Question about enclosure for (6) SA 10's
SeductiveSounds replied to Loudex04's topic in Sundown Audio
I think he has 3 and is asking if 3 is too much. I do agree with you though, I would use four+ if you have the room to fit the port length. My bad, it was like 2am and i read it wrong. 3 would be ok, 4 would be best i think. -
Question about enclosure for (6) SA 10's
SeductiveSounds replied to Loudex04's topic in Sundown Audio
Personally I think 6 6" aeros will be too many. With that kind of a volume where are you going to put 6 ports that will end up being ~56.5" long to get you to a 33Hz tuning Stick with 3 (~26.6" long for 33Hz) or maybe 4 (~36.6" long each for ~33Hz) and you should be fine. 3x 6" ports puts you at ~12"^2 of port area. 4x 6" ports puts you at ~16.5"^2 of port area. *port lengths calculated based on 7ft^3 using http://www.psp-inc.com/tools.html Hope that helps. -
There is a pre-order happening here in Canada, message me for details.

Maybe an issue with Firefox, it doesnt work on mine. When I click it doesnt do anything, if I click and hold I can move the map, if I double click it zooms The only one that has any info when I click is Smart Auto Sound Solutions

I found an issue with the Dealer Section. At least for us Canadian guys. There's no information for contacting the dealers when you hover or click the SD logo. Also I havent seen the dealer changes I requested.

What kind of a car is this going into? If its a trunk car, chances are you're not going to hear a little bit of port noise. Smaller volumes require much longer ports, it just the way the physics work. Have you thought about doing round ports? They won't usually take up so much room thus keeping the final volume down. I did a box with 2 SA-8's that was 36.5Wx13Hx9.5D almost half the box was port, port is 11.5Hx2W works just fine no noise and its in a hatch and is on a SAZ-2000D @ 2ohm

WTB: Sundown 2500d amp really bad!!
SeductiveSounds replied to Chickenwings's topic in Sundown Audio
Have you tried contacting your local Sundown dealers? Shipping and duties really shouldn't be that much. -
The box you have is already too big for the 400watt rms rating. You need to go down to 0.6ft^3. I dont think there is much of a need to slap 800watts on the SA-8, especially if you're only using one and its not an SPL only kind of thing. Daily 300-500 is just fine.

Why didn't you post this last week. I was in St Cat's last weekend. Mind you i only have the 08 BTL. I'm east of Oshawa though, so it would be a bit of a journey to give you a demo.

I've heard the truck, when it was two NS15's and a 3500D. It SLAMMED when the windows were open, not so much when the windows were up. I think its more of a cabin size issue than a box issue. I've built a few S10's all with the same issue. I haven't really figured it out either, but that's the only think I have been able to come up with. Maybe someone with a S10 that gets down to 30Hz with authority will be able to let you in on their secret.

i got some direction from some local spl guys. i'm new to reconing and everyone seems to do something different when they recone. but thanks for the words of encouragement.

Got some of the recone glue for a 12" Q Got the 60oz (have some other subs to do too) My question is, what is the mix ratio? I'd assume that its 2:1 (Black:clear) Just don't want to mess it up. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
-
oops my bad, 24Oz cost me $60 the one straight from Fi, got it with the recone kit ya its an epoxy

I removed my LED, WAY too bright for me at night. As for the clicking, use a relay to isolate the compressor from the remote turn-on. That will save you the clicking in the system. Relay information. Pin 85 - Ground Pin 86 - Remote turn-on from radio Pin 30 - 12V Compressor turn-on Pin 87 - 12V Constant Source (Battery) - Be sure to fuse Pin 87a - N/C Hope that helps you out

Anyone running these IB? My brother has an Audi A4 and wants to replace the stock sub in the rear deck, but with having 2.5 kids he has to have full use of his trunk. Hence the interest in running one of these in an IB setup. If anyone has any other suggestions, my ears are open. Thanks

I know they don't model well, this isn't my first rodeo with them. I want them more for the sake of having them. Putting them in my software will help me keep them safe

I'm in need of the T/S specs for a 15" BTL (2008 Single Slug) They're not on the website. Building a new box for them and I need to have the specs to plug into my software. Thanks

Go to PSP Inc. - Pacific Software Publishing They have a calculator for flared ports

You could take it to a local dealer Sundown dealer. The amps are really straight forward to setup.
