Earthquake Thrust 4.0
SpeakerBoy replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
For the record, it's a Jansport Hiking backpack. Lol. Not a car. I checked the fuse both visually, and for the fun of it with the little yellow thingy that lights up if it's good. All clear on that front. Only one fuse on the amp, 25a. I didn't fuse the power wire, it is only 8 inches long. No burned anything, no fried board aroma. I'm so lost. It died silently, no POP, or sparks or sizzles. -
Let me get in on that ride. Shittttt. Voted!

Memory wire actin' a fool

Installed a Sony (no comment) HU in a friend's car a few weeks ago, with no problems until another friend tried to replace the rear speakers. After which, the radio turn on wire does not function. To get the radio to turn on we have to wire both red (mem) and yellow (12+) to the 12+ constant. Checked every fuse in the vehicle, and smell no burned wires. If all else fails, we will simply run a new set of wires and re fuse them , but either way, i'd like to figure out what went wrong in the first place. 1992 Saturn SL (The awesome kind ) -

I have a stupid question, but can you strap an AQ 2200 to an AQ 1200 and run 2 subs on it or would it put it wayyy out of phase or something

"You got change for a buck tewnty five?"

Simply, would cotton work at all in the same way as polyfill? I know one is meant for it and one is sure as hell not, but I have pounds of cotton and a wretched internet connection so roaming the internet isnt an option for the rest of the week. All I need is a yes or no, and a brief why. I was staring at a pile of cotton from dog-shredded pillows, and got to wondering.

only thing holding me back is the sale of my subs. i want to sell every thing i have audio wise, to pay for this. everything is cosmetically fucked, but perfom great for what i paid. three tens, (two pro, one home theatre) four bookshelf speakers, (two different pairs) a pro 7", yeah.... I need $$$ lol

Like the title says, im building a new speakerbag. The fun of causing mischief at the mall and walmart n stuff has disappeared, I want this one for something easily movable, for bragging rights, but mostly as my room system. The backpack aspect makes it more fun =) I am purchasing 12 bazooka OEM 5" subwoofer/midbass drivers, and three 20wrms x2ch Class T amps. I have my two previous batteries (12v Motorcyle battery, 12.5v modem battery) to power the amps, they run on 12v. I have four 5.25" mid/highs speakers already, and will add foam baffles to finish those off If i can work them in. I'm thinking (8) 5's isobaric, sealed, w/ polyfill, in .5cuft. I'm not really looking for bass so much as a strong punch. Hence the 8 drivers. I'm thinking Isobaric, due to the space available (I need 8 for impedance reasons, more motor force is a plus =D). I am using a 12x12x(5.5inches at the top, 7 at the bottom)(about) Guitar amp box. I gutted it, and will put a new baffle on to hold the subs. Looking at it now, If i left The back open (that side is against my back while wearing it) Could I get more kick from the 5's? alternatively, I can buy a bag of polyfill and seal the box. Considering selenium Super tweeters on the straps. four maybe, two aiming up at me, two facing forward. Meant to be a fun project; so don't hate Subs Amps Both got excellent reviews.

yessir, i know. If i stuffed it with polyfill, and ported it, at like 38hz, would that be effective? 8 mounted iso. Can the extra motor force make up for a small box? the 8 would run at 4ohms a channel. 40 watts apiece. rumor has it that silver amp is a powerhouse. same as usual, as much thump as possible. super tweeters got the high end, along with a 4x10 horn.

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=265-081 Could that amplifier reliably produce at least 30w rms per channel run as a sub amp? rated for a 4ohm minimum, but with plenty of reserve i'll be running it at 2ohms.
-
=D how do they sound? I need punchy and deep. Also considering these subs run from this amp Also, that amp would kick ass with the 8 bzka'a four ohm load per channel; awesome. 80wrms. ten extra watts per sub to placebo the fuck out of my brain.

Brutality. But, I learned something right here. I thought it was like 'roids for your sub signal -
Anti-cholinergic Deliriant style substance; Frank hallucinations ((unable to be discerned from reality) auditory/visual). I'd explain further, but I don't think it's appropriate to do so here.

No, I chose to leave because they are verbally abusive; moreso than I can deal with anymore. Drugs are another issue entirely; my parents are aware of it though, and don't approve.

///M5: I have a severe Diphenhydramine addiction; it has caused my family a great deal of stress (hospital/ER visits, rehabs, brain damage etc), along with my dad not liking me for reasons of his own. My mother simply doesn't like when dad is mad at her so will agree with a ridiculous argument rather than do what's right. We just don't get along while living together, apart, it's been better in the past. I hope it gets resolved this time.

Alright, so I want to set a goal for myself, something to aim towards for my first project. Between saving for school and fixing my room (dog ate my carpet), i'd like to set aside a chunk of money for my 5.1 setup. If i had thought for two more seconds, i would have incorporated this into my previous thread, for the amp, but ehh. I am looking to build either four bookshelf type speakers, and a center channel, or two towers, and two rear bookshelfs, plus a center channel. I don't know anything at all about home audio. (M5 don't even post that i know nothing of car audio either, i see that coming) But, i do know my goals. This system is purely for music. I use the speakers built into my dell monitor for movies because I can't focus on the movie otherwise (too distracted adjusting and tweaking settings). I like my music very loud, to the point where it's only safe to play when the neighbors as well as the 'rents are at work. (10a-4p m-f =P) I was thinking maybe, a 6.5" a 3" and a horn per bookshelf speaker, or for the towers, two 8" speakers, a 6.5", a 3" and a horn. Leaning towards passive crossovers (built by me) for simplicity. I would like the midbass to have a strong punch to it, but not overwhelming. The substage is very confusing for me. Every subwoofer i have owned, or used, was (or is) super cheap, non-standard, and performed well above my expectations for such a goofy and improper setup. I seem to be quite partial to bandpass enclosures, though i repeatedly hear they aren't optimal for home use. What has me excited the most is, I have never had a proper enclosure. All have been too small, and the bandpass enclosures were super ghetto. Like, duct tape and the side of my computer seal the port (the computer is a port wall for christs sake). I was thinking, Four 12" subwoofers. They will have to be budget subs, $75ea including shipping. I love chopped and screwed/slowed music, Decaf is definitely a force to be reckoned with in my iTunes library. My favorite songs peak right around 28 hz, so i would like a ridiculous low end. I will most likely draw up a design and have the box made, due to my substantial lack of proper tools. Lastly, i would like to try to have the speakers match. I'd like one color for all the speakers, preferably black. Tweeters and horns are excluded from this, as chrome and shiny stuff dominates the market apparently. Thanks for the feedback, real excited to hear what you guys have to say. I will be assembling the towers first, here is my idea for them: 8" Dayton Point-source (2 per tower) 6.5" Eminence sealed-back Mid-range (1 per tower) Selenium Super tweeter (1 per tower) Let me know what you think. I'm so tired i'm drooling on my keyboard. Time for sleep, and dreams of better setups!
