i ordered my HU threw them about 2 years ago, they wre ok. the person i talked to had no clue WTF they were doing so it took litterally 10mins just to order the right thing but shipping was fast and item arrived as described in perfect condition.

haha funny you made this thread atthe time you did cause i just burned my old box last night. it was junk though got wet on the bottom and the mdf bloated and it leaked like a mofo so pretty much useless it did however make a good fire for about 20mins.

has anyone ever tried this? http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_am/prod...8&catid=145 looks promising if it works like they claim. i don't have voltage drop just wondering if it actually helps.

haha thats an understatement, if someone honestly thinks they can run 7k on a stock elctrical they deserve a slap in the face. i won't need that much power, but good idea i guess, or you could go all out make an amp compareable to the kicker warhorse.

I could run just one of the VC's perhaps but then the subs total power handeling would go down I beleive, Maybe somne else could chime in. I'm probably wrong but I thought I saw a crafty way to wire the buggers to get a 1 ohm load.... I'll have to t out the pen and paper or cheat and use some internet tool lol. using only one Vc will not HURT the sub but will not be the best way of doing things. using only one VC will chnage the subs TS specs usually for the worse, the changing in specs will often effect the size of enclosure the sub needs, also i think power handling is decreased by 30% only using one VC.

if you have to have an 18 look and see if you can find a AA avalanch motor, then recone it to an 18. the ava had good sq and was a low end beast, iirc the fs was 15hz. the sq will be good but not great, the subs jim mention will be slightly better, but then again sq is all personal judgement, so everyone will have different tatses. also what do you have for a mid range setup? the midrange is FAR more important to overall sq than the sub is, just soemthing to think about.

3 12's...been there done that. im really liking the look someone's face when tell em its only one 12. if id run 1200rms id rather run it to a havok! two 12's will have more cone area and bl force so in a good box they should therorectically get louder.

heres a short vid of my system in the GA. one atlas 15. sealed 2.5cf RE12.1 amp at 4ohms. not too bad, guessing somehwere in the low 130's on music maybe mid 130's on tone. i wanted to play a different song but the damn HU skips so i had to pick a different song.

yep they suck i know. i went from 3 15's on 1200wrms in a jeep to 1 15 on 400wrms in a grand am. lets jut say theres a slight difference in output.

so i see the nightshade is rated for 1500wrms, now seriously what would a nightshade do with 1500wrms would it acutally be enough power for one? im asking cause i only have 1400wrms and was looking at the dc lv4 but if the nightshade only needs 1500wrms i might consider one.

what where you gonna say rich? i know you said on roe to just build the baffle on an angle s the sub was fireing back but to be honest thats gonna be too much of a hassle, espically when this box is only gonne get used for for a couple months then come out.

damn, i really don't wanna take the seats out since this box will be only temp for the atlas till i can save some dough then im gonna upgrade to a single 12. how hard is it to get a box thru the door with the rear seats still in? im thinking something around 13-h 35-w 20-d using 2 4inch ports tuned to 32hz only the sub will have to fire up and the port to the side, but it should get louder than my sealed box i have now.

nice box. so i went out and measured a few things and oticed that i can go 17tall but the box will have to be movd back about 3 inchs so its behind the lip of the seat latchs, but how hard would that be to get thru the trunk? theres no way i can go through the seats since the lip is only 15 tall i'd have to bend it atleast 2inchs. im thinkin go 16.5 tall, fire the sub foward at the big section of seat then have te port fireing forward at the small section would that work good or should i do it differently?

damnn, what exactly did you have to modify? on mine theres this little plastic cover thing then the rear deck. did you have to cut the rear deck or just the plastic thing? i may end doing the exact same as you just im gonna switch the port to the other side since i useally just leave the small seat section folded down all the time with the big section folded up.

how did you fit that 15 in the trunk? in my GA the trunk is only 15inchs tall so theres no way i can have the sub fire forwards or back it has to fire at the trunk lid thats why i want a 12.

this is completly therorectical, but do you think that with 1400wrms, a box from hexibase, and a 12 nightshade in a grand am trunk could pull 140 or better on music? i know no one can give me a "true" answer but does it have the capibilitys to achieve this goal. I don't see why not in the right box -- it will be more difficult from a trunk, but Pete has been known to work some magic. I imagine you would need to modify the rear deck at least slightly to allow the pressure into the cabin better. the seats fold down in GA so that will help greatly and i allready have taken out the rear 6x9's since my atlas allready destroyed the cone on one.

i was talking about if 1400 will be enough, since i assume that the nighshade is very high power handling sub 1400 wouldn't be enough. for example take the re xxx, sure 1400 will make it move and produce sound but is nowhere near enough power to show what it can really do.

i heared the power ratings are low so that complete noobs who have problems blowing the subs.

i wasn't saying the w6 was BS just the mainstream brands like jl, kicker, alpine, etc. i've never heared a mag or icon so i wa sjust seeing what others thought of the sq compared to the atlas. ya i love the ava's but they only came in dvc2 they wouldn't work with my amp or i would have got a pair instead of the atlas.

i allways wondered who here has listend to an AA atlas, xbl^2? just wondering what you thought of it and did you like the sq. i allways hear such good things about the icon, mag, xxx, w6 as being top sq subs just wondering where would you place the atlas. i know tuan from TTB loved the atlas for its sq.

so what did you think of it like sq, im asking because around here no one has anything other mainstream BS so the only other "sq" subs i've heared would w6/w7. so i was hoping someone online would have heared the atlas wih other online top sq subs to compare it to.

so why do you ahve both an assasin and arsenal? also i think the assassin is svc4 while the arsenal is dvc4. anyway AA underrates their subs by a lot so no surprise that it takes the power.
