Got a little down time waiting on food to marinate...hop in!

What it probably is..is a loose cap. Typically what will happen is the sub will move too much (ie leaky sealed box at first) which will stretch the surround back and deform the cone body..which will pop the cap loose if it doesn't just stay on there. Take it off if you want and you can re-apply it with a glue called the amazing Goop...can be had at autozone or any place like walmart. Comes in a blue tube.

That's really weird. Fill out the warranty card and send it in.

If you didn't get a reply to an email odds are we simply didn't get it. Internet has been a bit dodgy the past week.

Keep getting jerked around by our cone vendor on when we are going to have cones. We tell you what we know when we know it...if I don't know..because they don't know..then nobody knows and we all wait. It's something that is outside of our control.

Never run an amp below 1ohm nominal. Bad idea boss.

On the subject of steak...i'm anal as hell about how my meat is prepared. By 'definition' you shouldn't have to marinade your steak, but I found that using Dale's sauce is freaking amazing. Just flop the steak right in the sauce on a plate. The key to cooking a good steak is sitting it out on the counter for 3 hours and letting it get to room temperature while marinating in Dale's before you throw it on the hot grill. It cooks evenly, and the juices flow like butta. I've got a grand total of 5.80 cents in that meal with a 10 ounce filet and salad etc. Food saving meats when they are on sale and buying in bulk is the way to roll.

General rule of thumb is a pound per cube.

Still don't want to suggest people to use them for music...N2 is the way to go in my eyes.

Your Q isn't a flatwound coil, it's a partially flattened. BL coils are actually flat wire for the most part, nearly everybody selects that option for the BL.

Shipped the one when it was finished...the other one one took more time to do so it's a few days ahead of the other one.

Who's happy? He can't read, take it easy on him. Its funny though that Fi is still a cheaper route, money-wise, even with the US parts, higher quality parts, compared to other companies that outsource. That tells a sad truth doesn't it? Still blows my mind that people support the 200% + profit margin...for inferior stuff...that sends all of your money OUTSIDE of our economy. There is no economy here..if you send the money out of the economy.

what is the current wait time for the ib3 subs?

Yes it effects them as well. -
Since Fi basically has one of the cheapest prices out there, for the product they offer, even with a little increase, its still cheaper than any other USA made sub. I mean I hate to see a increase, because I was planning on buying one in a month or two, but still, its worth every penny. Fwiw...I don't think anybody else in the industry is using all American forged steel..and I know damn good and well they are not using an American made 18" basket either. (That costs us about 3 times as much as the Chinese one) ...and we're still cheaper then everybody else, and we do it all ourselves.

The price is due to the neo magnets itself...we've been eating it and taking it on the head for a few months now. Neo pricing has went up 6 fold in the past 4 months, for example a 10 dollar magnet 4 months ago is now a 60 dollar magnet. We only raise the prices up the difference in the cost of materials..which is completely out of our control.

Subwoofers and boats do not get along because you are trying to pressurize the earth at that point..most people end up yanking on the volume knobs and burning stuff up because they can't hear it...but they do not understand that 60 feet away it is very loud. Unless you've got some way of tucking it under the cabin or something you are going to have a hard time picking up volume.
-
Box guidelines have not changed...stay in that path and you are good to go.
-
You don't want a supergauss motor...that would be for 180dB+ spl tone bursts only. N2 would be the way to go depending on what power you have on tap.

what is the current wait time for the ib3 subs?
NDMstang65 replied to scarface305's topic in General Fi
Had some issues with the aneeling process for the steel parts. That took an extra week that we were not planning on so we're about a week behind from where we thought we would be on them. Relax, we've got the orders and we're starting to turn parts. One of our CNC's went down last week and snapped one of the ball screws so we're waiting on those parts to get in. -
I already told you via email (i think) that there's not a snowballs chance in hell that that woofer would handle 4kw to begin with.. Aside from that it's a crap shoot if we can or can not recone those woofers anyhow as the top plate geometry is totally random..like very few are the same.
