I hear a lot of people say the SQ subs don't get low as well as a lot of other subs known around here, that being said, I haven't heard either for myself I know you've narrowed it down to two options, but if you're open to suggestions, I'd suggest FI, my BTL has been nothing but exceptional.

You'd think it'd be a pretty basic concept for a you know, woofer company to get right o.o

Purty =)

Make sure to take some pictures for the build log

I take it that they aren't for any sort of high level listening? I'm not talking about blasting it, but for example, the same level of sound you'd get from a live performance at a restaurant, like, a band on stage playing some jazz or blues. I have caught a case of "my speakers used to be satisfying but now they sound like mud to me" pretty badly lol.

I'm just beginning to learn about open baffle setups, I am planning to grab a sheet of mdf, cut it down to a pair of 2x4ft panels and trying out a set I have on hand, can anybody throw me some advice on picking speakers for open baffle? What should I be looking for? I've heard these can provide a very natural sound.

If you have that much space, just go with a flat wall or a clam, BTLs will not fail to put out. I love mine =) 7.5cu a woofer, 120sq of port per and you'll be a wind tunnel.

What woofer is getting a new home here?

Happy birfday mang =)

Understood. I have my big old towers for when I want it loud, but in home, i'm really starting to like SQ more than just loud all the time. I like the airy, open sound of some nicer speakers i've heard. I don't know quite how to put it, but it's like, the sound is delicate yet very present. Forceful with authority but not overwhelming. I don't even know where to begin making improvements to move towards that. SQ seems far more complicated. My musical taste is changing as I get older. For the BTL rap is fun, but more and more I notice it all sounds like shit even EQ'd to the best of my ability, it's just shit recording. Older stuff is coming out more and more in my playlists.

95Honda and ///M5 have been big brains on this site since before I joined here, it'd serve you well to at least consider the advice before getting upset about how it's worded. Being wrong or learning something works differently than you thought can be frustrating but in the end, we're all here to learn right? And I won't lie, you seem to have a touch of ADD lol. Just take it easy man. -
:'( Sorry to hear that. That's not long after I lost mine.

What is the rms power rating on those subs?There is no such thing as under powering a sub. If you have a amp that puts out only 200 watts rms above the subs rating you can adjust the gain to not over power them. You have a lot to learn about car stereo ! Well yeh actually you can under power them . considering they are rated for 1000 RMS and they are only getting 750 a piece I'm pretty sure that's underpowering. And yes I have a lot to learn that's why I'm asking questions on an audio forumBy there is no such thing as underpowering he means it doesn't matter to the woofer, and for example, use a larger box and you won't need as much power to do the same as you would in a smaller enclosure. RMS is just thermal rating, not a "this is required to make it work" rating -

Type R's are 500rms but a couple years back my friend ran a pair of twelves at one ohm on an AQ2200.1 and they took it quite nicely. Pretty sturdy woofers They were in a smaller ported enclosure, so take that into account. -
Thank you =) I was curious about the razorlite panels. They look NUTS.
