No..trying to put 1000 watts to the other coil while having the other one 'dead massed' along for the ride is what cooked it. 1000 watts is for both coils wired together...not a single coil.
-
Then you already knew the answer to the question that you asked.
-
We do not make the baskets man, the 10,12,and 15" 12 spoke is imported. If I had a foundry and made the baskets myself I definitely wouldn't be using anything remotely close to that.

Used pulp cones for the better part of 15 years now...

If you have a tracking number that means your order is assigned a ticket and is being processed.. Read the email that you got from [email protected], it is an automated message that explains everything to you.
-
You can change it, the D1 coil is smaller in diameter then the D2.. Regardless you probably swelled the coil a bit by having it wired the wrong way..which is why it is scratching. If that coil is black you definitely hurt it..i'm surprised it still works to be honest with you.

Or your crossover is turned all the way down and your subsonic filter is on..
-
Your jumper wire needs to be about 10" long or so to go from coil 1 to coil 2 (the blue wire in the diagram) Then your amp hooks up to the + and - respectively that is left open..

Marietta, Georgia- Mechman needs your help to stop a thief!
NDMstang65 replied to MECHMAN's topic in Mechman High Output Alternators
Call the shipping company, they can send a message to the driver on the diad board to not deliver it. -
Tell you what, email me your phone number. [email protected] and let me know when you have the sub out and I'll give you a call. The way you described it, you have it wired wrong
-
Take the sub out exactly how you have it wired and take a picture of it. It sounds like to me you have one coil shorted...and you have the amp hooked up to the other coil..which is not series. You have to have + of coil 1 hooked to the - of coil 2.
-
If you have a flat wind coil and it is brown or black..on 500 watts of power..i swear you have it wired out of phase. We can throw our big crown on it in the shop free air for days and never have a problem out of it, mechanically or thermally.
-
That's going to confuse him man..that shows positive and negative terminals in different positions, I've already made the diagram of what he should have the way our terminals are set up.
-
No, that's how all of them are. That's how we know if you have mounted it or not. None of our surrounds have the screw holes put in them, you gotta do that yourself. Make sure that you have the positive terminal on the sub as the one facing the left if you are looking at the sub with the magnet on the floor or table. There could be the odd chance that the wrong color sticker could have gotten put on the terminal itself on the bottom. Positive is ALWAYS on the left with the magnet on the floor and the cone facing the sky.
-
You should not be able to burn that sub up with the 500 watts that that amp can make.. You've got something really out of wack. Bass boost, volume knob...somethings up man.
-
For what it is worth, you also have the wrong voice coil for that amplifier. You should have gotten a dual 1ohm coil and wired it in series. So..if you are getting happy with the volume knob, bass boost in the head unit "Super bass eq" or simply cranking on things too much it will burn up... This is how you should have it wired.
-
You got a coil wired out of phase dude. You can't wire a dual coil sub in series and parallel at the same time, it's one or the other.

Got your order changed to a D2.

Haven't had a chance to call you yet. Will try to today because we need to go over your install.

How do I order FI Subs if I'm military at an APO?
NDMstang65 replied to KennethColeman's topic in General Fi
Will tomorrow, gotta re-figure what the shipping difference is going to be because the box is 20x20x14 instead of 16x16x14..which makes a difference. -

Oh yeah definitely not an issue there. The 18" baskets are made here in the states. -

You can send a second E-check, it's no big deal. Thing is if you do 18's you will have to wait on baskets until we get more of them in, which as of this minute I do not know when they are going to be ready from the foundry. We are supposed to call them tomorrow and find out a ETA. -
If the motor isn't machined yet I'll get it changed for you. Jess - I've emailed you with your tracking information, the sub is on the truck to be delivered to you today!
-
You should have got a tracking number from UPS quantum view (we do not send it to you, they do) to whatever email address that you provided on the website when you placed the order. It will not let you order without an email address. You would also get an email to that address from [email protected] with your order number and other information as well.. I need either the name it was shipped to or the order number (looks like I-XXXXX/00) at the top of the email that you got from [email protected]. Give me that info and I'll look it up.

It's not..just missed changing it.
