Stay within our guidelines, you'll be in good shape.. Problem with making 'cookie cutter' boxes is they simply wont fit a whole lot of vehicles.

That turned out nice! As Scott said keep us posted

Probably better to sell the sub you have and buy one that is designed to be a 18.
-
Honestly man there's really no point in doing it unless you killed your hd3.. Recones from them are decently cheap, and you wouldn't have a 'frankenwoofer'
-
No...a BTL is a BTL ..a hd3 reconed with different soft parts would be just that, a hd3 with our coil, spiders, and cone.

IMO 2500 is too much for a loaded BL Add another inch to the mounting depth, so it'l be 9.25" Thanks!

*Ahem* :stands on soap box: CHAT BISHES Danke.

Dodge quad cab... Are you putting them under the seats or something?

I'm not going to say one way or another...i've personally owned just about every sub DD has made over the years the last ones i've personally had were the "D" series i believe... If you want loud, its all in the install. Mike's van is the loudest 4 woofer vehicle in the world, and he runs BTL 18's..he's tried DD subs and they simply don't work for him. Bottom line is, there is no re-invention of the wheel here. We give all of our customers what we think is a fair shake at prices (we haven't forgot what its like to walk in your shoes too), as far as i know i don't think any other manufactures are offering a fully user customizable sub, tailored to their specific application, for the price that we're doing it . Your call, if i were in your shoes i wouldn't throw money down the drain for a extra few tenths on the mic in a drop in situation...or base my purchase on what others 'think' may happen, i've learned better then that .

Nope just 1500 watts or so A sundown 1500d would be great for a pair of them, or even one of the Kicker 1500's would work fine -

Actually Tom (tprj5) is the guy that has/had the 8 15" SSD's sealed in the blazer.. Shawn has 8 btl 15's in a big ported box in the van -
You'll have to remind me or tell me what your email addy is, drawing a blank right now, jog my memory

Bang for the buck the SSD's are more power/dollar for dollar oriented... They'll sound great in the sealed box, get loud and won't break the bank in having to get tons of power and electrical upgrades to get them to their full potential. Even later on if you think you want to give up a wee bit more hatch area you could put them in a ported enclosure and they'd be much louder than sealed (respectively). Thanks!
