The big question is can you fit a box that big in the truck?
-
KU - that's at 4ohms at 100Hz. You never play 4ohms..or 100Hz with a subwoofer lol . What nobody understands is that a class a..or class a/b..or class D amplifier..is all right within 3-4% of each other in efficiency terms when they are all running wide open. You'll never see anything over 80%...just doesn't happen.

You don't buy subs here first and then build around them... You pick up everything else first and then build around the sub accordingly...It's the difference in purchasing something that is just 'off the shelf' and gets a UPS label thrown on it, and something that is a truly totally custom built to order sub.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaa

From the oompa loompa's that put them together.

To the OP: We can make recones for them, However I don't know the height difference or anything on that basket. The motors and soft parts are the same, but setting things up for a recone off of a basket that we do not have is pretty difficult... We may get you to send one of the SEx's in so we can measure.

Any idiot can glue a bunch of spiders together and make something mechanically take 2kw... Regardless, that motor design and platform isn't made for it. ...buy a 2000 watt speaker if you want one...it's like putting different suspension on a kia rio to go road racing..ok cool you can cut a corner now..but it's still a kia rio...it was never intended for road racing. If you want to go road racing, you buy a car to go road racing with..but that's the difference in somebody trying to make a buck and will do whatever you want regardless of how stupid it is, and one who really understands what is going on...we have reasons why we won't do stuff like that.

Aluminum..steel...polycotton..kevlar..some foam..some pulp...ferrite..some solder and glue.. Coils are aluminum, motors and poles are steel, some spiders are poly cotton some are kevlar, the surrounds are foam/rubber blend, cones are kraft pulp, magnets are ferrite...and CA glue and some solder . Is that what you are looking for?

what amp is it?
-
I'd pick up some wooden dowl rods to brace things internally...that sub will destroy a single layer box without bracing

Paypal sales at ficaraudio.com In the comment box make sure that you put what the payment is for, HC recone with integrated tinsel leads and what color logo on the dustcap that you would want as well. Also email sales and say that you sent money via paypal for a HC 18 recone, and put your contact information in there as well so we know where it needs to be sent. Many people send money with no information and we simply do not know what to do with it. Thanks!

Let us know how everything goes once you get it installed Thanks!

Put them in..see if they play. Then go from there. If you bought them new, you aren't holding your tongue right. Regardless as your email said, whatever you do..do NOT wire those things to .5ohm Any amplifier "manufacturer" that says you can run their amplifiers at .5ohm are completely retarded.

Takes time to build them...should have most of them cleared up this week.

You can get a recone for a Chaos..so it is a Chaos and not a Fi sub. Just let me know if you need it.

Your amp is turning off...and then clicking back on.

Not to beat a dead horse, but can you elaborate on matching tolerances?I'm just curious as to why, if their is no negative affect, why all of the subs wouldn't be made to be universal. Thanks for the quick reply though man. Because a tenth matters on a meter, to the ear it doesn't. It is just gapping differences on the top plate inner diameter...that bit of steel can matter to a tenth or two on a meter when you are competing. If you need it, then cool. If not the D2 gap is the standard universal gap as the D1 coil is smaller then the D2 on OD.
