(shhhhhh..they are already confused enough as it is. leave well enough alone please because stuff like that will cause people to go out and try it and shred their soft parts to hades and back.) Do not tune a box to 40+Hz and intend on playing music with it with a high excursion long coil woofer and no subsonic filter. You are asking for trouble.

We have built hundreds of them like that..it has the exact same contact surface area on the bond joint that the Chinese baskets do. Except we made the flange much wider on the outside so we have a better looking glue bead all the way around and it doesn't look like a 7 year old kid built it. The flange is not too big. It's totally fine, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.

No. The now "standard" leads with the smaller diameter spiders. It simply leaves more room for margin of error because people can not grasp the concept of what a subsonic filter is to keep things from yanking past mechanical limitations below tuning. "lead slap" is not an issue..if it were every single one of the people that run our IB3 woofers in the home theater environments would be raising 8 shades of holy hell because you can hear it in a house WAY better then you can in a car.
-
Been using those for OEM for quite some time, we got tired of people not understanding the concept of the subsonic filter so we designed the spider to have the old loose leads that do not fatigue as much when you are yanking things below tuning like the integrated leads do. They are a bit more abuse tolerant / dummy proof.

All of them as soon as we run out of the rest of the silver baskets.
-
Little different magnet and the new suspension that we're running now. We change things all the time Black baskets are standard now.
-
p.s you've only got one coil hooked up.
-
Probably clipping the pee willy out of the amp. Put the sub in the box where it belongs
-
Ummm..those spacers are supposed to the be there..you might crack your basket if you tightened those longer screws down too much..not to mention it has significantly less surface area do clamp to. Why did you take them out?!

You can complain to UPS if you want it is programmed to charge what they charge us...if you calculate it yourself on UPS's website you see it's actually cheaper as we do get a better rate. That is for ground service from us to you off of their website. UPS Ground 5:00 P.M. Thursday December 8, 2011 By End of Day, Thursday December 15, 2011 63.57 USD * Days In Transit: 5 Schedule by 4:00 P.M. Thursday December 8, 2011

You should have a tracker and see movement on it..if you didn't get it please let me know. -
Need to know the name it was shipped to or the order number or something to be able to help you. We're running ~ 2 weeks on recones right now as they take second priority to normal production orders.
-
Nope built 100's of them like that and never have had an issue with them coming off. That's the 18" American 12 spoke basket. We made the flange much larger then it needed to be.
-
I doubt that very seriously, post a picture of it. The flange on the 18" basket is MUCH wider then it needs to be, you have to put a bead of glue on the edge of the spiders and on the spider landing and then put it together which makes one large bead.
-
No such thing as an 8.5" spider man, you do not need any more diameter then what you already have..especially with the short coil that the MT has.
-
Let me know if you need single 2 or single 4 and i'll write it on the order.
-
Do you honestly think you can give a 7 year old a can of gas and a pack of matches and expect them to not set the neighborhood on fire?
-
Don't do it. The coil will be offset in the wrong direction. You need to click the old Q recone. If you go to buy parts for a 350 chevy 1974 model...you need to order the 1974 model. Yes the 1993 model is still a 350 chevy..but the differences are vast.
-
We've never made a sub par product, definitely aren't going to start doing it now. We'll leave that to those who import everything
-
It's rated at 2500 watts..if you've gotta ask if you could/should do something aside from that, you probably shouldn't.
-
Breaking in a sub = myth. If you play it, it will loosen up over time. Breaking in an engine of a car = not myth. There is a reason why you break in a cam and use break in oil. An engine is FAR more complex then a speaker will ever be.

don't run that amp below 1ohm either..you're just asking for trouble.
