    obsidian audio?

Run a pair. I suppose you COULD feed it 1250w rms....but why? It's not meant for that, so don't be surprised if it fails. Perhaps go smaller. If he had a 15, run two 12s, or if he had a 12, run two 10s.
  2. For the time being, how about this, Two pairs of http://www.parts-express.com/faitalpro-6fe100-6-professional-midrange-midbass-woofer-8-ohm--294-1150, front and back, and when it's warmer, and when I have more time, and the supplies, I can take the rears and build pods for two in each front door. I'll also run tweeters on the dash. I had alpine components in the front before, the midrange was nice, but the midbass was lacking by far, and the tweeters didn't seem as clear as I'd like. I'll also be getting a Zed Mikro to power the doors. Not sure on the tweeters yet.

    Is it overkill

No such thing as too much electrical
  4. My system seems crisper and more accurate when it's freezing outside, however, it seems louder when it's warmer

Going Out of Business Sale! Epik Subwoofers

That's a noble reason to shut down I suppose.
  8. What are the best parts of the door to deaden to improve midbass response?
  9. I could do the mids and highs passive, with the eights active as midbass, on a crescendo 1100.4 i think I could get fives to work in the dash cutouts too.
  10. Would pwx 6.5's and coaxial 4x6's screech hard enough? I'll get a suitable 4ch to power them.
  11. My BTL survived Could I do eights in the doors, 4's or maybe 5.25's in the dash, then tweeters/horns?

    New Truck - Audio pre-planning

My insurance is covering my truck and a tiny bit extra, so with the next vehicle, since I know it'll kill me if I don't ask, which is more audio friendly? (since the price differences on them locally are pretty much negligible, they all fall around $2500-3k) Jeep Grand Cherokee (1995-2003) Explorer Sport (1995-2003) or even another Blazer/Jimmy/Bravada (1996-2004) I'm only really picky about having 4x4; everything else, kinda blurs together to me. *The trucks i'm comparing are the ones that were left on the list after accounting for mechanical issues being taken care of; so no, I got my priorities in order

    what sub is this

It's something ///M5 would imagine I would run in my car. In other words, nameless junk? Seems like a mystery woofer. What's the word.... Frankenwoofer.

    New Truck - Audio pre-planning

The problems with 4 wheel drive is they suck on ice like everything else. Ice can just eat a dick. As well as drunk drivers but I mean, this could ignite a rant if i'm not careful lol

    Bike Sound System

I'm right here JJ, the fucker will weigh a ton. I had a Sony Xplode 12 on my Mongoose BMX, along with a car battery, two amps, a Jensen 200rms and a Kenwood 50x4rms, a head unit, mids and highs. Thing was hideous, but at the time, at fifteen, that shit slammed. I don't recommend a bike, it's HIGH maintenance, having no charging system and all. The wires are a big hazard, and I was lucky to have never been caught in the rain. You WILL NOT get usable bass from your setup. It will be glorified midbass at that; open air (no room or cabin) on a low power ghetto system doesn't produce favorable results. It was a magnificent learning experience, how various things work and such though. If you're hardheaded like me, then make sure to do the following: Leave NO exposed wires. Do NOT ground to the frame, do direct runs. Use high efficiency, small footprint amps and very efficient speakers. The Soundigital 250.2 might interest you. it's about the size of your wallet and does 2x125@4ohm. Adding thirty pounds would surprise you as far as the effort require to haul it around. double or triple that and well, think about it. *note* Be respectful. My neighbors all think I am an asshole, I rode around banging Oxycotton and Hollywood Driveby for the little kids to hear, don't play things that will upset others, especially when it's early/late or lots of people are around. I understand showing off is fun, but be considerate of others. You ARE able to get a sound ticket on a bike, I got one
  16. My BTL as well as my amps and HU survived my wreck :)

Drunk in my lane, headed my direction ran me off the road and I spun, rolled, then the rear wheel sunk in the ditch, caught in one of those drainage pipes that go under driveways, and snapped it, flipped me bumper over bumper onto the roof.

Using Infinite Baffle Driver in Sonotube Arrangement

I believe for IB you simply need ten times the VAS of the driver. I'm intoxicated so it might be the wrong T/S parameter but a supppper big sealed enclosure, perhaps stuffed to shit would work. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i've come across that a few times in a few years.

    Re-building my front stage

Thanks guys. And don't worry. I won't put the BTL in a backpack. Time to pass out. See you all later.

    Re-building my front stage

I am not at all satisfied with my current mids and highs, they are just loud enough to be heard over the BTL, but they sound horribly stressed and weak in comparison. I wanted to put a pair of 8's in my front doors, and some new tweeters up on the pillar or the dash; before I look into getting pods made for my doors, has anyone had any luck fitting 8's in the doors of a Blazer/Bravada/Jimmy ? i'd like to keep it simple, at least til it's warmer out.

    Re-building my front stage

No broken bones, but my hands are torn up from digging through the snow looking for my phone in the panic (my phone is my 20 year old blankie, i'm unhealthily attached). When they managed to pry me off my truck, I looked at the snow and my hands and theres shattered glass and blood everywhere. I couldn't see the glass in the snow, plus the adrenaline and the cold, I didnt feel it happening. I had an anxiety attack in the ambulance and apparently snarled something so vicious about my sound system the police agreed to escort my truck to the tow lot.

Truck is totalled. Was run off the road at 50mph by some cunt driving halfway into my lane coming the opposite direction. Sheared off a rear wheel at the frame, crushed the roof, landed upside down backwards in a drainage ditch

    Re-building my front stage

Then fix the road noise first. I also think you have confused what is actually louder. I doubt it is any louder adding the extra set. Sure some frequencies will be but overall I doubt it unless you changed something else at the same time. It's not much louder, it's only really still hooked up for passengers. I have a time alignment processor on my hu that I could use if I stuck to one pair
  23. SpeakerBoy

    Re-building my front stage

Road noise is so high I usually end up with it louder than i'd like for most listening. I originally only had the alpine comps and they simply weren't loud enough, vocals drowned in the bass
