i agree, i'd only use 45's on tlines or maybe certain type horns in which the wave needs to travel a certain way other than that IMO their a waste of time, if you do gain anything it'll be in tenths of a DB and unless your competing will be pointless in a daily driver.

ohh i see, so would a lv4 be good with only 1300wrms or would it be better with more? for my next sub im looking for 1 12 ported that can take my re12.1 amp wiht no sweat. Perfect, the LV4 will pound off 1300 rms =], I loved that amp, sad when they stopped making it, Totally understand US amps kinda had it covered cool, do you have prices yet for the lv4? ya i love my re amp, pretty underated seen bench tests showing upwards of 1400wrms from them, but my fav would be the 35.1 even though its only rated for 1800wrms it still was a nice amp. and don't get me started on US amps i dislike them very very much which is why i highly doubt i'll ever own another Re product sadly.

i was looking at the site and it says "There will be a $25 upgrade charge for high performance dual 2ohm coils." my question is why? whats different between the 4ohm coil and 2ohm?

10cf each, holy sh1t. i'd rec. around 5cf each with the same tuning He didn't say 10^3ft each. then what did he say? also i see you posted this on hexibase, i'd just listen to whatever pete says he has A LOT of experience with HT and how to get the most from subs.

The standard D4 coil in the LV3 is a 600/1200 roundwire coil, the D2 coil is a 1000/2000 8 layer flat wound SPL coil. They are compleatly diffrent, if it was just the same coil but only a diffrent imp. change than they would be the same price. With the D2 coil you get more power handeling and overall more output from the subwoofer And besides that they write that it was built specifically for you on the side of the box. It makes you feel special almost like you had them make the sub just for you and no one else. Anyways They are worth it. Z now what kind of special are we talking about, is it like you just had sex with your gf for the first time special or like you get a good grade on a test you did not study for kinda special? haha either way i'll look into the lv3 for my next sub. so with the dvc2 colis a 12 will handle 1300wrms daily in a ported box right?

im not complaining about AA products or anything just wondering what happened to chad. he was a great guy to talk to. when i ordered my atlas's i spent a good 15mins talking to him about boxes then another 10mins talking about how to wire the qts to get the best sound, and that was my first time ever talking to him. great guy and IMHO AA had the best customer service i've ever seen.

short answer- NO,

ohh i see. so is chad involed with anything at AA or is it just scott and his people?

New SUBS OR STAY.....LET ME KNOW GUYS
dustin420 replied to talibmohamid's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
are you only looking for 12's? i ask cause im selling my AA atlas 15's which would make a great upgrade from a single max. if you can't i'd just stick with the max and get a new box design to better suit yor needs, as im not a fan of any JL sub below the w6. -
that dudes long gone, he's got some other company now... Scott at Fi would be the guy I need to talk to WHAT!!!!! chad left all together? i thought him and scott just teamed up to design the new subs. well if chad left thats gay as hell, he was a great guy to talk to, i know i spent a good 15mins just talking about enclosures for the atlas. i think i still have their old number from crystal lake, i'll see if i can find it.
-
so what is a good overall inductance rating? i think my atlas's are around .9 is that good? from what i read the higher the number the more sub will be based towards spl and the lower the more the sub is baised towards sq, is that a correct assumption?
-
depends on the VC, and how loose or exactky what is loose on it. again just a guess since im not there. have you tried calling AA and talking to chad to see if he has an explantion?

Mine is for sure rubbing now, stopped last night and started again today... I free aired it and it went away, I don't know what the fudge is going on. Can this be fixed without a recone? Sorry for the noob questions, I have never had this issue before.. hmmm to me it sounds like a loose VC, if it is rubbing only at certain times i doubt its a bent former. also could be that the motor is misalligned but i highly doubt that. really hard to say since i can't see it in person but thats what i guess would be wrong.
-
haha wall soket to break in a sub, wow new one to me.
-
this may have been stated allready, but i heared the new mag is xbl^2 driven is that true? if so i may have to get one just for that fact.
-
have you tried running power to the sub? could be a bent former, or loose VC. also have you tried taking a flashlight and shining it through the spider to see if theres anything rubbing?
-
well technically the higher the ohms the lower the thd will be, so at 1ohm it may 1% while at 4ohms it may be .05% but unless the amp has 10% thd at 1ohm you would need the hearing of a dog to tell a difference between the two and even then its really hard to hear distortion in subwoofers. so in basic the answer would be no.

hmm i remember hearing about the chaos, but not the mayhem. iirc someone on roe was talking about using the chaos in their setup.

Adire Brahma 12 vs RE Audio XXX 12 vs FI Audio Q 12
dustin420 replied to ydevix's topic in General Fi
the xx and brahma are great subs, the q is good but not the same level as the others. if it was me i'd stay with the xxx. -
so can a mag12 handle 1300wrms in a ported box daily? if so i may be very interrested.
-
haha any sub can get "low" it just depends on the box. i'd bet money that a "good" 6.5 woofer in a tline or tpered horn designed specificly to get low would hold it owns. like i allways say 20% equipment, 80% install.
