They changed to Fedex and they had a solution for not having this issue..so it doesn't send to you until it ships.

I'd say most likely it's already on the way, no need to do a paypal claim and all of that stuff...they are not going to rip you off man, relax. -
The new ones aren't quite available just yet. They are a solid upgrade from the older ones though
-
Tens of thousands of subs have been shipped like that...there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Every now and then one will take a dive off of a belt or something and end up getting broken, in 6 years we've had less than 15 claims.

16v is far from idiot proof...it can be much harder on amplifiers especially if you try to run a lower impedance.. 14v system is ideal, but I run 12v with a shit ton of reserve. You also must run a separate electrical system from your ecu on your car..otherwise you'll burn stuff up

My crystal ball says it will continue to be a hoarde of 'look what i can do' and 'oh ME TOO' people. ..innovation..not much, the industry can barely handle/tolerate what's currently on the market as-is.
-
99.9% of the time when that happens the subs are moving too much and you've snapped the surround tight and de-formed the cone body causing the dustcap to come off. The 10's are all put on with a glue that is like the 'amazing goop' or 'e6000' that you can get at any hardware store..kmart..walmart etc. What amp do you have? Where is your box tuned? Where is your subsonic filter set?

You definitely don't want to use a longer coil wind especially with a linear roll spider. Linear spiders by nature suck after about 12mm of movement..they just don't work right. It's almost as bad as a poorly designed progressive spider that pops/cracks etc. 10x3 spider in and of itself just isn't the greatest idea
-
Odds are you burnt the leads up..the subsonic filters suck ass on the rockford amps. You'll have to pay for a recone..warranty does not cover open or burnt coils, just manufacturing defect.
-
thanks thanks!
-
No, they are totally different subs. You can not make a N2 into a N3 by reconing it.

Feelin' the love guys..thanks!

Haven't had any of those for years since we/they quit making that style of motor. Sorry.

Actually he said outwardly the motors appeared to be similar. That says nothing about similarities within the motor, and frankly he doesn't even give any external measurements of the motor itself to confirm they are anything more than similar in appearance. Also, if you look at the actual measured T/S parameters you can see they are different drivers. The Xcon has a higher Q, lower Fs, lower Le and higher Mms. Plus the Xcon has slightly more linear excursion and I believe higher thermal power handling as well. It is still an Fi copy with a couple alterations. Quoted "Any differences from the Q are probably in the voice coil itself and the gap geometry and possibly the pole piece machining." Coil is different, suspension is different, magnet ID is different, dust cap is different, gap is different, pole piece is different, back plate is different, cooling is different. You can step off of your soap box now. -the guy thats built hundreds of them.

They have changed to Fedex recently any how..I don't know how the brokerage fees are with them.
-
USPS lost about 12 packages which is why we quit using them many years ago..because they would not pay to replace them.
-
I spent 2 hours in the chat last night explaining this to you..you have mayhems.

What would High Qts give me over Std Qts in a seald box ?
NDMstang65 replied to Ashmanuk's topic in General Fi
No. You can not change them, they are what they are. You will most likely have to purchase new subs and sell what you have. I doubt if Am will have what you need on the shelf. -
That's a soundstream xxx basket fwiw. Not the frame that Fi uses / owns the patent on.

NDMstang65 replied to Ashmanuk's topic in General Fi
If what you have sounds fine for the application that you have it in, then do not mix the woofers. You do not want to have a standard qts and a high qts mixed in together..it'l cause some weird things with the response curve to happen. -
nothing but myth..they break in over time, just play them and set your subsonic filter properly
