Fi Q 10" sub Warranty Claim Cant get response from FI

Everything on the 'Other Recones' page is exactly backwards...I still cant believe that people can't figure that everything is mirror imaged on the page. You are looking for the ER X^3 recone....so long as it's a 12 spoke or 4 spoke basket sub we can recone it..if it is the new boat anchor style xxx we can't do it.
-
If you want to use a sealed box with the new SSD 12 then choose the high qts model and follow the box guidelines in the tech section... Right off the top of my head..I don't know what it is.
-
It's on the website..look on the recones section If its not on there for what you are looking for..email me.
-
Info should be up on the site over the weekend..if not Monday. Probably look for them to start shipping around the end of the month if not the first of April.

Really bad idea to give advice like that. What happens if you have to drive the amplifier into a square wave to get that voltage out of it?...then it isn't 600 watts at that point... Ohms law will get you in trouble if you use it like that, you completely disregard what kind of voltage you are getting out of your head unit which is what the entire point of matching the gain with. Not a "wattage" setting out of the amplifier into a DVOM that is not an oscilloscope...so you don't know if you are square waving it or not..if you clip it..it will burn.
-
Probably if you have to ask the question...then odds are you probably shouldn't do it...and will likely result in a broken sub. There's a huge difference between having power on tap and not using it (Headroom) and having power on tap and abusing it... 10 cubic feet throws up red flags to me anyhow...the larger the enclosure is the more your mechanical power handling goes down...you can't run tons of power with a big box daily driving regardless, unless you have the experience to do so.
-
Definitely will..gotta get the guy to go through the coding logic on the recones because there is an open bracket somewhere. We're working on getting the balance of all of the BTL orders out so we're focusing all of our energy on getting product out first before we fix that ..hopefully we'll have it fixed on Monday. If all else fails email me and i'll get you a recone going in the meantime.

and to boot it's made here not overseas! When the Q's are ready they'll be on the site..just a few more things to work out after we get the balance of the BTL orders on the UPS truck...it takes time when we're back ordered that much!
-
What happened was the hats came in and the embroidery guy messed up and they looked very shoddy... I don't want to send anybody anything that I wouldn't be willing to pay for myself..and crooked stitching and lettering that isn't centered/bunched isn't tolerable...could have very easily sent the hats out to fill orders but I didn't feel comfortable doing that as I would be pissed as all hell for paying for a hat that looks jank.. Just don't believe in screwing anybody over...it's worth the wait to have something done right. To this day people still think we don't build these things and slap a UPS label on a warehouse full of boxes and out the door they go..which..baffles me..
-
We make the shirts as well, and you probably ordered a hat that we didn't have in stock...had some overseas vendors buy like 15 hats one day...we don't embroider them ourselves so again, waiting on a vendor to get them done.

I guess nobody reads these days... We just got magnets in for the BTL's yesterday. We are stuck at the mercy of customs as there are NO magnet manufacturers in the US..so we have no choice but to import them. I can't call a "friend" in customs and tell them to get us the stuff faster...due to the density of the magnets they are always x-ray'd and because they can't see through them they always go through manual inspection. Sometimes this can take 3 days..sometimes it can take 3 weeks if they want it to. We're at the mercy of them there is nothing we can do about it. I don't think anybody understands that we have nearly 200 BTL's that have been ordered over the period of time that we have been out of stock of the magnets...orders are filled and built in the order that they were received... There were HUGE flashing red letters on the website saying something to the extent of 30 DAYS OUT ON BTL ORDERS FREE COOLING DURING THIS TIME PERIOD... There's also a thing in the "Terms and Conditions" that you "read" (or supposed to) that says we try to stick to a 7 day build time...that doesn't always happen... Relax, we've got it under control. We don't have a phone because we actually build these things..there is no reboxing...there is no repacking..we BUILD them! It takes time...we cant spend 10 hours a day on the phone..then NO subs would get built

Hm...now it's throwing an error when calculating shipping....the web guy may have messed with something yesterday. I'll look into it.

1/4 20 is fine. You don't need anything bigger then that..hell i've used drywall screws for years and in sheer those things are VERY weak..but i've never had a problem. I would use something along those lines if you feel you must use bolts..and most thieves won't carry an alan wrench..

Works fine for me...you clear your cache and cookies?

4 18'' fi btl fully loaded enclosure dimensions?
NDMstang65 replied to homisydal's topic in General Fi
Saying that is like calling somebody 4000 miles from you, saying you need a pair of shoes, and telling them nothing other then you need a pair of shoes. Geometry..very simple basic math..it's nothing more then calculating volume of a cube or a rectangle . So..get your tape measure out..go to home depot if you don't have one and buy one..and give dimensions. The "I need a shoe but I don't know what size" bit isn't quite going to cut it. Welcome to the world of DIY...where you actually learn how to do something yourself instead of getting it handed to you! -
Don't want to sell something that we aren't 100% ready to sell. I believe the SSD's are up on the site...the Q's will probably be a wee bit longer...had a few kinks to iron out.
-
That's why I'd use 1/4 20's.. You have to trim the washers (chuck them in a vice and grind them down with a 40 grit flap disc) if you use them so they don't hang on the basket and on the surround..depends on what size basket you have as well. the 18's are a lot easier than the 12's and 15's.
-
Not ready for ordering quite yet Soon though!
-
You are going to tear the surround up if you use a bolt that big unless you use a allen head bolt and a washer...
-
I'm not sure what you ordered...but if you ordered BTL's we do not have magnets for them anyhow and are waiting for them to arrive. Nobody has heard anything regarding any orders for those subs as everybody knows that they will not start shipping until the end of the week at the very earliest. I'll look up everything tomorrow and try to figure everything out for you as soon as I can.
-
Well here's the problem.. The parameters will not be the same on these two subs as the two subs that you picked up with the copper coil. The top plate inner diameter and gap is different for the copper coil and flat wind coils. Ideally it's going to sound really weird and give odd results if you put copper coils in these motors..but it's going to be even weirder with the other subs that are done the way they are supposed to be done... I'll try to figure out something for you and give you a call tomorrow.
-
Relax man..weekend...business hours/days are M-F 9-5. You have SSD's with flatwound coils in them...you ordered copper coil D2ohm recones for them. Here's the issue, the copper coils will not work properly with the flatwound coil gapping....do you have other subs that you are trying to match these with? Also it looks like you bought one..and sent it back in with out ever mounting it or using it...
-
No.. Every order is built to order once the order is placed and payment has cleared. Nothing is done until payment is received...because they are all machined and built according to what options is chosen.
-
If it isn't a flat wound odds are it's a copper. 99.9% of people who ordered a SSD got a copper coil if they did not get a flat wind. The SSD sounds horrible with the flat wound coil in a sealed box on the 18..really peaky and ringy. The extra mass tames the motor back down to where it is acceptable to listen to..which is why we recommend it.
