Seen many people do subs up in a pickup. Jon purposely fed them bullshit to see what their limits were lol he said he even burped them on the ns-1, one coil each woofer, til they smoked, and when he wired them back correctly, no damage. Accidentally, but the facts are there lol. They aren't chumps =)

A pair of 1800w subs on an NS1 >.>Did you also take the time to read when he compared them to his previous woofers? If you can, listen to a set of both before making a decision. Don't get me wrong, I own a FI that I absolutely love just trying to help make a well informed decision.

What makes you automatically say the Ethos is lower quality? Shit, BigJon did hair tricks with a pair of rear firing fifteens from the trunk in his Lincoln, seat UP. What's your vehicle, and what exactly are you after? I'm guess all out loud?

I have my stereo reciever and sub amp across the room from where I sit when I listen, so I use the source to control volume. However, since I never use the volume knob, the system is set to max listening volume all the time and when I unplug the aux cable I get like, obscene popping. My woofer trys to leave the box and the mids punch me in the face. How can I reduce this effect so I get a quiet connect/disconnect? I'm okay with buying a part if it's not too expensive but I have no idea what to try, and my reciever is older than me, meaning, no remote to mute it when the cord is moved. I myself know the switches and don't mind shutting it down before unplugging, but I let my housemates use it from time to time and don't like how hard on the equipment that pop seems to be.

I meant I'm okay with going through the process lol, not I'm okay with the disconnect pop Something like a PAC LC-1? That would actually be perfect.

I'll start there. Thank you =)

Like I said, I'm okay with it, i'm used to it. I'm more concerned about when I'm not home. They look at my stereo like it's a spacecraft. All it is, is a 2ch Realistic sta-2250 and a Yung SD-500-6 -.-

That's the only approach? Guess they are going to have to learn that. Thanks

Not just through the panel, I mean, a ported enclosure attached to the door. Not like, ported IB lol
-
was thinking of it running the length of the door, and having it mold into the armrest. Basically as big as it can be without being an eyesore. What's port area rules for midbass? Also, would an aero be as beneficial? I think it would look nice if I can situate it nicely.

A five seater that does hair tricks and remains musical is what I'd like. I dont think I'd want to wall, I'm nowhere near that good with wood. Most likely I'd have the subs way down most of the time, to have it be a little cleaner at comfortable listening volumes. On the highway is really where I like to turn it up. Less to worry about, easier to enjoy. What's more useful for a hair trick, more surface area, or a smaller area that it's focused on? It sounds like the same, but I've seen people doing hair tricks with trunk walls, two twelves or an eighteen, and I know even when I first installed the btl and my friend let me play with his Aq2200 it wasn't feeling like it was even close to that level.

If I'm going to cut and glass my doors, I'd want to go ported. If I changed my mind, I can always plug the port. You kinda fucked me up when you stated that nothing will produce midbass over four eighteens, and I suppose I never really stopped to consider it in depth. I'm thinking about perhaps a smaller system. I'm more than certain a pair of fifteens will still do some damage. I don't even know anymore. I'll have a better idea once I finally hear the btl on 2-3k. Never fed it more than 500w before the accident. I am just torn, because I've always wanted to be able to do hairtricks.

What kind of 10 would you recommend to pair a set of horns with? I'm still in the dark when it comes to choosing raw drivers.

building bandpass for 15, need some advice.

You got it backwards Smaller number = bigger wire Probably not an audible difference -
Fluids need to be checked on a regular basis. At the very least once a week. Battery connections at least once a month. Just saying Certainly from now on lol. I got lax, my blazer never had an issue from purchase to accident. New fuse, and gasket and my friend is driving it home as I type this

We didn't even realize it was leaking til yesterday. Not smoking and never even heated up past normal. Checked oil less than a month ago. The reserve was -empty-
-
The 70a main is blown, and we're thinking valve cover gasket. It's in the shop now, my buddies aunt offered to foot the bill, beats frozen hands.
-
We alsp found oil leaking, under one of the spark plug connectors. Just one though, other three are clean. No oil in the reserve. Started smelling what I thought was clutch three days ago but it was shifting fine.
-
Would that even prevent a push start? We are trying to get kerosene to heat the garage, cold fingers make pulling them super hard.
-
I've heard those woofers prefer a higher tuning across the board
-
What are you even trying to compare? We need goals to be able to help you achieve anything lol
-
Im all for keeping it simple. Less equipment to buy means more in the wallet lol. Would a ported eight on axis be able to produce punchy midbass and clean midrange against 5kw? Three ways are a little daunting, I admit that lol. I've been looking at a lot of Morel stuff lately, but I've never heard any of their stuff. I haven't seen anything more than Alpine, Pioneer, etc locally. Is it asking a bit much to get tens in the kicks of a tahoe?

Can you explain a little more on why horns in a three way is no good? I was under the impression that the waveguide helped to reduce the amount of power needed to reach the desired listening level. Well, and it affects frequency response
