    $800 for amp(s) and sub(s)

so i am guessing ur tryna stay above 2000 watts for the pair rms? if not whats wrong with the zx1500.1. u can find one on ebay for some slight chit and it wont cause u to upgrade ur electrical a lot. there are a couple of them that are on ebay now for a lil less then 400 shipped. 2 canada though..not sure.
  2. i plan on running a power and ground directly to my amps from under the hood. i dont really want to ground into the trunk. does this make a difference? i am also going to do the big 3 upgrade. kicker zx2500.1, and a zx650.4 are the amps. 2 optima 34/78 yellow tops.

    another amp

i have a dilema. i have a zx2500.1 now. i am gonna purchase 2 15.2 orion hcca's next week. but since some faggy ass mofos done stripped my other car i think i wanna put more money into this setup. i have a 6cub ft box @ 35hz for these subs. i am contemplating buying another zx2500.1 to run one amp per sub. i am prepared and fully aware of the elec upgrades need to be successful. so with all this being said what would be a realistic difference in the 2 setups. 2 hcca's wit 1 amp or 2 hcca's wit 2 amps. obviously this is a problem cause i need to buy the subs according to the ohm load they will be run at. my goal is to have loud and deep clear bass. i want some movement(flex) and i want power. but if there isnt a clear and noticeable difference in the 2 setups why spend the extra. the setup is going in a 04 towncar.

    another amp

ok it can run 1 ohm stable? the specs dont say that. and what is ur wattage when u run at 1 ohm? how long have u had that amp? i would think it would damage the amp.

    another amp

i wanna b competitive but it is a town car so me doing a lot of extra is not really what i wanna do. so if it wont make a difference then i wont do it.
  7. so what is the difference of people who have multiple runs of wire? does it only make a difference for power wire?
  8. true. good looking out. didnt know if my ground would be that much more solid because of a direct connection to the battery. i also wanted to do it cause i thought it looked kinda good. so when u use a meter what setting are you to put it on and what should it be reading?

    Bigpimpin91's 1988 Ford Bronco II

son please....get a bigger amp. u have alot of potential there. 600 watts? at least u could get a hifonics 2000 watt and get a lil over 1000 to both of the subs. lol

    wiring tweeters

i have 2 morel dms-29 1-1/8 tweeters. what would be the difference in sound if i used a capacitor instead of running the speakers thru a crossover? does it affect the power it receives?

    wiring tweeters

i want to wire my tweeters and mid drivers without using a crossover. the sales rep i spoke to told me that was the easiest route to go. i dont have any specific goals other then for the speakers to work and not blow. or sound bad.

the pics are under my profile. neither car has anything in it now. the 04 has 2 amps and a battery in my room and the 93 has everything except a h/u. some jack a s s broke in it and stole my s hit so i just took everything out. i will be putting in both systems shortly. just need some more money for them hcca's. and i still am debating if i wanna do 2 15 hcca's, 2 15 btl's, or 1 18 btl. i have to actually start hearing some of these speakers in action or i will be confused until then. but as soon as i get them up and going i will be posting vid up.

and to add my opinion, i would say go with the 4 15's. i have never heard 8 12's. the trunk in a caprice gives you a lot of options with a box because of the shape. i have 4 15's in my trunk and it is loud as hell. if you power it correctly you will be satisfied.

    mounting question

i have some dayton rs180's ( 7 in.) that i recently purchased. my car takes 6x8's up front and 6x9's in the rear. other then using a piece of wood to mount the speakers what other method could i use that will give me some clearance and also allow me to install the speakers so that they do not come in direct contact with the door. i have heard of adapters but i do not know if they will help me in my case. these are the speakers specs: Specifications: *Power handling: 60 watts RMS/90 watts max *VCdia: 1.5" *Le: .90 mH *Znom: 8 ohms *Re: 6.4 ohms *Frequency range: 40-2,200 Hz *Fs: 38 Hz *SPL: 87.6 dB 2.83V/1m *Vas: .88 cu. ft. *Qms: 2.00 *Qes: .47 *Qts: .38 *Xmax: 6 mm *Dimensions: A: 7-1/8", B: 5-3/4", C: 3-5/8". and since i couldn't find my exact speaker specs online i found a speaker identical: Speaker Size : 5" x 7" / 6" x 8" Design : 2-way Sensitivity : 90 dB Frequency Response : 45Hz - 20kHz Peak Power Handling : 70 watts RMS Power Handling : 35 watts Impedance : 4 ohms Curvilinear Injection-Molded Polypropylene (CIMP) woofer cone High-Temp Polyimide Film Voice Coil Former Optimized Polyfoam Ribbed Surround Radius 1/2" PEN semi-dome tweeter Neodymium tweeter magnet New Enhanced BAM (Basket and Motor) Assembly High-Power Tinsel Lead Wires Ferro-fluid cooled tweeter voice coil Top Mount Depth : 2-5/16" Bottom-mount depth : 2-11/16" Cutout Dimensions : 5" x 7-1/8" i really dont want to build pods on my front doors but i am open to all suggestions. and just fyi, i havent figured out yet where i want to put the speakers in the rear. whether it be the factory location (rear deck) or in the doors.
