Doing negatives on bench, and my spotter dropped 288 on me. Very unhappy. There was a discussion to be had....

I aquired the subwoofer mentioned above. It has a built in 5.1 amplifier, and a 10" sub. My question is, since i do not have the remote for it, how do I switch channels to have it play off the input from my computer? (rca) it has 6 channel inputs, l/c/r/s/rl/rr and it has two aux stereo inputs. But, i don't know how to turn it to the correct channel. Thanks for any input. I do know a bit about circuitry; Moving a few wires wouldnt be an issue.

I am looking for an amp for my room, a 5.1 amp/receiver, with a sub rca out for sure. I don't need a huge amount of sq, i just require it to sound good enough for a party, i.e. doesnt clip out at medium volumes up. I need it to get loud. My franken speakers are odd, in the sense that they take power very well, and sound much better than i think they should for $20 walmart speakers. I'd post a pic, but I don't feel like getting laughed at anymore. I don't care about it doing rated power (ie a pyle pro can claim 2,000w, but put out 800w), i just need at least a solid 75-125w per channel, actual output. EQ would be a cool option, not necessary. Budget is $200. Alternatively, A far more powerful 2.1 amp/receiver is also desirable. The ghetto hoopty speakers i have now are getting trashed and replaced quite soon. No idea with what, but it will definitely be worthy of being in the same room as the letters "SQ"

I'm thinking i'll buy it for my birthday, in November. But, if that is still before you pick something up, I will give as thorough a review as possibly =)

More channels, more to love =P That receiver looks like my dream come true. So much better than I thought i'd get for under $250.

Just asked disp, because i like numbers. i dont know that anything can be made of it. I vaguely explained a trunked car. for accuracy ill use an s80. all the candidates are roughly that size.

How will an HCCA sound in a sealed box, stuffed liberally? looking for a 30hz peak in a trunk car. SQ is priority, but with the ability to take your breath away. Three 12's, and three RF 4000BD's. electrically yada yada...... this is speculative, sifting through, as usual.
-
i guess i'd do subs back port up. no need for double the rms. headroom, and showoff room. they are like $450 brand new.
-
I better cover my ass before M5 grills me, and anyone in a ten block radius; This is just a query, i am constantly shifting in ideas and arrangements. as gas goes up though, this is looking more appropriate than four 15's in an SUV. Anyone with the formulas on tap, what does three 12's with 4" Peak to peak excursion equal out to in terms of displacement?
-
lolz. if you steal and think they want you back at their store? Special....lol
-
He probably just dosn't want it to sound 'bad' for his ear thats all. 12,000wrms technically, but yes and yes.
-
Power will be plentiful (4krms) per sub. would subs back port up be good for loud and low? I simply need stupid loud at a peak of 30hz. hoping for high 40's on music. if not much better.
-
pics and sepcs? couldnt find them anywhere.
-
Sorry, by SQ i simply mean, not mud. thats all. not mud lol. If it isnt tripping and pissing over the notes im happy. just have no idea how to port it when its a box for three twelves, in a half hex. (two subs 45 degrees or somethin rotated, one straight back) If you know an efficient way to port it in the trunk, i will say to hell with SQ and only play one-note rap songs to honor my substage. Bass is a strange addiction.....
-
Make sure you only have a battery under the hood. Perfect setup there.
-
well, i picked it for its ungodly displacement. i know its not the ideal sq sub. nowhere in the same (town, state, country, continent, planet?) realm. Edit on amps as well. just headroom, and playroom.

"that was louddddd" Lol. Cool system man. Those N3's good for 25-32hz?

is it valid if i send proof of parental consent? november is still a few months away =(

Like the title says, just some random photos across the internet that made you laugh. I'll start:

I have saved a little money for some wood, and still have glue, clamps and screws from my other box. I wanted to give building a T-line a try since i have heard fairly good things about them. It's just a for fun box, for my 12" visonik i got a while back. Amp and power and all that is covered, it's going in the house for now (no car til who knows when >.<). it's for music, primarily low notes in rap music. i was gonna try for a tuning of ~27-29hz. Now on to the hard part. I havent had alot of computer time recently, but in the time i have had, i couldnt find a calculator for a 1/4th wave transmission line. The specs i can give you for my sub: 250rms rated (takes double fine for a couple hours) 8mm xmax between 6"-8" mounting depth, and overall, in every box i've had it performs extremely well for a $20 sub, brand new. How do i calculate length for the line? Box will be 3/4" mdf. Size Is Not an issue. Thanks for your answers, looking forward to this project. Gotta get this done, severe boredom and grounding has landed my poor sub in a cardboard box (took the time to reinforce and deaden the cardboard too ). Sadly it still sounds better than my radio

Now that i'm playing the find-a-car game again, the beetle is back on my list, for price reasons. I currently have nothing planned (well i know i want thump, but beyond that, nothing) With a budget of $3k what is the loudest you could get a beetle, tuned low, to peak around 27-29hz. Back seats are optional. Would like a pair of subs, but a single badass sub wouldn't be the worst. everything besides the fabrication of the box, is done by my hand. This seems like a backwards goal, but my desired show off songs would be, like, Trunk Bang by dorrough and I cook - by OJ da Juiceman. If the low tuning doesn't murk the score, i'd like to be able to compete. Mid 140's would be a plus. Whatever the decision, mids and highs will be Focal.

That is stupid. He should know, it will obviously produce serveral decibels. Duh. Over 9000? Totally
