how much power can i throw at at fully loaded BL 12???
NDMstang65 replied to djteks's topic in Fi Products
Depends on the loose nut behind the controls...speakers are stupid and do what you tell them to do. Having your gain at "50%" means absolutely nothing. 50% and a 5v deck..would mean that you are clipping the immortal hell out of it... -
Waste of time..as that is considering the woofer in an anechoic environment..which a car is definitely the polar opposite of that. Stick to our box guidelines, it is what works best for our subs. Just use WinISD to calculate the port if that is what you are going for .

I've got a BTL in my home theater.. It sounds fantastic... What it boils down to is the loose nut behind the controls and how to tune things. But to say it sounds like crap is completely wrong.
-
If it wasn't superior in every way then it would make no sense to make a new one and spend money on new forging's etc. It's better...in every way. Tons of more options...more ways to make things to suit you.

What is this? 1" plastic inside my subwoofer box
NDMstang65 replied to shizume112's topic in General Fi
Nothing that we have..definitely not a part of a sub.. -
Please don't try to take that off. It does not have a pole vent. Pole vents suck and do absolutely nothing. The only thing you are going to find under there is a bolt that is glued in and torqued down..that you are not going to get out unless you heat the motor to 800 degrees.

3-7 business days is how long it takes it to build...everything is custom built to order...this is posted EVERYWHERE!!! In the terms and conditions that you said you agreed to...flashing 72 point font red letters on the website...scrolling banners... You are looking at 10-14 business days from the day that you order depending on where you are located until you receive your sub.
-
Relax, office staff is out until tomorrow or Monday. Everything is still being built according to plan and schedule. They just have to claim it...which will likely happen tomorrow or Monday.

Throw the bass knob away, turn the bass boost off. It's ok for it to get 'hot.'..it's going to get hot. 99% of the energy you are putting into that thing is wasted heat. If it is starting to smell, then you have an issue and you are over driving the amp trying to make the sub take dirty power... Odds are you are clipping it trying to get more out of it then the amplifier can produce. It's no different then running an engine in a car lean on fuel.

We've had like 40 people want to change coils and all kinds of other stuff...most of them we've gotten changed...office staff is out this week which makes things hectic.. Need an order number or something to go off of. Thanks!
-
You can order one off the site...you just have to select your country as "Canada" It'l give you shipping costs and everything prior to entering your credit card information.. BTL's are on backorder still though.

Don't run under 1ohm. You're going to have problems.

If you don't need a funny car or a car that will hang a turn at 90mph...then you don't need it...so why pay for it? If you just need something to get you back and forth to work then the 'stock' one is fine...if you need something that is more custom tailored to you cutting a 90mph turn and not breaking loose then that can be done as well...but there's no sense in making you pay for that if you do not need it. Make sense?

Do you honestly think we're going to post up 4000 different sets of parameters? Noooooooooooooooooooooo way man. Not happening. They all work in the same boxes, thats why we say 'stick within these guidelines' If you are modeling something for a car in a box program you are peeing in the wind anyhow...it's going to net you worthless information and waste your time and not sound anywhere near as good as doing what we say to do. Speakers are simple beings...stick with what we say. There's nothing 'gimmicky' about it..it's the ability to order something that is custom built and machined for you..in house..in las vegas.
-
Doesn't do it for me? Still stays $244 when you put it in the check out...the additional charges are likely for shipping once you put your information in.
-
As said...we do recones 1 day per week the same goes for the kits...it depends on when you order it and what day we decide to do it. Generally its 3-5 business days.

NEED GOOD AMP
NDMstang65 replied to DCarter's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Only use an amp that has an adjustable subsonic filter. DO NOT buy one that does not have an adjustable one. -
Because we haven't done it yet... I told you we do recones 1 day per week. We do not want random stuff getting mixed up in production. When you actually manufacture something you do things in runs with new orders for a given period of days..everything is custom built to order. When a sub comes in for a recone we don't drop everything that we are doing and jump right on it to get it done in 8 minutes and have it packed back up and shipped out..that messes up flow process in the build facility. We'll get to it..recones are done 1 day per week and are not top priority as it messes up processes if we stop to do 2 recones in the middle of a build day... Having new orders go out on time or ahead of schedule will always take precedence on a sub in for a recone...that's simply how it is and it isn't going to change because it would make everybody's lives in the build shop and shipping department a lot more difficult
-
Just a budget 300 watt sub..nothing amazing, but works well for its intentions for those who don't have a big budget to spend on higher power stuff that you have electrical upgrades and everything else to contend with.
-
Big numbers and low tuning frequency doesn't happen because your car is only so big. Low frequencies have larger wave forms...therefore the wave does not have time to 'form' in a car..because it's only 4 feet or so from where the cone of the sub is to the mic.. Big ports tuned low will move massive amounts of air with a ton of cone area and will do 'hair tricks' easily.. But to say that any one thing is always definitively louder then another...is simply foolish
-
"professionally installed" means nothing I believe Scott emailed you yesterday about this..
-
Not at all the same...you couldn't run them together.
-
The new ones are a big step up from the old ones..and priced similar to the old ones when we were selling them originally. (not the get rid of these things Christmas price)
-
Aeroports are generally better as they have more of a round on the edge and you can use less of them and get better tuning and what not... There is no definitive answer for your question though, it comes down to what you figure out works best for your install... We set guidelines..this is a "DIY" thing where you really "Do it yourself"...if you stick to those guidelines you shouldn't have issues. But if you are worrying about this for a daily driver and not a car that turns numbers you are really wasting your time

Cut apart...and recone it.. Everything gets tested before it goes out.
