I don't know about you, but with 38cuft, i would do a super low tune with four 15's, or 18's if you could fit them. With 18's you would have to get pretty creative to squeeze enough port area out though. You could do somthing crazy like four triangular ports per woofer, at the four corners. What ever you do, I'm going to give a pre-emptive holy crap.

best way to wire the back batteries and amps
SpeakerBoy replied to Lucky 76's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Run the two runs of 1/0 to the back battery on the left (or right, whichever is closer to the front battery) then run two (I would do 4 to make up for having that distance between the batteries, overkill maybe, but it couldnt hurt) runs of 1/0 to the other battery and connect all amplifier positives to the second battery. -
Real SQ tracks, do they exist anymore?? Non mp3 files.

If you have an original iPod*, you can use rockbox to play your FLAC songs through the aux phono cable. Thats what i did, not in a car, but it works nontheless. Just get a car ipod charger and you're set. *It MUST be the original video, nano, and I think, the mini. Those are the only ones that support rockbox. RockBox -
Interesting. My 8455 doesn't have that hiss, neither did my 8053. You seem to want everything and buy nothing., but it isn't like Eclipse built them anyway. More or less they are still available. What's wrong with wanting? I'm not exactly rich, and neither is my family. Dreams are good. I do have a tendency to get carried away though

Man, I wanted to grab a pair of titaniums...

Bigger box = Deeper response

I would like to apologize to those i chewed out the week before last, I was dealing with alot of BS at home and at school, I shouldn't have let it carry over here, you guys didn't do anything wrong. Thanks, --Chris

speaker cut out

Not enough signal to the amp, maybe RCA's are getting pinched somewhere? -
x2 How old are they? The pictures suggest a little bit of age.

I wish you guys good luck in your business, you make kick ass products for a damn good price.
-
Man. That's crazy. Whoa.
-
Man, i would love to pick up a pair but i am financially...uhh...challenged. I am looking for a job, but without a reliable means of transportation it's kinda difficult. If the price is comparable i might grab those instead of wardens in the distant future.
-
Explorer for sure.
-
After slowly coming to a point in my life where I realize that dreams don't come with money to support them, I decided to stray from my initial craving for the Wardens and go for something i can afford before i'm 40. The plan consists of (2) MJ18M woofers tuned around 26 to 28 hz. The goal is Spl, but not at the expense of the low lows. I listen to alot of chopped & screwed music and like that ability to hear every note. The front stage is most likely going to be a SAX-100.4 on some Focal comps. I recently got a hookup for some decent deadener; almost free actually. i will do two runs of 0/1 for positive and the same for ground. Looking at a powermaster for up front and a bigger one in the rear. Oh, and a new alt too. my arm hurts from aiming the Wii remote, so i'll close up by asking for your guys' input on this plan. Thanks, --Chris Oh its between an Eclipse or a 2 door explorer. It would be a T-shaped box in the hatch of the 'Clipse or subs up port back in the SUV. not sure yet. I'm very tired just let me know if i am too vague about something.
-
Thanks. That dual motor is sick.
-
Thats cool. Makes me even more excited I was looking at the explorer, 4dr cuz something about it, I just like. Would it be that much harder to pressurize the SUV? I forgot to ask, have the two ohm versions come out?

What is the strongest amp that I can put on a 15" bl
SpeakerBoy replied to 85mag's topic in Test 1, 2, 3...
I'd say an RFt15k -
Why wall 12's? Is it that small? Either way...PICS!
-
My only real stipulation is that I get 18's. I am aiming for spl on my budget. a little sq wouldnt hurt, but it's not the driving force behind this plan. I am building a re-enforced box to use until I decide on a higher power pair. I am not at all expecting it from th MJ's on 1500rms but i would like to run a 149.9 with my Final setup. I would love to get into competing, maybe start some plainfield shows.

turn it up, i can barely hear it Very cool, nice flex

the most retarded "enclosure" I have ever witnessed
SpeakerBoy replied to Lucky 76's topic in General Audio
I would rather plug them into a socket. Wait, what do you mean you're not trying to destroy them? -
I recently found my Visonik 12" woofer and i decided to build a box for it. I have ~$120 for supplies so nothing elaborate. My plan is a little under 4cuft (before displacement) tuned at ~26hz. I would like to use aero ports. The woofer is rated at 250rms, but handled 400rms from my RF200.2 like a champ. I have ~140wrms of clean power to play with, from my HT amp (Samsung HT in a box, very nice system for $220, on sale) I am switching it out for the current woofer, the 8" that is currently in the corner. My parents always turn the sub level way down when they watch movies (frustrating lol) So its mostly for my chopped and screwed music, that i can't fit on my iPod shuffle. I am using 3/4" mdf and the dimensions are 2'x2'x1' How many of what size aero ports do i need? I can't figure it out, and it takes too long to enter all the info on my Wii. Does anyone know of where i could go to get these peices cut for me, in the event i cannot locate a tablesaw/router? So far i know to pre-drill holes in the mdf. I will be gluing and screwing the pieces together, and then clamping the pieces while they dry. I am buying full-thread drywall screws, liquid nails for wood, maybe some paint. I also found my trim ring I am getting excited, can't wait to hear it.

RMS wattage Calculation
SpeakerBoy posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Can someone throw me the calculation for RMS wattage, i think it's something about the fuse rating times something else. I Have a Kenwood 4ch amp, with a 15amp fuse wanted to know roughly how much i could possibly expect. Half of all websites arent working at the moment. School server is being funky with the blocking, i think Mr.B needs to reset the filters.
