08 Tahoe needs a 15 inch enclosure
TooLoud4You replied to SleepyTime76's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
My friend has 2 15"s in his 07 tahoe. They took out 1 of the third row seats and faced it toward the seat next to it but at an upward angle. It is a sealed box running I think the older JL w3 versions. Sounds great and I do not recall much-none rattles. Good luck with the setup and the Tahoe they are beautiful! -
Given the space I think you should move down to a smaller sub but with the 18" if you really wanted to do it. I would suggest for amps: kicker zx2500.1 or Crunch 3000d (be sure to get the right ohm speaker) With your trunk dimensions you can do a 32hz at 5.1 cubes. 4.5inch port. (L shaped port) You won't be getting the most out of the setup because of the limited space but it will still get very loud. A 15" btl would fit perfect in that amount of space. Are you going to get a 2nd battery? I think the Crunch amp goes for around $450 shipped and CAN do rated rms. Need any more questions feel free to ask

Thats a big amp for two ssd subs Thats a problem. having the ssf all the way down in a ported enclosure and powered by a kicker 2500. All of those things are a compounding problem for you. These are the probable causes to your failure: 1) Ported box with ssf all the way down is NOT guarding against over excursion 2) Two SSDs that have an 800wrms rating each so 1600 total with a Kicker 2500 powering them I think your a little confused about the setup. I have the 2 12" ssds with the kicker zx2500.1. He has the 1 12" ssd with the kicker zx1000.1 There was no smell to the sub and we took it out to look in the box and saw nothing. Used my CD to test it out with and I have bumped that CD for a while, with no damage to my subs at all.

I think something was wrong with the sub. I have heard and I do not think it is the gain at all. Before this happened there was no distortion at all it was sounding great then the next day playing a little lower song sounded like there was a rattle and now you can hear it when ever volume is turned up(gain can be all the way down). I have 2 12" ssds running off a kicker zx2500.1 and I have not had any problems with the power I am sending them.

I live in Daytona and this news sucks but just means people need to be smarter. It will take care of the kids riding around trying to make noise to show off. I know a kid who is about to turn 18 with already 5 tickets for his bass... It may seem harsh but just try not to get caught

Since it is not your daily I say go for it! In a well built wall for the 2 Q's I think it would sound nice and loud, but I would try a little lower tuning. But I just love getting really really low lol Good luck with the install!

Problem with Second Battery?

tested the alt today and they said it was working fine. So I should just recharge my kinetik in the back, and I should be ok for a little while? -
Problem with Second Battery?

Hey I've got 2 12" ssd's to a 08kickerzx2500.1 with a Kinetik hc1400 in the back. The first 4 weeks I had the setup it was great, working to what I had expected. Some said they have never heard any cars around here get so low. (tuned to 33hz) Then...last week I turn my PAC bass knob all the way up and then I hear the bass cut off, I then turn down the knob and it comes right back on. I turn it back up and after like 30secs it will cut off and on. After a few days it seemed to me as it was a battery problem, like when it was turned up loud the batteries could not charge fast enough so it cut off. I took it to auto zone and they checked both batteries and they said the kinetik was a bad battery and I needed to replace it. I have a warranty so I am not worried about that I am just curious as to why this happened? I had the gain at like 1/3 on the amp and with the head unit (pioneer avh-4000D) i listened to it at 20 out of 40. Stock 120amp alt. If anyone can give me any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thx -

yea im running my stock battery upfront. You think if i got a similar kinetik upfront it could be fixed? I'll also get my alt tested but since its a 2007 im pretty sure it would'nt be that or could I be wrong? Do you think if i recharged the kinetik it would last and then have the same problems again? -
I've heard that it is better to have farther away then really close. I space them evenly with the box after the port. Actually just got done with my build today. 2 12" SSDs 4.5cbft tuned to about 33-34 Kicker ZX2500.1 Good luck with the rest of the build

2002 Caddy on bagz...8 Fi BTL 18's, 2 RF T15k amps (new vid pg 31)
TooLoud4You replied to meade916's topic in General Fi
Does anyone know what was used to coat the outside of the box? Im curious as to the process of this, where it can be found, and the price. I currently on a build inside my car and since I cant wrap the box in carpet I would like to do something similar to mr.meade. -
Hi. im installing 2 SSDs to a Kicker Zx2500. Its a stock 120A alt in a Ford Fusion. I have a Kinetik Hc1400 that will be in the trunk. My first Question is will I need to have 2 runs(Power/ground) of 0 gauge from the stock battery to the Kinetik? Or can I just run 1 power between both batteries and ground the kinetik to the car? Also I have a Kicker zx650.4 for the doors and I would like to put Phoenix Gold RSD-6.5CS. MY stock speakers are 5.25s. Would this be too much work or should I just buy the RSDs in 5.25? Also can anyone refer me to a nice pair of 2 way speakers that I could put in the rear doors? I listen to mostly hip-hop/rock. Any input is great because I receive my Pioneer AVH4000 headunit this week and would like to start my build/box. Thx

Hi next week i'm starting my build in my trunk with a box for 2 12" SSD hooked to a zx2500.1 The box will be roughly 4.2 cube ft after displacement tuned to 33hz. I have a few questions will I need to brace the inside of the box? How can I brace it? any input is appreciated thx

Most people are going to say to stay away from Hifonics. That RF amp would do just fine, wire the 15 in parallel to get you down to 1 ohm. You could also go with a Sundown 1500, if you can get the sub in 1ohm I would personally suggest a kicker zx1500.1
-
What ohms are your subwoofers? I think the wiring is just messed up. I don't know how you can wire 2 subs to 1 or 1/4 ohm. I think you have it wired to 4ohms.

Hi, I drive a 2007 Ford Fusion and I am having some trouble finding a better alternator, could anyone give me a few places I could look that might have one for me? I plan on running a 18" Fi BTL with Kicker ZX2500.1 and maybe 2 batts. Also about what size alternator should I be looking at? Thanks for any input

Hi I have been looking around at this Forum and now I find myself checking it each time im online. I've been looking at the Fi subs(very impressed btw) and im now very interested in a fully loaded 18" BTL. Now if i were to run a Hifonics BXi 2607D would I need to get the dual2ohm BTL? and wire it in parallel? Also what upgrades would I be looking at in my electrical system? (new alt, a few batterys) I plan on taking out a backseat in my Ford Fusion for the BTL. Any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks and merry "late" Chrismas!
