Thats straight up horsechit. I'm not sure how the law works in your area but apparently it's based on something else other than actual law. In most places they can't pull you over for something you did the day before(unless its criminal). Where I'm at if the cops here see you but don't get you, then see you again later w/o the system on, they can't ticket you for it. I should know, I went thru this from a rookie cop and the judge threw it out because of this. so. you all know me as the kid who is only 14 but dreams big in terms of bass. now here i have another stupid idea. i asked my mum if i could get like, a present or sumthin if i got straight a's first semester in school. (ima sophmore now, no longer FRESHmeat lol) she, surprisingly said yes. first thing that popped into my head, and out of my mouth was "iCon 15d2" and dude, i almost cried cuz she still said yes when she saw the pricetag. so here are my plans. it is eventually goin in my car, so the box is going to be a low ported mdf. i want to know what i can do with it for a ht setup whilst i wait for my car. i am iffy on max power, estimating between 1500-2000w seeing as it doesnt clearly state peak on shop page. anywho, i am thinkin 800-1000rms. in my bedroom(20x15ft) will this sound good? i have a 5 channel amp for highs, uhh sherwood 8701 i think, and about 50w a channel under load. in the event you need further details, i am at heart, a music person. i listen to pretty much all rap, a little rock here and there, and occasionally al little jazz. but this is a rap setup, cuz i am gettin bass deprived since my speaker bike broke. now i have been thinkin' and i have a great idea for super efficient woofers. i ain't gonna reply til someone important who can actually do sumthin about it asks though. hint hint: i want to talk to you guys at SSA.

so in two years, i am getting a car. it will be my 16th birth day present. now my plan is: (4) MJ-18's in a clamshell (4) 6.5" tang bands in the doors (1) U.S. Amps XT-2000d @ 1ohm (subs) (2) Legacy LA160's (mids and highs) and 6 pioneer tweeters. all this crap is going in the back of a 99' beetle. ported and tuned to 30Hz, will this monster blow my car up? i mean it would be fun, but i would have no mode of transportation. so please, tell me now if doing this will be a waste of money and/or put me out of a car. i mean, how bad could it be? i just like my music loud!

the first note is way louder than the rest of the song so when it hit and i had the volume up , it cracked the brand new woofer

Just an FYI for your friend, he'd need a heck of a lot more cone area for it to work as a passive radiator. One 12" out of 5 isn't going to do it. nah it isnt meant to be, it is just better that a 12 inch hole in the box. the woofers cone is cracked because of my favorite song at max volume...(pop trunk wave, by trae)

If I read your post right, you're talking about high efficiency, PA-style woofers in the 96-100dB/W range? nah i am talking monsters. blow up ya car monsters with way less power than usual.

ummm jeez... i was imagining a bit smaller...ugh but i had a pair of twelves as my sub in my room, and all i wanted was more. hell, my bro has five 12" woofers in his explorer running at 5kw total and i just want more...i love those lows, those windshield smashing lows that just shake the ground. what i forgot to mention was, i am going for spl, as in , i want to do competitions. now is that possible with a beetle? or even a camry? i mean, i went on youtube lookin at stuff, and ran across 'galamonkey' and his four fi btl18's and loved it. i just want a car that has MORE that one mile to the gallon. (he drives an expedition) thats an old build..... even so....... and who in the hell runs 5 12's i wanna see the ohm load on that 4 12's are hooked up, and one is acting as a passive/seal so it is at 1 ohm
