Gotta wait a few days and wait for the account to clear...i messed up when i signed up the first time Trying to get the http://www.myspace.com/ficaraudio instead of /092343249092

So long as your measurements are right it should be fine... Sub OD: 15.625
-
Should be fine, the flanges on the basket/screws will just go over top of the top and bottom layers of the basket

That's your call man, i can put 8000-10000 watts to a sub and never blow it. Others can put 1000 watts to the same sub and melt the coil. It's all based on experience, install, etc etc. Thus is why we say, 2000 watts RMS, what you do to it is your decision.

Check out the sticky section, it has all of the information that you need on the BTL's.

FI 418s 4th order single reflex bandpass design!!!

Need to know a volume figure so we can figure out what will work best for you. (Rough guess on cubic feet and how much room you have to work with) -
We say 2000 watts RMS, what you put to it is ultimately your decision.

There's some pics of John's setup around here somewhere...

8 15" BTL's...i think he's running a kx2500 per sub..dont remember exactly.
-
Sure, as long as you get the right amount of volume you should be fine...the 'shape' of the box doesn't effect it much per se.
-
welllllllllll I just found out how much of a pita it is to do your own background on that stuff... So much for that idea lol. Wichy if you want to come up with something i'd be more then happy to put it on the page...i just know nothing about the whole myspace thing, never had one.
-
Just trying to get pics of the subs in their environment...gonna chop and crop stuff together for a background on the myspace thing... Going to attempt to anyways, i've never used the myspace thing...so it'l probably be an experience in and of itself

Biggest we have i believe is a 2x

I'm simply not going to say this is when it breaks, because...there are WAY too many variables to say definitively this is when you need to stop. We say 2000 watts, if you put more to them, then that is your choice .
-
They are broken in for the most part...for parameter aspects.. However dont put all your cards on the parameters for a box design...if that is what you may be using them for. -Nick from daytona

Q1: 1 watt technically speaking ...lol. We recommend using 2000 watts...as that is the rated RMS. Q2: That's your call, we stick to our guns with a 2000 watt rms rating. What you put on them is your call ultimately...i've personally put in excess of 3kw on the 12 with no issues. Not about to say that the sub can/will take more, simply for the fact that it is your choice to do so. We've learned better then putting inflated power ratings on woofers, it causes nothing but trouble...people see "That sub can take 32,000 watts?!!!!" and immediately think that they can strap a ton of amps on them, clip them to heck and back...and burn the coil up. Q3: Whenever it breaks i guess, then that's too much . Most of the issues that we have with spl vehicles is them using bandpass enclosures and literally blowing the soft parts apart, and the coil is fine. Mike (Extreme audio) Is only running ~8200w per woofer in a 4th order which is VERY VERY hard on stuff...and is doing a 179.4...in extreme 3-4...now..daily driving? You should not need more then 3kw per woofer. SPL fart/burp? The sky is the limit, when you break it...thats too much

You may be getting 1200w out of that amp on a good day .

Most organizations let you use tones from their 'official' CD.
