Why do SSA subwoofers cost what they do?
SGunnem replied to SGunnem's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
I am looking for technical or specific answers please Like the quality of magnet, specific grade of steel used ect. I never said they were over priced.... -
How would my amp preform.
SGunnem replied to Austin863's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
With impedance rise from the box you could be closer to 1ohm, but that's a crap shoot and not a good idea to try with that brand. -
I was afraid of clicking because I thought it might be baby pictures
-
It is not about costing alot or being "any good", it's about trading Fi for vvme
-
Eh, it's just two weeks salary.

Every track slams!! Made that way! Psyph Morrison- Diamond in the mud

Please re-read and do the last paragraph, You're lucky someone has offered to design for u as many people make threads asking for box designs and get no response. They also sell box designs in the SSA store. We really need your max dimensions.....
-
AAron, how did you find SSA?
-
Can we get a pic of your amplifier settings?

I wanna meet these boxes, they must be very sexy for you to be this attached. LOL you could easily have a box built that would allow you to put that amp on top instead of taking valuable space sitting there. Did these boxes save your life or get you some ass one time or something? why are you so in love with them? A new box doesn't mean bigger, it could mean better port tuning and a shared port for both 10's. Some guys build 3-4 boxes until they get the best design/port tuning for their specific subwoofers I'm guessing that you're not getting the response you want because you're starving the subs of air with minimal box/port size. Not to mention the acoustic nightmare from convertables.

I don't understand why you're so stubborn with your trunk space? You could always build a box in the trunk... This guy has a 2000 mustang with 2 12" and he folds his back seat down with the port firing in the cabin. http://www.caraudioforumz.com/install-related-17/help-enclosed-trunk-2000-mustang-165863/ You said u cannot fold down your back seat, are you sure? Edit: In that thread it also mentions removing the 6x9's from the rear to allow more airflow

If I were in your shoes.... I would think about getting rid of your current sub boxes + subs and go with a single strong sub in a new 2cubic ft. box If you can fit a Sundown SA-12" ported then that would be sweet imo Take that $260 - $200 for the sub, spend the rest on box building materials! woohoo

Very nice and educational, LOL @ almost ready for buttlove with all the lube -
Nothing really. Creator of Nirvana! Haha no, but seriously. When we launched the first model, we named it Icon but we were so happy to have a sub woofer, we did not really think too far down the road on model name expansion I guess. I'm guessing you came up with "evil".... that red sweater is evil.... and cruel....

I am doing a school project on Car Audio, please help with video!
SGunnem posted a topic in General Audio
Hi I am working on a school project showing the most extreme end of car audio. Meaning not your basic radio and door speakers. I will be covering everything from the difference in products and competitions. The time limit is 8 minutes to present so I will not be going into fiber glassing or anything like that. What I need is some file videos of some competitions and loud cars in action. If you know of any legit place I can download videos from to edit for my project, I would love some help and be very thankful! Youtube would be perfect, but i dont know about downloading from there. I was thinking of using something like hypercam but I could never record the sound whenever I tried to do that in the past. -

Thanks alot for the help guys, I'm glad I can do this kind of project the way I intended It took an hour and a half but I finally finished picking the video clips that will go best with what I will be saying in the speech. I ended up using savevid because I did not have to download any software here is a link to my photobucket where I have uploaded the video: http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/sgunnem/media/Speechclassfinaldraftmovie_zps5e24d86a.mp4.html You might notice some of the clips are muted, that is because the rap was too much or I am saying something in my speech that requires silence Thanks again!! P.S- I wanted to put something with Justin's Plexiglass box wall but I could not find anything detailed -

8 minutes won't even cover installing a single midwoofer The audience's knowledge of car audio will most likely be only "those annoying kids at the red lights". Most people I talk to who even have a sub in their car don't have a clue about spl or that people compete. I will most likely break it down into 2minute segments. part one: the amplifier and subwoofer of today (i will bring in something), part two: showing video of hairtricks and window flex, part three: competition footage, termlab, part four: unique designs like the frankenwoofer off meade youtube and the mardi gras water cooled shit -

Thank you very much for the advice. It is crunch time to get it done today. The project is for my speech class, demonstration/informative speech in 8 minutes. I was thinking of having someone in the class vid me and i would post it, but I am quite sure the teacher won't allow it since this speech is considered our "final".
