Need Help Deciding on Dual 12" Setup

No, I haven't really thought about DD. I remember reading up on them a while back and they seem to be more SPL oriented and optimized for ported enclosures which I'm not looking to do since I'm going with 1.1 ft^3 net for each sub.

Need Help Deciding on Dual 12" Setup

Thanks, guys. Do I even need the BP Power option, though? Stock they are rated at 800rms each and the Sundown should send just about that much to each if running at full tilt (which I don't do too often) @ 1 ohm.
  3. I just sold my 15" Q and am looking at going back to a dual 12" setup. I liked the sound of the 15" Q but truthfully wanted some of my trunk back and it seemed to lack a bit on the higher frequencies. I'm looking at running a dual 12" setup with 1.1 ft^3 per sub running off a SAZ-1500D @ 1ohm. I'm looking at the SSDs now but want to get your opinions on them in this setup and any options I should possibly get. The 15" Q had the BP power option and was in a 2.6ft^3 sealed enclosure. I'm looking for most SQ since with the 1500D it'll get plenty loud for my daily driving needs. No competition or anything like that. Thanks.
  4. I just sold my 15" TC-3K DVC so I'm looking for a new sub. It was in a 2.5 ft^3 sealed enclosure so I still have that box to work with. I also have a dual 12" sealed box 1.0 ft^3 per sub as well for use. The sub will be powered by my Sundown 1500D. I'm looking at the Havoc 15" to run sealed but haven't heard the sub so I'm looking for some suggestions on sub models and 1 15" vs. 2 12" subs. Looking for LSQ since with 1500 watts on tap I like to turn it up a bit. If you're wondering I got rid of the TC-3K since I have another for home theater use anyway but just want more SQ. It was a great sub but guess my ears are changing so looking for a bit more SQ than I had.

Havoc 12" Ported or 15" Sealed

So I've decided to try something different other than my TC 3K 15" in a sealed 2.5 ft^3 box and I'm looking at the Havoc. This is going in an '03 Maxima so I have about 3.5 ft^3 to work with since I still want to use some of my trunk. Sub will be powered by the SAZ-1500D I'm currently running. Would you recommend the 12" ported or the 15" sealed? I guess I could squeeze the 15" in there ported but I'd like to keep the box as small as possible. Looking for mainly a LSQ setup. Which would you choose and why?

    15" Havoc Replacement for TC-3K?

Thanks for the info. Let me know how they work out for you. I have plenty of power on tap for the 1 15" with the Sundown 1500D. I guess I'll just try the Havoc and see how much I like it. I can always sell the 3K or keep it for home theater use in the future or something...
  7. Hi, all... I'm currently running a TC-3K Dual 2Ohm on a Sundown 1500D and looking to make a change. I like the single 15" setup so I'm looking at the Havoc 15". The enclosure would be sealed, net 2.5 cubes, 1.5" mounting baffle for the sub. Looking for LSQ setup. Any of you have experience with both of the subs or how the Havoc would compare. The TC-3K hits incredibly hard down low but it's just not as "tight" as I would like and doesn't have much of a top end in my opinion. Also I'm open to other subs as well. Budget less than $400. Thanks...
