yeah i am looking now at the website a member suggested to me. silk tweeters would be my preference. i cant handle that ear piercing sound. to much for me. but i am looking to have a complete setup. i think that i am gonna go with 6.5 or 7's in the front and rear along with tweeters. is there any difference 5.25, 5.5, 6.5 or 7's other then size? all this is information i s extremely interesting. so much to be learned and so long have i thought in an ignorant way with car audio. 5x7's lol. i thought them things were the chit. guess not. after this post when i am ready to buy this stuff i will be bombarding this forum with hundreds of questions. so thats it for now. ok so if u compared hcca's to btl's (15's) in the correct enclosure which sub would u say would have the most impact (how hard it hits) and better overall performance?

i let go of the 4 18 idea and and decided to go more practical. i am in the market to buy a sundown 3000 or maybe and mtx 92001. i want to use either 2 15 inch subs or 2 18 inch subs if i can fit them in my trunk with adequate airspace. the subs i have been looking at are the orion hcca's. are these subs any good? btl's fully loaded are also looking good but i am not sure exactly which sub to buy since i have never heard any of them play in my application. my question is using a ported box in the trunk of a 04 towncar, which sub and amp combination would give me the best impact. i am more concerned with impact and deepness of the bass. if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. i just dont wanna be disappointed again with what i buy again (kicker). for my sub amp combo i dont wanna spend more them 2000. thanks

not really skeptical but i just dont wanna buy something to me that wont sound much different from the kicker cvx's i had b4. i am open to all opinions and i will buy the best sub for me. sq i am guessing has something to do with the clarity of the sub? i am guessing. i dont know what i will be tuning to. probably low 30's. and to be honest no one has any quality subs in stock. they always need to be ordered so i used utube and this forum and a platform to make my decision. just to make sure what is sq?

right now i have a cheap h/u in. i am willing to spend about $400 for a h/u. who makes the best h/u for basic sub setups.

what is the best way to set ur amps using lpf, hpf and your subsonic filer. what is the purpose of lpf and hpf. the box that i am using is sealed. the subs that i am running are kicker cvx's (1000 watt rms) and i am using hifoinics amps (2000 watt rms, i know they really rnt) and i run my subs at 1 ohm.

can one of the fi owners please respond. i have 4 kicker cvx 15's (1000 watt rms). i have about 13 cubic feet of airspace. can any of ur subs outperform my current setup.i have 2 hifonics brutus (2000 watt 1 ohm). i want it to be more rumble inside the car. if so please tell me what. if not please tell me so i can keep it moving. i am kinda tired of this email stuff. i need a number or something cause i send u guys a 3 paragraph question they send u a 3 word response. come on slim. look i just need some direction. i am just tryna accept the fact that a lot of these guys are jumping out there and saying all types of stuff about fi. well can i get some direction from the owners please. not mad but just tired of emailing...isnt my thing.

i need a box design for 2 18" btls. i have enough trunk space but where the port and subs would fire kinda confuse me. the dimesions of my trunk are 27x42x25. would that be enough to run 2 btls with port area? can you even run the btls sealed. i never see anyone talk about sealing them. please help cause i am tryna purchase these subs and keep it movin. hallelujah holla back.

the box that i have now is a 4 chamber box. it is 8.51 cubic ft total. the box is 25x42x18? i think. anyway the setup is loud but my thing is that the box is big as hell and all those subs may not even be needed. i know that is more cone area but what does that determine? and another reason i want to get rid of these subs is because they keep blowing. either one of the leads breaks or a vc goes out. they are a hassle. i just dont wanna buy the wrong subs again and not be as loud. i am willing to buy the amps needed and subs to have the sound i want.

with a box at 27x21x27 what size port would i need to run a 18"btl at 2000 watts? this is just the available area for the box. with displacement it puts the box at 7.13ft^3. and i am using 3/4 mdf. or would it be better to run both btl's in the same enclosure and port it. if so the box would change to 27x42x27. what port length would be needed to run it at 32hz?

i measured my trunk and i have a total of 14 cubic ft available. with the box being needed to be removed i took away some space. but it is 14 ft^3. 27x27x42.
