A month ago i went to a friend and i metered my car with a termlab. The number is impressive! 139.9 at 39Hz!! I didn't expect so much! Here is the foto: The box: ar: nissan sunny '89 sedan 4D no electric upgrades sub: alpine typer 1222d box: 2cf at 32Hz amp: sinus sla 1500 (1500w - 1ohm) HU: alpine 9812rb engine on at 2000rpm, doors windows closed, sensor on the dash

Older 400x & 600x....these were still good amps , right?
tasos replied to gentlejax's topic in US AMPS
I have the usamps 600x and i am pretty satisfied! Right now it's running a MB Quart PVF 216 component set. For a while i had it running a soundstream T4-15 bridged at 2+ohm (dvc 1+1ohm in series, but actually each coil is more than 1 ohm...) and it was moving pretty good! Here is a foto: -
With the 32Hz box the Alpine hits the lows much better, in the higher freq is ok and has very nice sq. With the 37Hz box the sq isn't that good. It hits much harder the higher freq, but in the very lows is just ok. Bettwen 32 and 37Hz box, i prefer the 32. The 37Hz bix is generally more boomy. I'll try a box at 34Hz. Maybe it will be the perfect for me.

A week ago i built another box for my Alpine in order to do over 140dbs. The box i built is 2cf at 37Hz and yes i did 140.4db at 42Hz!
-
Yes, 140dbs with 1 12" BL is possible.

Ok, typer isn't a pure SQ sub, but i like how it sounds. It doesn't sound bad at all. Hey Jim, is this the Great 12 Challenge that you are talking about? http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/forumdisplay.php?f=93

I currently have an Alpine typer 1222D with this box and this amp. I beleive that the sub at high volume takes over 1kw clean watt rms. (gain is set with a dmm, alpine 9812 (4v subout), volume 25/35, sub out 8/15, gain at 1/3 (5v-to-0.2v)) I'm very satisfied with this setup (i did 139.9db @ 39Hz, link), but i want to try something else... I'm looking for a 12" that will be louder from the typer (2-3db??) and has the same or better SQ. I believe that an Fi Q 12 or an AA Havoc 12 is what i need. Fi Q 12 --> 249

Welcome Lukas! (Lukas is a friend of mine )

Thank you all guys! @JimJ I'm happy hearing this So, the typer's SQ is at same level with BL's SQ? @shizzzon Yes i'm afraid the amp might damage the sub... i think 1500w daily is too much for the typer. With other subs (like soundstream T5-15) i had the sub out at 12/15. At this level the amp puts out unclipped signal (i'm pretty sure about this). When i meterd the typer with termlab i had: vol 25/35, sub out 8/15 --> 139.3 vol 25/35, sub out 12/15 --> 139.6 vol 25/35, sub out 15/15 --> 139.7 vol 30/35, sub out 15/15 --> 139.9 And at the end i set the vol 35/35 and sub out 15/15 and it metered again 139.9db. @bigjae1976 The Havoc at http://www.bladeice.com/havoc.php is only 10

You are right steve.

This box is fine. 3.8cf @ 33Hz with 63.75 Square Inches is ok. *In the subwoofertools site you don't have to fill the option two, with only the option one you are ok.

This is from this topic: link

Ok Adrian D -------- I forgot one box: That was for 2 earthquake tremorX 12" - 3.5cf @ 34Hz.

Here is all the boxes i have built for me and for other friends. 2cf @ 31Hz - kicker cvr 12 (this was my first setup ), Helix w12 competition, earthquake tremorx 12 2cf @ 33Hz - Helix w12 competition, alpine typer 1222D 2cf closed - soundstream T4-15 3.4cf @ 34Hz with 1st port and 3.5 @ 44Hz with 2nd port - soundstream T4-15 4cf @ 33Hz with 1st port and 3.8cf @ 43Hz with 2nd port - soundstream T5-15 2cf @ 34Hz - for rockford fostgate rfp-1212 (old model) 2cf @ 32Hz - Alpine typer 1222d (this setup i have now and i did 139.9db @ 39Hz) 4cf @ 35Hz - rockford fostgate T2 15D2 (i built this box a few days ago) other fotos:

Yes this is true. In the ported box it sounded way better... In comparison with T5-15 the T4 doesn't play the very low freq so good, it has a little better spl and can take more watts.
-
All the boxes are finished! Ι guess you didn't notice the fotos very well... If you are talking about carpeting, i don't carpet the boxes because i like them without carpet.

Welcome neighbour! (i'm from Greece)
-
Yes it's very good score at low Hz, but this is with around 1.2-1.3Kw (the voltage during the burp was at 12.6v). This is too much for a typer... Maybe i'll try to build a box at higher tuning freq and perhaps i will see even higher numbers...

Hey Scott, do you send your subs outside America? I live in Greece (Europe) and i heard that a guy here has bought directly from you an 15" BL, is it true? If so do you remember who it was? I am interested about an Fi Q 12, how much will it cost me? (including shipping and everything else) Thank you in advance!
-
Hi, my name is Tasos, i'm 22 years old and i'm from Greece (Europe). I'm busy with car audio for about 3 years. In my country we have created a greek caraudioclub. There are many guys here that are crazy with car audio. *My English is not so good. I'm sorry for this... I hope you can understand me and have a nice time here.
-
Ok thank you very much BILTD! One more question, do you send the Ascendant Audio subs in Europe, too? There are a few guys here that are interested for Fi and Ascendant Audio subs... Can you tell me how much shipping cost for an 12" Fi Q (for Europe)?

johnecon2001 I found some people hear with this name. They live in kolonaki, kesariani, ilioupoli and egaleo. Maybe it's on of these towns... Adrian_D are you from Transylvania - Romania?
-
O so do you have any relationship with Greece? Is your grandfather from Greece? I beleived that you used the google traslator and translated "Hi" --> "γειά σου"... BTW greek is a very difficult language...
-
Thank you guys for the welcome! @johnecon2001 It isn't one word "γειάσου", but 2 words "γειά σου" @Acidburn Why did you say "omghi2u!!1", is it because i'm from Greece which is so far from usa? @ecromeans What "salutations" means?
