Why not a 8"? an 8" would have to be EXTREMELY slim for my use in the backpack. plus there's the enclosure....if you got designs i am not opposed but i think the tang bands would be alot easier.

advertise them as comps or something, ultra high-powered midbass, or some shizz. this idea is really going down the drain.

JESUS. wow a kid can't dream, make stupid predictions and cry when they don't come true? you guys suck the fun out of life. And though it changes little, i meant a 6" typed too fast i guess.

That is EXACTLY what I would kick someones ass for! (Most) people on here will turn it down in residential areas and at stoplights and such, it is very rude to make people listen you your music. Most never play it at full tilt because they value their hearing, myself included. dude, i live by rules of the highway, walmart was a one time thing...

are these any good? or are they high powered fart-cannons? two of dese on a SAZ-3kd? worth the time it takes to setup? http://www.stompaudio.com/spl-15-2800-watt...3a79638fda3eed3

my bad, didnt know that half was voiding terms. but one doesnt void it, surely not...? -
Here is my advice, take it if you want. Quality OWNS quantity. You have a somewhat small cabin space for that truck (unlike sedans or SUVs) and hitting the low low bass will suffer greatly because of this. Cone area is one thing, but the box is responsible for about 80% of the output, so between 3 10's or 2 12's in the same size box I would lean toward the 12's as the box is a bit small for 3 10" subs. (inhibiting low bass efficiency) First instinct would be to jump into the 12's for the low bass, but the problem is your restrictions on box size will prevent you from getting a box tunable to 25~30 hz. As the box gets smaller the port needs to be longer to tune low, but as the box gets bigger the port requirements get shorter to reach the low freq, there is a relationship here. The hardest part is lets say you build a 3cuft box, as you decide to tune lower the port gets longer, which takes up more space in the box, which makes the box even smaller, which makes port tuning even harder because you will be crunching TONS of numbers. & if you forgot to add in sub displacement your port will need to grow again. So you can either make the box bigger than you want to run the 12's & hope to be able to tune the port low enough, or Go with 2 10's, keep the box the size you want and be able to tune the port as low as you want because the box gives you the room to do so. I can say, 2 SSA 10's in a 2.6cube box ported to 30~31hz with 1500w rms is retarded loud. I am an installer/fabricator & have been doin this ish for years, and even I could not sit in that car for very long at full volume before my eyes began to hurt. So this 3cuft you claim to have, is that an absolute measurement? Or did you measure it & subtract for material space taken? (ie drawing a pic & mapping out the internal dimensions of the ideal box to calculate the actual interior air space, not taking into consideration woofer displacement or port displacement) MY...BRAIN...HURTSSSSSSSSS!

Does anyone besides me think that the full 9kw of three 12" type X's will destroy a perfectly good honda civic? i was thinkin 3 type X's in a buddy's civic. then three SAZ-3000d's. whatever, just lemme know.

why don't you run it at .5ohm? or maybe even 1 ohm? that would be more satisfying til the 3000d came in. be careful as hell if you try half, not many things in the world run safely that low. -
plastic makes the world go round buddy.

anyone know of a place near plainfield (or chicago) where i could pick up two DBXi's? zip is 60544 if it helps. buddy of mine is gettin a '66 impala gonna cram two 15's up in dat thing!

Pretty much all forward progress will stop as far as experienced people helping you out. Here is what you need to do- 1) Stop posting these type of threads. 2) Buy the Loudspeaker Design Cookbook by Vance Dickason, and read the 1st 4 chapters 3) Start posting again yikes, people you are harsh, but true... i should re-read my stuff before posting. thanks.

Nothing they have is really all that good. The W6v2 is, to me, one of my favorite subwoofers out there. By far the best product out of their line.omg jim stop being so smart!!! lol i feel young again...

would even adding the one TB in the precut location make it sound any better? mainly looking for decent low-end response, like say, the low note in "i run this" by birdman and lil wayne. just want LSQ lol is it even possible?

alright. i have an 8 ohm sub amp that is stock with my altec-lansings. totally wrong forum, i know it seems but wait. it is in my backpack, so there for it is mobile. well it isnt in a car, but thats not the point! 5" woofer, two bose 3's for mids, and two 50w roadmaster tweets. runnin highs and mids series'd , with crossovers of course, at 2ohms but woofer is at 8. would it be safe to run two 4 ohm woofers series'd at 2 ohm on an 8 ohm amp? thinkin bout these: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=264-831 in this http://www.alteclansing.com/images/product...arge/vs2321.jpg main concern is decent LSQ. lous as a mutha(expletive) now but thats just the highs, blazingly crisp but missing that low end. plus, i need port ideas cuz the 1.5inch wide port aint gonna let these suckers breath. here is original enslocure specs: Dimensions: 11.3" Height x 6.4" Width x 7.7" Depth - Subwoofer port is about 2inches high, 1 inch wide, ovular...(is that even a word?) and 8 inches long. thanks for tolerating my brutal creativity, and thanks for any positive ideas!

well i do believe it is time to suck it up and say, you are right M5. i probably do deserve to have it smashed about my dome if i continue to flaunt it menaciously. though, it was originally intended for my personal use, i found it increasingly difficult to find places to play it. at somepoint, i just got a little irked that i had gone through all that time and money to not be able to use it and said, if they dont like it too bad! but that, alas was not the right thing to do. hell yes i am going to keep building, and improving, and making it louder and whatnot but i will do so in a more respectful and courteous way. thank you for saving my ass M5, for, i see many a sound ticket in my future, and you made it one less thank all of you for your ideas, and support and criticism, as now i see everything cant be loved by everyone! so, i guess this means no more public enemy #1 for me... headphones in public. lol
-
Not the same meaning wow now that i read it, you are right lol
-
I guess it wont kill me to keep it in my ears in wal mart lol, as for the bit about the high end, props to guy who said " no highs no lows, it must be bose!"

That kinda hurts me, keep in mind i don't always think too far ahead, only 14 yet. i am gettin better but please, don't rip on me like i am an adult... Age should never be used as an excuse. quite true, but i know myself well, and i am prone to acting first, questioning later.
