fi dust cap getting pretty warm??? on a fibl15 with cooling fully load
NDMstang65 replied to caddyon20s's topic in General Fi
So long as you don't smell coil burning your fine...if your getting the funky coil smell then turn it down. -
Congrats man!

If that's the cluster mag sub we can't do it...i've got one laying in the floor that's pretty much useless... Has a really odd diameter coil...nothing we have even the smallest coil will work... Sorry man
-
Looks like the eclipse basket...and already has the smaller spider flange...i'm sure we can do a recone for it, you'd have to send it in though.
-
If it has the standard American 3" coil then odds are we could fab something up for it...otherwise no...

nope..sorry man cant recone it..thats a 4" coil motor
-
18's have 3...12's 15's originally had 4..now have 5

You do realize that the Q recone may not work in your tc-9 right...so why are you asking for a Q recone? The basket spider spacing and the landing is different where it needs to be glued at...and can and will throw things off... So is it a Q...or is it a TC-9? If so, which TC-9 is it, there's about 6 different ones. Thanks

Still not enough room for 2 18's...not even sealed. Check your other thread and read the sticky section that i linked you to, it explains everything. Thanks -Nick
-
One or the other, not both.

Highly recommend sticking to our guidelines with enclosure sizes....bottom line your not going to fit a pair of 18's and port area and have a decent response curve, especially in the bottom end. Thanks -Nick
-
Yeah, all you'd need is a 15" basket and a drop in. Thanks -Nick
-
Nope, somebody has to cut apart one and measure it with a pair of calipers to see if we can or not... The difference in a few thousandths is the difference in us being able to recone it or not. Thanks -Nick
-
Doubt very seriously if you'll have that much room in it...for 2 18's at least. You may squeeze 15's though. Thanks -Nick

two different subwoofer wave cancellation true??
NDMstang65 replied to caddyon20s's topic in General Fi
No, don't do it. I've merged all of your other threads into the one at the top of the page. Now, don't make a new thread every time you have a question. Odds are it's already been answered, but you can post multiple questions in the thread that you create... 16 threads and 17 questions is a little much . Thanks -Nick -
Ok, Now that i've cleaned this thread up. To the OP, regardless of what you may think. DO NOT mix subs. Period. I'm not going to say it again, we are telling you what is best. Each and every different size/series of woofer has a different frequency response. If you mix the rockford sub and our sub you are going to have SERIOUS cancellation issues, and not to mention it is going to sound like complete crap. Don't get the mentality of "i'm gonna have the best of both worlds" because that's not how it's going to work. Either ditch th rockford sub, and get 2 of our subs, or ditch the idea of getting our subs and buy another rockford sub. It's not about the impedence of the coils (dual 2ohm) that is totally irrelivant. In comparison you are attempting to breed a bull dog and a cat and come out with a bullcat. You can't do that. Genetics won't allow it, and the same thing goes for the audio world. Simply do not do it. Now, all the threads that you've made i'm merging into one. You don't need to make a new thread every time you have a question, you can post more then one question in one thread that you make. Thanks -Nick Fi Car Audio

If you want something for 'strictly' spl you definitely do NOT want to go fully loaded. Go with the SPL option, 2 slug BTL if your looking for a single sub. If you plan on playing ANY music at all you need to choose the 'daily' option. Otherwise you will rub the coil out over a short period of time. Thanks -Nick

Ballpark figure ~100 bucks for the recone, ~25-30 for the basket + whatever shipping is. If we can recone it, no guarantees there. Thanks -Nick

Powermaster...if they make one for your car www.powermastermotorsports.com

Then why did you try to sell me that belemic 12" with the severe inferiority complex ? SHHHH
-
Nope...if we feel that a woofer will have issues we will not sell them to our customers . Thanks -Nick
