LOL... only if you play it on an 8-track with one of those transistor radio earbuds... you know, to get the full effect!

It'll be done later in the season. Priority #1 for now is to put the finishing touches on the install as it stands and complete the presentation book.

quick update... Did a local show in north Georgia saturday. I think I was the only pro SQ guy there so... 1'st in SQC 1'st in Pro SQi 1'st in MACS Best of show Sound Quality The truck is still sounding good. The 10IB4's in the kicks are breaking in... not in a good way though. They aren't as tight as they were when I first put them in, so they aren't blending with the super fast attack and decay of the L4's anymore. I think it's time to drop a set of L8's in the kicks and scrap the 10IB4's... the L8's mate up nicely with the L4... really fast and accurate compared to the the 10IB4's.

Great job Gents!

Congrats Bro! Gotta like knowing that you can still hang with the young'uns after 17 years... LOL I went to a local show yesterday as well... we weren't at the same show and didn't know it were we? Mine was in Cornelia Georgia. Single point IASCA event.

Hybrid-Audio guys: What Head unit and/or processor are you using?
Dave Brooks replied to johnecon2001's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
No problem Bro... I'm all about the layman reviews... LOL -
HOLY SMOKES Man... You weren't kidding... you got the sub-bass department covered!!!! LOL Friggin' sweetness

right on... I like the look as well... I noticed the "disconnect" in terms of RCA connector types at the fosgate amp, but figured you were still under construction, so it wouldn't serve any purpose to bring it up (other than to sound like a total donkey by trying to make myself look like I'm all attentive to detail and stuff... LOL) Anyhow, thanks. And nice choice, aesthetically speaking. You gonna post pics of the finished product once you get 'er done?

If you don't mind me asking... What brand RCAs do you have plugged into the H701?

Update for those following the thread... I am now using the Alpine 7990 and H900 combo. At this point, I prefer the Denon DCT-1 over the CDA 7990, but it may just be because I'm not used to it yet. The DCT-1 tracks faster and is less finicky about scratches on CD's. Doesn't get nearly as hot as the 7990. Not that the 7990 gets hot, just that the Denon runs cooler overall. I still like the aesthetics of the DCT-1 over the 7990. Both are sexy, but the black DCT-1 has more... I don't know, mystique? It's more elegant, maybe that's the best way to put it. Edit - H900 vs H701? No comparison. Not even close at any level. -
I think he means something with a fast attack at low frequencies.

I'm an on-axis one-seat kinda guy... but I don't recommend it for what you are doing... not at all. So I'll shut up and let the off-axis masters speak

Thanks FoxPro! James - you know I like the funk... in fact, the majority of the system was built with funk playback in mind. Midbass madness! Heh, did you hear it when I got judged for MACS? Gap Band - You dropped a bomb on me. Yessir. And thank you for the huge compliments :-)

Crap, I just realized I didn't post my results in the 2008 season debut at Elite Summer Nationals... whoops... Here ya go: IASCA: 1'st place in SQC 1'st place in MACS MECA: 3'rd place in MODEX+ Top 30: 12'th I'm totally pumped about the debut results. That 3'rd place came right behind Dave Timmerman and Matt Roberts, both are friggin' icons in that class. I couldn't have hoped for better placement against that caliber of competition for my first show as a Pro. I'm bigtime pumped with this install. A little showy, but it sounds awesome too. As soon as I get back from New York, let the refinements begin!!!

Yeah if you're doing vids like Jurassic park and looking for the L8 to shake the car when the T-Rex stomps... ummm... It goes plenty low and sounds darn good down there, but it ain't gonna shake the muffler brackets none :-) It'll shake the panel it is mounted to, but not the whole car.
-
LOL... more is better! Or something like that

Doods, I couldn't be happier. Parking with you guys was totally worth it. I posted some love on your Elite thread. Hey James, I can't remember how you placed... second? And ummmm... why didn't I listen to your rig? That was right stupid of me. I listened to Daves (nice!)... but not yours. Dumb. On the other hand though. Doods. I was friggin' wore out by the end of the day. I think the truck is gonna be a hit. That's the most attention I've gotten at any show ever. Dwayne told me the catch-phrase of the day was "Holy Sh**" from almost every person that looked at it. That was also the most demos I've ever given as well. I'd be an idiot not to give mad props to Hybrid Audio, Genesis and T3 Audio for their support. Without their faith in me, I wouldn't have near as much kit to show off and certainly wouldn't have the same quality either. Huge thanks!! You guys are instrumental in my success and I'm grateful beyond measure.

werd... forgot you live in So. Florida

Hey Kickin' you know I'm down with an audition with you anytime... you and that freaky weird music you like to play
-
Definitely gonna be a fun time. On a side note, I went to someones house yesterday to fix their computer and their son wanted to audition the truck. So I hand him the keys and tell him not to fear the volume knob. I go in the house to work on the computer and 15 minutes later I've got a cop in the driveway giving him a warning... That's a first for me... LOL That was with the subs turned off. I like the new system immensely. Mind you, I'm not advocating blasting in the 'hood... in fact, I hate that crap... I'm just pleasantly surprised at the results thus far.
-
No updated pics, but the rig is playing now. Needs some serious tuning, but holy smokes it already exceeds my wildest expectations. I'm excited!! Oh and don't let Scotts sexy-bitch aura scare you off. He's a big cuddly bear inside... LOL
-
I hope it meets your expectations!
-
Yeah... especially in this day and age... No harm no foul Bro, totally understandable

Sick6 - its in spartanburg south carolina... http://www.elitesummernationals.com/ FoxPro - It's a bit hard to accurately determine how much I've added in terms of weight, but if I had to guess I'd say roughly 40 pounds with the door panel, damping, speakers and fiberglass. The white part you see is actually sanded gray primer. I cut the bottom 2/3 of the door panel off, leaving only the outside edge as a guide. Built it back up with layers of MDF. Screwed the MDF into the existing panel, then fiberglassed it as well to make sure it was super tightly adhered. Lots of kitty hair and then topped it all off with rage extreme. The door panel alone last year was close to 50 pounds. This year I put it on a diet by reaming out four more speaker holes and then slimming it down in the thickness department.
