Are you going to be in Daytona out of sheer curiosity? There's going to be quite a few people to talk to about electrical systems there...
-
No problem man, glad i could help.

With the amp off, turn the meter to Ohms...dual 1ohm coils in series should leave you with a 1.4ohm dcr.
-
Nah, that's for the SSD and Q's, the BL's and the BTL's do not have a pole vent, so you don't have to worry about it....you can sit the backplate on the back of the box for all that matters. Thanks -Nick
-
Don't worry about it unless you are in to hardcore spl competition where every single watt counts .
-
He's saying like the bracing appears to be attached to the port itself, and not attached to the larger panels in the enclosure where it should be attached. (where it is most likely to flex)

I'm home and don't have a box program on this pc..ill see if i can dig one up somewhere tomorrow for you

What sub do you have? If you are wiring in parallel a pair of 12awg wires will fit, otherwise 8awg is a tight squeeze with a single run...10awg is fine. Thanks -Nick
-
I'd say at most your probably running ~900-1000 watts to it...which is no where near enough power for a BTL . And the sub is not going to move much at the ports tuning frequency....when you play below tuning the sub will move more because it starts to unload. Throw more power at it, and let the suspension loosen up...it'l come around . Thanks -Nick

Not gonna happen, if you want BTL slugs then order a BTL. You gain absolutely nothing other then the slugs are going to overhang the top and bottom plates by a long shot...and really mess the flux field up. (In turn creating a woofer that is sub par to the FEA optimized BL motor with the standard BL series slugs) A 3 slug BL might be entertained in the future, but right now no. Doing so requires more testing on our part and we're strapped badly for time as it is now. So look in the future for the possibility of the option, but at this day and time not quite yet. The cone/surround profile is a little different on the BL, however it does use the same spiders and coil(s) as the BTL does (minus the hixmax) ps. jizm, don't do that again...keep that bs on ca.com

SX uses a 3" coil... I dont have a clue what size the gap is or anything, the only 2" coils we have around are the ones that are/were for the X series, and i'm not totally sure if it will fit the gap (outer diameter)...or if it would be too long or not.

Does that ttb design actually work and sound good? out of sheer curiousity Looks good man! -Nick
-
Interesting...how does it sound?
-
No problem man, glad i could help. Post pics whenever its done!
-
Ah ok, changed back then lol.
-
sweet lemme know how it sounds!

fixed the title, good review

I know this doesn't belong here, but It doesn't belong anywher

Considering we're 6000 miles apart from each other (scott is in vegas, i'm in virginia and shawn is in florida) we'll have to "sign" stuff at SBN...if yall can't live without it lol. -
I dont think we have any 2" coils..that would work at least...If you have the original coil stick a gauge on it and measure the OD, might have something that will work. Most american based 3" coils we can recone however.
-
It's a possibility, but i'm not the one calling the shots...scott will have to answer this one .
-
Then you'd have a BTL ..if BTL slugs were used. We're not going to do 3 slugs on the BL's, it yields no more motor strength and there's no sense in doing it in a high xmax coil... Goal with the BL is basically a cheaper alternative to the BTL, and it sounds like that you want a BTL to me .

i very rarely see pm's on here, so i turned them off. i can keep up with emails, pm's i cant

i know some of you have emailed me, i've been busy as heck....and i dont have time right now to sort through all of the posts and see if everybody that has emailed me has met the criteria I hope to beable to sift through it tomorrow night... Thanks for you patience -Nick
