The contract I have with the Second Skin people is just that. An contract. Writen up by lawyers, reviewed, modified and agreed to by both parties. Nothing is shady, nothing is unusual and both parties profit from the relationship. One more than the other. Again, all you have is hate and anger that you use to color me as a you see fit. No proof and no tact. Just throwing shit on the wall and hoping it sticks. None of it ever has. Half of a skid was messed up and it slipped by me. Only happened once. The foil has nothing to do with product failure. A few years ago I listed my company; Second Skin Audio LLC for sale on a couple of websites. Last year I decided to get serious about selling it, and decided to list it with a broker. He did an amazing job for me, and in less than 4 months I received my first and only offer. I accepted, and over the last 3 months have been working closely with lawyers, my CPA, broker and the buyers to work out all the details. The purpose of this announcement is to inform everyone that Anthony Collova is no longer the owner of the Second Skin company. The new owner is a gentleman named Ken Kanefield. Him and his wife Sue sold their auto glass company, and bought 100% of Second Skin Audio LLC. For the last 4 weeks I have been training the new owners in the daily operations of the company. I will remain on temporary staff for the rest of the year, helping with phone support for Ken and Sue. The phone numbers, email addresses, and website details will all remain the same. Products, prices, and shipping methods will also stay the same. The only change will be the person sitting behind the desk and answering the phone. Oh.. The desk however will be moved from Phoenix, where I live, to Tucson, where they reside. My plans for the future are simple. I am going to travel with my girlfriend and my dog. We plan on living in a different state or country for 3 months at a time, for the next 2 years. First stop is Austin, then Chicago, then Manhattan. After NY, we will be moving to Rome, Madrid and London. Then we hit Asia.. All of this will start April 2011, after I compete in my first NPC body building competition (no joke). I am ready, and have been ready to move on for quite some time. I started the company with a $700 loan from my father, and managed to do pretty well for myself. I am MORE than happy with the way things have turned out. For now though, I want more from life, and plan on getting it while I am still young. I turned 35 yesterday and though I am semi retired, I still feel like I have a lot left to do in the business world. I formed a new company called Collova Media Inc. and will soon be managing a portfolio of online businesses built from my own capitol. The goal is to work 3-5 hours per week, from anywhere in the world. So far I am well on my way! I want to thank all of my friends and all of our customers for your continued support over the last 8+ years. I have learned a lot, and formed some great relationships. Without the support of the forums, members and vendors, I would not be nearly as successful as I have been. I think that's fairly fitting and indicative of the attitude you've taken during your tenure as owner of Second Skin. I'm glad to see you'll no longer be formally associated with the company. I'm going to guess the various car audio forums you own were the beginnings of your "media empire", it's unfortunate that you won't be exiting those as well. By the way, I seem to recall you stated in a (now deleted) thread on CA.com that the company wasn't for sale, until someone posted a link, then you vanished from that conversation. Interesting. About 6 months ago we had I decided to start working with a new chemical formulation company to increase the performance and the value of damplifier and damplifier Pro. After we analyzed everything, we found a few key spots to work on. With Performance in mind, we wanted to get better results with less material and less work for our customers. Less material usually mean less performance though; Thinner foil = less vibration damping. Thinner butyl = less vibration damping. Sure, the cost goes down but with such a large reduction in performance, we hardly though it was worth it, which is why we dropped damplifier Lite from our menu. Even though damplifier Lite performed better than all of the knock off roofing tape dampers out there, it was not a good fit for our brand. Second Skin has always been known for being top of the line and we plan on keeping it that way. So here is what we are doing. Damplifier is getting an overhaul. The foil is getting an increase in thickness (by 50%) and temper (by 10%), while the adhesive will be thinner & lighter, but with more synthetic rubber added, and even less filler. Because of the increase in adhesive quality, and the thicker foil, the heat rating will be slightly increased and the adhesion will improve as well. As far as the damping performance, the product is going to be better in every measurable way. So what you get is a thinner, lighter stronger and higher quality sound deadener that performs better than anything in its weigh class, or price range. Our first batch is going to be silver. Emotional blinders? Perhaps you should review the last 10 or so threads you have started or replied to regarding Second Skin before you claim anyone else is posting with emotional drive. Seems like there is more emotional enregy in your attacks, than in my interpretation of your reply to this thread being moved. ANT
