    Speakerboy's new Whip

Nice how does it sound?Picked them up an hour ago lolBrought them inside til I wire up the truck, threw them on a 500rms plate amp, and I'm in love. Nice and flat, everything I throw at em sounds so musical. I have one 10" gcon running on 400 wrms.I'm actually starting to consider some SSA's instead of the mag v3's, my neighbor is having me build a box for his icon in a few weeks, can't wait to hear one in person finally.

    Distance Between Ports and Hatch

Truthfully, for looks, I'd go as far back against the seats as I could, but iirc I think you want at least port radius distance from the hatch? Could be diameter as well, I'm not completely sure. More room won't hurt it though.

My first build for a customer

Bourbon has me lazy tonight, true that lolPersonally, I never order smaller than zero, just makes me feel better.
  7. Hey guys, got a huge favor to ask, i'm doing my first build for a customer, for a neighbor, for an Icon 15d2 in about 4cubes @ 28hz forward firing in a 01 deville What should I shoot for for port area, and have any of you done forward firing setups in a deville before? I'm tryna make a good impression lol. We're going to carpet it to match the trunk for a stealthy look, well, as stealthy as a ported fifteen can be lol. It'll fire through the ski pass. I guess I'm super anxious about it since building for yourself you never have to worry about an upset customer, you just rebuild. Thanks in advance. Edit: It's for a blend of all types of music, and the mids and highs are the stock bose.

My first build for a customer

He'd like it to look as factory as possible. Going to hide anything that'll fit behind, or under a panel or carpet. Should we order a zero gauge kit for the Brx 2000.1? I'm new to having the battery close to the trunk, haven't had a peek at the factory charging cables yet.

X'D Any recommendations for brands to seek out and audition? Never owned any pa style drivers before, unless my horns count. how much space can you have tuned to around 70ish Hz?I haven't opened my doors yet, I'll have a better idea once I order some deadening and pop em off. I don't mind a 1-1.5 cube pod tops, I have the pocket in the door I can fab over.

    Speakerboy's new Whip

If I frequently have passengers, would a set of silver flutes in the rear doors be beneficial or can I focus on beefy front doors and still have it sound clean in the rear? I know my blazer doors were inaudible from the front lol I'd have my rears on a switch for when I'm riding alone.

    Speakerboy's new Whip

I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to try my hand at an SQ build with a little beef on the low end . I'll probably return to the dark side eventually, but truthfully my older brother had three Memphis twelves sealed when I was back in highschool and it was one of my favorite sounding systems to date. It dropped low with authority, great on it all, and got plenty loud for a daily. With triple the power he had on subs, i'm sure it'll make me happy for quite some time. With the price of the mags, I'm sold really.

    Ported or bandpass

I'd almost say sealed with a DUMBASS amount of cone area

    Door speakers

I think a good place to start would be some deadening, some baffles and some component auditions. Try to avoid pro audio speakers to start, I don't think most people who use them chose them for the right reasons.

    Door speakers

Different brands and different lines of speakers are kind of like different flavors. Can you audition some locally to see what suits you?
