    Sundown sa 6.5cs v2 rms

Overpowering isn't really the best way to net better performance. What do you want out of them that they can't currently do for you?
  2. *sweats* Do you know if there will be another run?
  3. Figured it out. Bought it through DB Electrical, it's cheap as hell, rated for 200a at 2k or something like that, and 100a at idle. Cost me like 250 shipped I figure it's a mix of, the regulator has to perceive the voltage drop before it ups current which happens too fast with music for it to be supported solely by the alt, and, no reserve. I guess up next is the pair of interstates. Do any of you know how to locate the oem dual alt bracket for the Ford 5.0? I have a perfectly good oem 130a alt on my desk now. Anyway, my voltage IS better, I just hadn't re set my gain, so Future was nothing but clipping the night I dropped the alt in. Backed the gain down til it got a hair quieter and no issues since. My voltmeter should arrive by the end of the month, so it'll get sorted out pretty soon I think.
  4. Christ Maybe I'm just not satisfied with the output
  5. They are hard to find now. Oh no.... Are they discontinued?
  6. I wouldn't mind, but adjusting the sub out level makes it very punchy which I don't like in a woofer
  7. Mostly upset because it was small enough to tuck behind my glovebox. Want to keep that same form factor, but a Zed Mikro is a bit much right now, so it looks like i'm just fix it and decide whether or not to throw it back in the truck.
  8. For one of the smartest people I know, you're a dumbass lmao Can't afford to be taking shortcuts.
  9. Haha ///M5 nobody has time to disconnect the negative battery, we take shortcuts around here. :Speakerboy doesn't have time not to.Seriously though. It does take all of one minute or so. More like the money to afford to, lbs
  10. I was saying, with both decks flat, everything off, at full tilt the Sony doesn't push my amps nearly as loud as the pioneer did. Pioneer sounded better at every level. I only switched back to the Sony because I missed t/a. Not sure if I should get a MiniDSP first, or a new unit first, both are on my shopping list. With the pioneer the btl got loud enough to tickle a bit, but with the Sony I could barely get half throw without max gain, and a ridiculous eq curve, +6 on sub out (max) Not entirely relevant to the rest of my post, but that's what led to me finding myself in this predicament
  11. You've never made a mistake you ended up learning from huh, lol Sometimes experience is a better teacher than words, what can I say. So, fumbling around with my amp today I was mildly irritated that I'd managed to scratch it up so much in 6 months of owning it when I noticed, there's paint missing from right behind the remote screw, a teeny dent and black streaks on the terminal screw so I'm guessing poor clearance. Scraped paint off tightening the terminal down, and finally bit it when the wires were getting fucked with during the swap. If I can get the fog out of my s4 camera I'll post a picture of it. Indescribably happy that my AB didn't meet the same fate.
  12. I didn't, it's a terrible habit, I know. I put a Lanzar Vibe in its place and no issues so far other than sounding like ass. But, free amp. I'm gonna send it in and see what they say. I'm not sure what I'll do once it's back, I couldn't get full output from it with my Sony deck. Shit, I can barely get the BTL moving without the gain maxed on the AB 2k in a 12cu ft box, where as the pioneer sounded richer, low end was more powerful, and overall sound was clearer.
  13. Discovered my system is decently louder than I thought, turns out my sony is just weak as fuck...direct swap to the pioneer resulted in ear tickling and hella flex...

  14. Looking forward to scooping an IA DP21. Box is built, just needs finishing touches.

  16. I haven't had time to really sit down and write out a full update, I have been going through the roughest patch of my life so far I'd say; but basically, I got my Taramps mounted hidden in my Dash, I scooped an american bass 4k (2k rms @ 1ohm) for my ID 15's, installed my Dayton AMT Tweeters, and the next to get installed is a MiniDSP 2x4 and a 200a Alt. getting the hang of phasing and time alignment, proper aiming. got my MDF baffles installed, and am eyeing up some daytom 8's to match my tweets. so far, this is the best sounding system i've ever owned. The ID 15's sound so so clean and clear, and I'm not even at full amperage However, I took my truck into the shop the other day to track down a trans coolant leak, and the guy who test drove my truck took it out and whipped the fuck out of it and blew my Trans coolant lines out all over the road. Basically drove my truck like only i'm allowed to. Honestly, i'm worried for my motor the way it was pouring fluids and smoking when he pulled in. I drove it to the shop for fucks sake. one bank of Cats is clogged so badly the other glows red hot inside and my OD issue that I told you guys about. So the Neer is out of commission for a while =( I was seriously pissed, the first thing he said to me was i'm not responsible for that. SO heated. If he fucked my shit up too bad, I'm going to park the Neer, scoop a CRX or a geo or something to roll for a while, and build a 5.0 up next summer, get it sleeved, maybe a stroker kit, port n polish, tons of goodies. New to it, but I'm excited. So it's win win to me. Oh also, I've managed to put down the pills and the bottle for the first time in six years, so really, none of this can bring me down. I'm on top of the world, and it's just a car catch y'all later, back to working thirteen/ones at Papa Johns lolllll

Progress on the Neer, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Appreciate it =] Been getting an itch to get out of the house and find more events to attend, and meet more people in the hobby lately. I hardly know anyone near me that's into cars at all, let alone audio >.< Saw a guy drive by with a slamology sticker a few weeks ago though, so I know there has to be some around here lol
  18. Do any of you guys in the Fort Wayne area know of any decent transmission shops around here that do payment plans? I'm in the middle of finding a new apartment so the smaller a hit I can take at once, the better. Normally id just wait til I had the trans handled to move, but my roommates steal and pawn my shit.
  19. Has anyone experimented with these? If so, what brands? I've read some promising things, and for the prices im seeing I'm willing to scrap my sony to give it a try. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015IVIN9U?psc=1#immersive-view_1444557020300 Random example. Seem to be becoming more popular lately.
  20. Buy a unit, or built your own?
  21. Oh then fuck the off brand bullshit. Thanks for the idea =] Im screenshotting your post for payday >=]
  22. What do I need to complete a nexus install?
  23. Seen some of the off brands go for three to four with promising reviews
  24. installed my Dayton AMT tweeters and....wow is all I can say ^_^
