BTL or BL and a sealed box?

Response curve of a sub with a low Q and tons of motor force quite frankly sucks (up/down/all over the place)...not to mention it sounds terrible...also tends to be very peaky in a few different spots. There is no low end to the sub, and you also run into mechanical issues VERY fast. All in all, as always, stick to what enclosures we recommend, it's what is best for the subs in a daily driving and musical scenario.

    FI Q

With 750 watts why not look into a SSD 12 with a copper coil and stuff the box full of poly fill?

    T/S Parameters after break in

Too much motor strength. Generally speaking Low Q (.2-3)woofers do not like sealed boxes, they like larger ported boxes. Mid Q woofers (.3-.45 or so) are the best of both worlds and work well sealed/ported. High Q woofers (~.5+++) are generally sealed box only woofers with the byproduct of being a horridly inefficient 'turd' if you will , and IMO aren't the greatest from a design standpoint, they sound dead and lifeless in my opinion.

    T/S Parameters after break in

You never really 100% 'break in' a sub.. Using t/s parameters for box modeling will throw your enclosures waaaaaaaaaaaaay off with the BTL series of subs, and you definitely won't get the response that the programs say you will. (For instance WinISD will tell you to put the 18" btl in a 2 cubic foot sealed box for a good +/- 3dB alignment from 20-100hz) That, isn't the case though. Stick with what we recommend...there's no point in modeling woofers in a box program, the graphical response you get in the particular scenario 99% of the time will never be remotely close to the real world response.

    T/S Parameters after break in

Doesn't matter, the box recommendation stays the same. They'll continue to break in and change as you use them...if your trying to plot them in winisd or a program of that nature to predict output curves your really wasting your time. Stick with what we recommend for a box, you'll be good to go.

    Recone question...

yeah we can recone it...we'll use whatever parts will fit (mainly depends on the coil od) -Nick

    BL + SAZ1500D?

    yep.
  13. Not sending out loose parts, the only thing we will do is drop in kits. Doubt very seriously if you'd get them before the 17th..in order to get them there you'd pay an arm and 3 legs in shipping to get them to you. Scott will have to give you prices on shipping rates because i'm unable to do expedited shipping quotes accurately. -Nick

    How much RMS wattage

If that's the amp that i think it is that has 1 little torriod and 2 caps...with 2 boards in the same case. Not a snowballs chance in hell it'd do that kind of power, let alone cleanly.
  15. What do you need recones for?
  16. NDMstang65

Low numbers, what should I try

Not the best choice of amps either... I've more less forgot all the old spl tricks of the trade; stuff doesn't interest me at all anymore...beatin the hell out of some screwed music at 150++ is where its at

    Nick, Scott, or Shawn

A lead pulling out of a terminal is a tad bit different than burning one due to tons of current and a square wave. I've messed with speakers way too long, there is a big difference in the two Slick - Shoot Scott and I an email, ill talk to him tomorrow evening when i get off of work and we'll get you taken care of. Thanks -Nick

Scott need your help on a damaged speaker

I didn't read your 8 pages of bickering between yall, i could care less and i'm not going to read it because i don't care what the other one thinks he knows......i simply delete it because i know it's nothing but a bunch of whining and crying trying to prove a point that's moot at best. I don't care who said what, who did what, when they did it, why they did it..it does not matter, it's nothing more than a distant memory that you can't seem to leave alone or grasp the fact that they were trying to help you. Yet you continued to take the low road and run your mouth over...and over...and over time and time again from what i can tell by thumbing through the thread. You asked for help, they helped you. Then you bit the hand that fed you, you got bit back and didn't like it too much.

Scott need your help on a damaged speaker

Skits, if you haven't figured it out yet people don't take kindly to chin music. When you run your mouth members of almost any forums online are more then happy to shut it for you... You take things WAY too seriously. btw where does dopey come into the situation?
