Refurbished,reconditioned
Todd replied to lee's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Everything should be back to factory specs if refurbished by the manufacture. But who knows if you buy it from a online reseller who had the "refurbished" by joe schmoe :-) -
It looks killer- I bet it sounds even better

Todd replied to ptr's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have one in my SUV and I love it! I just sold one too. I'm using it on two T115's and it's loud! -
Has anyone on here tried the Boston G5 12 inch sub? I got one the other day (cheap)brand new and haven't hooked it up to anything yet-just wanted peoples opinion's. I heard a pair on a JL 1000/1 at a local stereo shop-and I thought they sounded great (even on there display wall). I have a 1000/1 sitting around and was thinking about trying that combo in my Mariner? I have a baby on the way and probably will need to take my 15's out from time to time-so the box will be lighter to take in and out. Just wondered if anybody had tried them before-Thanks

1000 watts RMS amp
Todd replied to Jpm4536's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You can find the Rockford P10001 or T10001's on ebay for around $200. I sold my T10001 on ebay for $215 a couple month's ago. They are more than 1000 watts too @1 ohm. The punch P10001 is right around 1000 watts and can be found for around $200. The T5002 is rated around 1000@ 2 ohms too and the they go for about the same. -
I'd buy two 12" type r's if that is the sub you want and get a 1000 watt rms amp from any company you can trust: alpine, rockford, kicker, or whoever? But don't get those subs if your not looking to spend alot of money -buy cheaper subs and around 500 rms watt amp and it will be a good starter system-and it won't be as hard on your electrical system.

I'm going to have a pair, if I use them so about 500 to each sub-should sound really good-thanks

That combo should sound great- good luck

Crazy- I just love your projects Steve-Rockford Rules! -
Very nice, do you build boxes for a living? Really like all the extra bracing-unique!

I think it's funny how everyone in there over does one exersise- thinking there going to get bigger working out one set of muscles for longer periods (like biceps). Then you have personal trainers that don't know what there doing trying to tell some old women/men how and what muscles they need to be working on?

Agreed, Alpine's sound great. I've tried just about every one and my last was eclipse cd5000-8 volt preouts and my 4-volt preout alpine decks blew it away in sound quaility

I'd do it just to help the electrical system. It never hurts to do the big 3 to your ride-just more money for wiring

Amp to push Fi 15" Q (POLL/Opinions)
Todd replied to vanquish's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'd get a power series rockford - very reliable and t10001's can be found on ebay for just over $200-that is what I just sold mine for- -
I'd say a Q 15" or 18" would be fine for that amp. I use to have one and it was rated 1100+ RMS @ 2 ohms. You could get the dual 1 ohm version of the sub and wire it in series for a 2ohm load. I was told the Q's can be used in a sealed box and require alot less air space than either of the other ones you mention- which are required to be in ported boxes.

I am currently running two Rockford T15's off a Rockford T20001at 4 ohms. I'm thinking about getting 2 15" Fi subs and run the amplifier at 2 ohms. What pair off 15" subs should I get, BL, Q's, or SSD's? Also what options should I get? Thanks
-
I have a sealed box with 2.5 ft of air space per side-would that be enough for those subs? Thanks
-
I found it through the Fi web page- which in turn I found out about Fi through Steve Meade's web page- and his build's-
-
Hello, Just thought I'd write something. What's up everyone?
-
Why Q's rather than BL's? They cost about the same. I'm looking for a great sounding sub that can take a poundin'. I'm just not liking my T1's-and I'm not using my amp to it's full potential. I know at 2 ohms it won't be either, but it let's the amp run cooler=less distortion. Thanks
