amp for type r comp.
datsnowboy replied to datsnowboy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well money was a factor when buying the comps. but i dont think a 150-200watt amp can get too expensive. would a sundown 100.2 be good? -
Yea I will probably just take some time on a day off to fit them. I talked with the ppl at the shop for like 10mins on different ways to put them in and they said none would work and I would have to buy coaxial speakers. Then I had some sound deadening on my seat and asked him if they could put that in while I was there. So thats when he talked about how it was pointless and cost alot of money to do and doesnt do anything so I laughed, said ok and walked out.

I have a set of alpine type R compenent speakers and the mounting depth is 2 5/18 and my cars stock speaker location is 2 5/20. How would I be able fit them if possible. Would a kick pod work? I need help asap.
-
I think it was mounting strait to the metal. I went by a shop and they told me their would be no way but they seemed pretty retarded. I also asked them about sound deadening my front doors and they told me it was pointless to do that haha.
-
what is a descent price tho to pay someone to do it for you.
-
I was going to go get my windows tinted this week and the shop also installs sound deadening. I already have about 40sq ft of secondskin and wanted to know how much it usually runs to just do both front doors.

Ok so I sold my bmw and got a Expedition. Now with the new space I am looking at either 2 18" Q's with bp option or 2 18" BL's with cooling and flatwind. I would have 2500watts at 1ohm. They'd be in a ported enclosure and I only listen to rap. What should I go with Q or BL?
-
they will be hooked up to a orion2500d and I will have 2 batteries and a h/o alt with 1/0 ga wire and big 3.
-
lol wow I am a idiot that was right there the whole time...I am a lesson for why you dont post drunk.

I am looking at getting some Q's and I know that 2 12's will fit in my trunk sealed but I am not sure about 15's. How big would a sealed box be for 2 15 Q's?
-
I am looking into getting some new subs but I am stumped on what to go with. I want sq over spl. I would need 2 12's that would go in a sealed box. I also would be running from around 1000-1500 watts. My bugget is $500 for both subs. I have looked at the fi q, si mag, re se, rd classic, and infinity perfect. I could get each company new except for the si mags they'd need to be used for my price. If anyone has any suggestions please respond.
-
yea but they would be hooked up to a orion 2500d and at 1ohm they would each be seeing 1250watts.
-
Q's rms is 1000 so would it be ok without the bp option?
-
2 12's sealed with 1200watts to each sub.
-
Idk their stock tho. I will replace them once I get subs and get everything sound dampend and electrical upgraded so it will probably be awhile untill I get new ones.

LSQ still has all the features of SQ, just louder, it still has a properly set up front stage, and a sub that blends with the front and is not overbearing if you're looking for louder in the sub-bass regions with a decent sounding front, that's another thing entirely, and easily acomplishable well I want to accomplish that then. Sorry I am new to all of this. So where should I start looking?
-
damn would it still have good sq tho? I am going for LSQ the more I think about it.

Louisiana Anyone?
datsnowboy replied to bigtoepfer's topic in Competitions & Other Organized SPL/SQ Events
baton rouge here, go tigers! -
Hey anyone live in or near Baton Rouge, Louisiana?
-
That would easily overpower anything but the most extreme front stages Soooo.......in newbie terms what does that mean?
-
ok so I am thinking about going with 2 12 Q's with the dual 1 ohm for each and also the bp power option on both. Then wire the coils in series and the speakers in parallel for a 1ohm final load to the orion 2500d. Now would this be to much for a sealed box? I would be using this as a daily setup.
-
still cant find the post about the bp power option for the Q. If any one knows please reply.
