I'm not sure if it his him or not. Maybe someone from sundown audio can confirm who it is since they are a sundown dealer. But Kevin claimed in the past he was from Tampa halfway down this page, post #8. http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-classifieds-old-replies-only/427504-$75-flat-fee-sealed-enclosures.html

woofers looks cool!

Well there's another ebay store in the same location selling the same products> eastcoastcaraudio. I'm not sure if it is his store, but I would think it would be hard to repair his customer service rep when still running multiple stores.
-
Why would he do that? He is taking trade ins for skar woofers. If he shuts down his ebay store it takes away one more outlet to sell the products he takes in. Besides if all he is doing is selling skar and reselling what he takes in, he should be able to keep up on customer service. And hopefully he's learned his lesson about no reserve listings. Which is what started this whole mess in the first place. His ebay store name is 1800woofers.

Denim did Kevin say if he will shut down his ebay store as well to concentrate on improving his customer service?
-
Actually no. We are not sweeping anything under the rug. Kevin has really begun to repair his reputation and improve his customer service. We did not decide on anything until he made his decision to refund the customers and make it right. Now that it appears he is working to turn things around, it is ok that SKAR remains for now. If we were sweeping this under the rug (like happens on other sites all the time), you would see topics deleted and posts deleted, but that is not the type of business we run or forum we lead, you can find that other places. Kevin now understands a little better in terms of the online world and I hope he realizes how important each and every transaction is. There still may be some changes, we take this stuff very seriously. haha. He finally refunds a guys money after a month and thats how kevin has really begun to repair his rep? Took him long enough to get the hint that people don't like to be scammed. and by long enough like 2 years. WTF?? Denim, he lies to everyone else why wouldn't he lie to you about turning his company around. Everywhere he goes he tells lies. Do a little research yourself, here's his other usernames... Subtils Audio/Hand Built Enclosures/audioimpactxx/Lambo911. Whatever is your companies name at risk, do as you please.

Looks like SSA will still be supporting Skar audio huh??? This is seriously pathetic, he tries to rip a customer off and SSA is gonna sweep this under the rug because Kevin/Skar "promised to make CS a major priority and work to improve his reputation." Says a lot about SSA as company.

Your welcome. I'm glad you will be getting your money back.

cooling option or just p chamfer
SomeDonnieDude replied to lonelyprince24's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If your going to throw a bunch of power to it daily get the cooling option. You could have a slightly stronger motor without the cooling option, but what good is it when you cook the coil due to insufficient cooling. -
any word back from ups?
-
I agree 100%. Then Kevin can get my amplifier back (the one he sold to the OP), have it repaired and then send me my amplifier that I had purchased on eBay. Then he'd prove he is an ethical business man.

UPS isn't liable when the product shipped out is already broken haha. I have proof of Kevin S saying the amplifier was blown, as I posted in his for sale thread. I have screen shots and saved eBay messages backed up. First Kevin scammed ppl on ca.com selling boxes. Then Kevin screwed me over on 2 different auctions. Now he's trying to screw over the OP. And he's planning on going to UPS and filing a claim to get money from something that was already broken... is that insurance fraud?!?!?

Id pay the extra money for the sundown over the skars. Sundown has much better customer service and will care about their customers. Plus sundown is a proven company. The customer service from Skar is horrible. lol I deal with kevin all the time and he has been great perfect customer service Sundown offers good customer service yes. Skar audio on the other hand has one of the most crooked owners in the car audio business. Do some research about him, you will be very surprised. I didn't know anything about him until he screwed me around for a few weeks. To the OP, go with sundown to insure you have good product support in the future.

David @ **** can probably get you a recone kit. Very nice guy to deal with.
-
I like atomics products, but I hate talking to whoever picks up their phones. it's the same guy every time and he is VERY arrogant. One time I called them and asked if they could build me a recone for an APX for 1200w and the phone went silent for a good 15 seconds, the guy was insulted that I wasn't going to be running 5000w to this single woofer. Hayes, this post was unnecessary, please refrain from slander unless you have personally dealt with me. I am a very honest and trustworthy seller here and deal with tons of customers daily Your an honest seller? haha i just got a good laugh...

I have an Atomic APX 818 motor (3" coil/ newer motor with a bumped backplate). Needs a recone, anyone ever reconed one with different parts than atomic? I'm looking to build either a 15" or 18" that would do well on 1200wrms daily on music. (amp is an AQ1200D) If any dealers read this or anyone who can build me a recone feel free to send me a PM with a quote for both a 15 and 18. Looking for a loud daily sub. Dual 1.4 or similar coils preferably. Thanks!
-
which sub will be louder of the two?
SomeDonnieDude replied to bassmaniac's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
This doesn't really answer your question, but on another forum I get a trustworthy member really liked the way the 13av2 performed. I haven't heard anything bad about the eD sub, but have heard very little about it as well. -
There would be no real benefit to having 2 boxes as opposed to 1. It could make it easier if you had to haul some stuff around and just need to free up a little bit of room, then you could just slide one box out. If that's not an issue, just make 1 box. If anything I would imagine 1 big box would play better, due to both subs having the exact same enclosure, but it shouldn't be audible if not.

I have 500w on tap, but I'm not planning on using all of it, maybe 300~400 on regular basis. Do they really need 30+sq inches of port? Not doubting you by any means, but that's allot more than what I was expecting.
-
Just picked up an original 12" Assassin, single 4 ohm, ones with stamped steel basket. I'm looking for the best SQ I can get with ported enclosure, as i listen to all genres of music. I was thinking 2.0cf @ 32hz? Going with a slot port so how many sq inches of port? Going in the trunk of my grand prix btw.
-
Where can I get a new surround for a 12" icon? How much are they? Will it be hard to replace witht he fact that they have a paper cone?
-
Nice. I assume thats with he same amount of power? Hows the sq with the new box compared to the 32hz box?
-
The price on the refurb CVX is really nice imo on ebay. You can get one shipped under warranty for under $150 shipped. Maybe look into an Audioque SDC2.5

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Elemental Designs 15" SPv.2's. I'm unsure of what box to put it in. I have it slapped in an old box and it's about 3.05cf@32hz with 36sq inch slot. On icix I've heard anywhere between 3-6cf and anywhere between 22 and 40hz. The only specs I know is the RMS is 1200w and it has 28mm xmax. Think the FS is 26hz? It uses a TC9 motor and standard 12 spoke basket. I contacted ED and they told me they never released the T/S for the sub, and that's some BS! I'm looking for some LSQ, hit hard around 30hz and not sound out of beat on rock, but loud on rap. I was recommended 50-55sq inch port, but that seems as if it would be too sloppy. Don't know what to do so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?products_id=363
