setup?

    Speaker wiring

I can't remeber what active means.. and I think I can't do it with my deck... You can't. Active means filtering is done prior to amplifying the signal. Each speaker needs its own amplification channel & processing channel capable of proper filtering. So what do you reccomend? I know you said 1 mid 1 tweeter per side.. I'm sorry...I'm tired and I'm dumbner than a plan right now.

Yah... I'll search what active means... edit... err... what you talkin about?

yeah.. I just dont want the rest of the sound to be overpowered by the bass of two SPL-12s...

    Speaker wiring

Well.. if I don't use the MLi-s I'll be using a component set, that comes with x-over, tweeters, midbass whatever.. something like the PG RSds or CDT CL line...

    2 Mach 5 IXL-12.2.2 or 3 Mach 5 MJ-18Ms?

    /thread. I've ordered my subs.
  24. Which would you use? I'm not sure what I'd use for power.. Depends on my electrical.... I'm thinking a Maxxsonics amp or Sundown..
