No. The purpose of the subsonic filter to act the same as a set of brakes on a car. If you tune your ported enclosure to 32Hz, that means that anything below 32Hz the port no longer resonates or keeps pressure in the enclosure and causes the sub to unload. If the sub unloads, you throw full power to it below the port tuning frequency which locks up the suspension, shred the spiders, pops the surround, and burns the tinsel leads up (look at a tinsel lead as the same as a pop top on a coke can, you can bend it back and forth within its mechanical limitations all day long..until hell freezes over. But, when you start bringing it past the mechanical limitations it begins to generate heat, and fatigues, and eventually rips off..this is what happens to the tinsels) An adjustable subsonic filter lets you set it at about 2Hz below the port tuning of the box so things roll off nicely. Otherwise, it is like driving your car with no brakes..and trying to stop, which does nothing but either cause you to get into a wreck or wrap your car around a telephone pole.

They are all 1500 watts, the webmaster missed the 18's when they changed the ratings. Only thing about the rockford amps is that they don't have an adjustable subsonic filter, if you go ported you will have problems.

Absolutely not, do not want a phone. I can understand wanting to talk to somebody..but it will not work for us. This is why. A 30 second question to reply to an email, takes 30 seconds to reply to it and it is done. A 30 second question on the phone turns into a 45 minute phone conversation. We would have to hire 5 people to sit there and answer the phone all day long. Those 5 people would have to actually know what is going on in the audio world and how things are done for very specific reasons in order to even be viable to help (We can't hire an Ashley and Verionica and a Lindsay to answer the phone and be worth while, tried that with RE..it did not work). Which would require at least a year of training for those 5 people...(which scott or I would have to do). Resulting in either Scott or I being completely unproductive with a phone stuck to our ear on the verge of putting a bullet in our head because said new employees do not know the answer to any questions, and people would end up talking to us anyway...in turn delaying the products going out the door even more because we do it all from machining to building and anywhere in-between. If we are not left alone to do what we need to do, then things simply do not get done...which snowballs everything else and people who understand how things work here and why we do strictly email would get mad because their orders would constantly be over 15 business days (because we are spending time on the phone that adds zero benefit, and does nothing but burn time) The phone would still ring off the hook, people would still get mad that they can't catch any body on a phone line and would be even more pissed off because there is a phone number that is not answered. If we ever do get a phone, it will simply have a message that says Please email orders for order questions, sales for sales questions, and tech for tech questions and not have the ability to leave a voice mail. In other words, if you do not understand why we do not have a phone..here is a number for you to call for you to be able to hear why we do not have a phone, email us. Another reason.. The cost of the product is going to go up significantly to cover those 5 peoples salaries, and it is not benefiting you in any way shape or form. I would have to remove all sharp objects away from the shop because the people answering the phone would be put in straight jackets and on suicide watch from repeating themselves time and time and time again due to 99% of people unwilling to read anything at all. (You would not believe how many people miss the 72 point font flashing red letters on the website that indicates lead times, and email as soon as they get a tracking number flipping out because it does not work) If we imported everything like everybody else does, and did not physically do anything other then re box stuff and maybe "Test" it when it came off of the container from China..sure. I'll sit there and talk on the phone all day long because I can pack 40 speakers a day myself..especially when it is simply taking them out of the box, testing them, and repacking them with a UPS label on it. Bottom line is, we physically do all of this stuff here. Nobody else does. If you want us to compete on price (which we are highly competitive, and STILL cheaper then the stuff that everybody imports) then this is how it is. If you want us to follow the lemming route and go order everything from China and sit back and collect 300% profit..we can do that too. That's really easy, but I would feel like a worthless boat anchor if I did not put in an honest days work and make an honest living actually doing something myself..instead of letting somebody else do all the work for me while I sit back and collect the money.

Relax. You ordered SSD recones...Scott had talked to you/you had talked to Scott, and got it changed...the guys in the shipping department did not pay attention to the change. Relax man. We will get you taken care of. It's our mistake...so you will have a re-cone kit that you can sell the other kit to somebody else who needs one for an SSD. The Q recone will go out on Monday at no charge, because it was our mistake, so sell the other one to somebody else or keep it.

Some have shipped..some have not. Which ones..off the top of my head I do not know.

The phones ring off the hook all the time due to some lovely people putting the phone number on some forums/internet wanting to know where their other products are for other brands and calling phone numbers that are strictly for dealers. (thank them for that) The voice mail simply says..call back. It does not say to leave a message, there are thousands of voice mails on that inbox, and we do not check them simply because it says to call back. If I could make the voice mail not accept messages I would, but it is not an option. My apologies that you have not been able to get through, but when the phone rings tons of times a day, and beeps in in-between calls the entire time you are on the phone answering questions that has absolutely nothing to do with Ascendant there is nothing much more I can do... We don't have cones to fix them (I told you this quite some time ago, we were supposed to have them two weeks after the last time I talked to you and they have yet to show up, our vendor does not know as they do not have them yet and that is the one cone body that we still have to import, we can not get that made here as it does not make economical sense to do so)...they've been on order for 3 months and we still have not got them and Scott is working on a solution to fix them with a different cone and get them together. As far as I know two were fixed and sent out quite some time ago, the others have been sitting collecting dust waiting for cones to arrive that have never arrived. When we are able to fix them, we will fix them and send them out, but you can not make a 3 inch cone to work on a 2 inch coil, the cone body is too heavy and it will not attach. ..there also isn't an ascendant facebook page, so whoever made that is simply some random person...who that is I could not tell you.

Use RMA 9/30/2011 Fill out the warranty card, send it in..watch this video...otherwise..yeah Self explanatory.

There is nothing inside of there..as others have said, magnets just do not fly around and re stick or anything of that nature. Nothing moves in that motor assembly.. Send the sub in, we'll check it out.

i have a quick question nick not even about this topic (sorry) but why is it that the recones that we get from Fi are not the same as the original soft parts that come on your guys sub's? "cone" "surround" etc.. ?? We constantly change things up soft parts wise, the recones you have now are the latest rendition of changes and are totally sourced from here. Oh alright was just kinda curious cause the originals seemed more heavy duty like cone stiffer and foam is thicker... and about the dual 2 coil comment being really dark i noticed mine are extremely dark when i got them today like a dark purple.. was kinda wondering if it was the glue or some type of thermal stuff cause my original dual 1 coils are like shinny copper lookin even posted a vid on my youtube channel Dual 1's are lighter then dual 2's..and those cones/surrounds are in an extreme vehicle on the 180dB mark so i don't think you'll have a problem with them. That dual 2 coil in that sub has been hot...it's nearly black. The D2s we have now in the last batch have been a darker brown color, but not black Alright i have another quick question nick is the Glue you guys use around the former to glue the cone to former diff than the normal solid CA glue cause when i touched it it liek smashes in and if still soft rubbery feeling and tacky didnt know if this was normal cause most of the others ive done are completely solid as a rock We used 3 different glues on our assembly...so yes, it is different.

Don't have a phone for good reason..if we had a phone and don't answer it more people will be pissed off and they will also be pissed when they have to pay 5 people's salaries to sit there and answer the phone all day. What was the order number, email me or post a picture of the recone.

Doubt that very seriously... Send the sub in and we'll check it out, it's extremely odd though..i've never ran across anything like that. That coil looks really dark though from the one picture that you posted...D2 coils are not that dark out of the box fyi.

Doubt very seriously if it is anything of the above, the gap is way too big for the coil to scrub and it would do it at low frequencies, not at high frequencies... You are positive you have your crossover set up properly?

...so when I find out from the foundry the day we are supposed to get baskets that they have not even made them yet..and it takes them 3 weeks to make the baskets, it's some how my fault? No. We called/emailed everybody that had orders in for subs that had 18's and told them that they are being delayed because we do not have our baskets yet. This guys ticket was completed, the shipping department missed the "YES" for the basket option on the ticket for the recone...he emailed, I replied back and said we do not have any, when we get the baskets we will ship you one...if he did not get the email, and I hear nothing until he hops on here..there is nothing I can do. I assume that everybody gets email that I reply to them, I do not have time to go through and read email receipt tickets to make sure everybody gets a reply. If I hear nothing back, I assume that they got it.

I replied back to your email and said that the shipping department had made a mistake and didn't ship it to you and shipped you just the recone, I also said that we had just heard from the foundry at that point in time that they were going to be delayed in being made... If you didn't get it, my apologies.

Those were flat pack recones..and it looks like dude did not put anywhere near enough glue on the neck joint to hold things together. We dont have those issues when we do the recones ourselves Need to know what motor you have in order to tell you what recone to order.

18" baskets just arrived yesterday dude..chill out. The foundry here got behind on their production nearly 3 weeks..which puts us behind 3 weeks.

WOW!!!! How about 1 coil? How would I pay? You seemed surprised. How much did you think a recone kit was going to cost? $20 each? Thanks ford302redneck but that's not a recone kit price. That's the price for 3 coils shipped. I've purchased four custom 18" recone kits from Fi in the past and I'm well aware that I have to pay for quality.Back to the coil, assuming $15 for shipping, that would be about $55 each for a 2", underhung coil. In my opinion, that is a lot to pay to repair a sub that I only paid $85 for. On the other hand, Fi is the ONLY supplier of this coil so they can charge what they want. I'll still get a coil but instead of buying extras, I'll only pick up the one I need and be much more careful with test tones next time. Basic economics at work. uhh..that's for the whole recone man, we don't sell loose parts.

Ok so copper it is? why is this? Thanks for your input No, it is an aluminum long coil to give you more excursion.. If you want a flat wind coil, your xmax is going to go to about 16mm or so...which is definitely not what you want to do.

..you still have 500 watts on a speaker that has significantly more suspension then 500 watts will ever do anything to... If I remember correctly I spoke to you via email about this 500 watts on a Q and i told you I did not suggest you spending the money on the Q and doing it because it will not be anywhere near its full potential output wise...but you insisted that it would be fine. What you are trying to do is get to 4 seconds at the race track at over 300 mph by using a skate board and a leaf blower duct taped to the back of it...and that is not going to work out so well..there is no replacement for displacement, you have the smallest amount of displacement that we make, and half of the rated power that we suggest and you are expecting significantly more then what you should expect especially with the way the suspension is built on them. In order to do what you want to do...(4 seconds at the race track at 300+ mph) you need one of these. Bottom line...
