Not sure about dimensions, but for efficiency? I think a T-line would be cool for a BTL on 4k rms.

I vote new sub Welcome to SSA.

I figured out why i either have massive port noise, or ridiculously high tuning. I never paid any attention to the port, other than noting that it was there. It is only like, 5" deep, 7" across , and 1/2" wide (Shaped like this [=====] ). I am going to extend it by adding the port from the other box to the current one.

The Tang Band website won't load for me, so if someone could throw me a box size, for these two woofers: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-832 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-831 I am thinking about a new speaker-backpack, for the school show. I will build the box for this out of 1/2" mdf, tuned to 32hz, with one aero port. Also does anyone know of a small (size) 2 or 4 channel amp (4 channel preferred) i need a realtively cheap small footprint amp, to go in a backpack. i am purchasing a 12 volt, or 14 volt battery to power it. Nothing too powerful, i want to keep away from clipping it.

What happened to the box at the top of the forum, that said the five most recent topics? Just curious.

Blowthrough box design for sedan - opinions needed
SpeakerBoy replied to the mange's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
The port would be the only thing firing into the cabin, sealed to the ski port. The rest of the enclosure would be sealed off from the cabin. The port would be roughly 12"x8". Still a bad idea? Separating the port from the woofer, defeats the purpose of the port. Read this. -
Happy Christmahaunakwanzakaa to all.

3000wrms @28hz

I'd say 3/4" is fine. Maybe even do a double baffle.

Are you sealing the port off entirely from the cabin? If so, bad idea. -
Firstly, 5/8" is more than 1/2". Secondly, if you built a box for a BTL, out of a single layer of 1/2"mdf, that box won't last very long at all. If you have 5/8", and alot of it, do a double layer all around.

Alright, cool.

What size speake wire for 2 BLs and 2600w Amp
SpeakerBoy replied to aherzing's topic in Fi Technical
That dude with the Tahoe.... uses 4ga..... -
well the two sonotubes seems to be the easiest and I can tune pretty low using them and still get about 12cubes for the pair. I dont think the subs can handle 3k not daily atleast and i do plan to add another pair once i get the money up for a blow through I still say go with the tubes, I just couldnt think of another word for it.

are these specs bullpoop or what? ax 5600g 5 channel
SpeakerBoy replied to gentlejax's topic in US AMPS
Nothing against US amps, but the way the description was written (the way the paragraphs in blue were worded), kinda pissed me off. It didn't seem very professional to me. A 5ch amp is a cool idea though. Small but mighty. -
I would say use the 10" aero ports and tune to 28hz. Should be good either way.

And one hell of a work out. I had a guy tell me once, if i could carry his sealed box, with two 15L7's, to the street corner and back, i could have it. I made it a good twenty feet.

Walmart sells AGM batteries that are roughly 5"x6"x3" I'm not carrying a full size battery. I'm not the hulk. I did forget, that my current backpack is rather heavy. The Rli looks pretty chunky too. So I could do the 8", but I probably wouldnt be very happy doing it. I found out the power ratings on my Kenwood KAC-642 4ch Note: All at 4ohm (4ch) 16w Rms x 4 (3ch) 16w Rms x 2 + 45w Rms x1 (2ch) 45w Rms x 2 I figure there's some headroom for a stronger amp (I can drive my kenwood full out, with no problems). If my estimate is about right, I think i could pull off 200w-250 RMS.

Hmmm....Let me see if i could cram an 8"x8"x12" box in my bag...Or a slight slant in the baffle... What kind of power would i need? I might have to make a notch in the box for the fitting of the batteries. Amp could go on the bottom or front....Does Knu sell 6ga? That would be good for power/ground (Maybe 4ga). I could back/bottom of the box then mount (2) or (4) bullet tweeters on the corners of the box not covered by the rli (facing up). This new plan would be purely for fun. Just to see if i can. I figure after a few weeks of bumpin, i'll throw it in my dad's car, as a replacement for the factory 8" in the rear deck (actually a sealed box mounted in the trunk, not IB ) How much polyfill would i need? I figure it's relatively cheap, but are there brands that are better than others? The lower it goes, the better. Oh, and this plan probably wouldnt happen til mid Feb, or early march (still job searching/saving for car).

Any estimation of current draw? What's the largest wire it will accept? Sounds good for a budget. Keep it pushin' Peace

I didn't think of it that way .

Seeing as during school is the only time i can use a computer (i am grounded until dec 25th ) It is frustrating to not get many replies from 7:00am-2:30pm I suppose i would be the same way if i wasn't still in Highschool and had a full time job. Well, what can you do?
