You probably got the terminal hot and got some solder down around the basket or melted it in the midst of your tinsel repair thing... Did you zero your meter out to be sure?

Intrested in a pair of Fi BTL 18" but need some info
NDMstang65 replied to KnowledgeStick's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
You are wasting your time modeling BTL's... That box program will tell you to put them in a sealed box. Go to the technical section here on our forum, read the BTL sticky and stay within those guidelines and you will be fine. Those recommendations work fine, they are what we have found is best for the speakers for a daily driving scenario. Regardless of what that box program says, do NOT follow it. Ps..good luck getting ahold of an LMS, you must figure that you are paying over double what a BTL would be...why anybody would pay 2000 dollars for a speaker is beyond me. -
It's on the website too under 'Tech'

Internet has been out at the shop for nearly 3 days now...we're crippled there until it gets back up..hopefully today the internet people will get the stuff working again. Sorry for the delay, you should have an email from UPS Quantum View as soon as we get internet back. We do not email you the tracker, UPS does. Thanks! Nick

Wait, I thought you said you only had 1 of the Hifonics amps? Those amps do power at 1ohm, if you plan on getting a second one and running each sub with one then you need to choose dual 2ohm coils and wire them in parallel on each sub to each amp.. -

That Hifonics amp will not do 2600w, with the grace of God, Allah, and even Buddha and a lightning strike that thing will not do 2600w . You MIGHT get 2kw out of it on a good day when it is feeling froggy. If you only have 1 of those amps you are honestly wasting your time with the BTL's. You would have to double up with another one of them or look into another much bigger amplifier all together. You are also wasting your time putting them in a trunk install...you aren't going to get anything but trunk rattle and body panel flex. Ideally you would need a legitimate 4000 watt amp (if not more, Rockford t4000 etc.) and a half wall at least if not a full wall setup to accommodate the BTL's... Just a heads up. Thanks! Nick -
I haven't heard anything from you?

Check your spam folder. UPS Quantum View emails you. We do not directly email you with the tracking number. Every day the 'end of day' is done and all the tracking numbers go out to the email that you supplied when you ordered off of the website. Keep in mind we do not work on the weekend. Orders after 12pm are not processed until the next business day, Orders placed on a Friday is not processed until the following Monday. Typical build time is 5-7 Business days (Monday - Friday), then they ship. You should have an email from UPS with your tracking information. Thanks! Nick

Coding is done... Fire away!

Still is no guarantee that we can recone it... Get a set of digital calipers and see if the coil that you have in that thing was 3.000" If it was weird like 2.908 or something of that nature we will not be able to recone it..and you are wasting your time. Also not 100% sure if that motor could support an 18" assembly anyhow.. Thanks! Nick

How different are the "NEW" BL's compared to 08 model?
NDMstang65 replied to newls1's topic in Fi Products
We're not going to come out with a new version of something if it isn't worth it Thanks! Nick -
If you control everything there is less mistakes, you don't have to worry about stray 'reps' and so forth. Nor do you have to worry about 18 different price points. It is what it is It's simply how we want things to be and how we have things planned out . AA is geared towards the dealer network 100%, Fi is 100% direct only and that's how it will always be. (With the exception of international distributors)

If you'd like to do a FisherCustoms box with your Fi sub then..cool...they do great work . We will not be doing the loaded/combo/buy on another website deal . Sorry! -Nick

You'd have to send it in...still not guaranteeing that we can do anything with it though. Odds are we can, but not 100% sure.

Coding on the website..not the subs. We're editing the images and stuff. The subs are fine, they're ready to go. We're working on getting the coding done for the 15 and 18...it'l be up soon. Sit back..relax..
-
Coding isn't done for the 15 and 18 quite yet. We're working on it, sit back and relax.

Yes it's normal. Thanks! Nick

Never know what might pop up when... Kinda just how we are The 2009 BL's are up...so that's new..

If your silly with your settings..no it wont take it and it'l break. Speakers are dumb, they do what you tell them to do via your volume knob and the gains/settings on your amplifier. So the real question is, can you have enough control to run that amount of power on it? If you are mindful and know what you are doing there isn't any reason why it would not. Please note that warranty does not cover abuse or burned coils.
-
Sorry you'll have to sell that one and buy two new ones or try to find one of the older motors and have it reconed. Thanks! Nick
